  • Perfect

  • just u2 can do such a beautiful song!

  • Thats why u2 are amazing band , this didnt even make no line on the horizon, how many more gems do we not know about , they will all come out one day , probably when they have split up , which i hope they never do, to see them live is awesome , they have been part of my life since 1983, and they just keep getting better.

  • @rwitterick I read somewhere that U2 have recorded anything from one to two albums worth of new material in the last year or so. For some reason it is not being released. On the issue of U2 ever splitting up, I wonder if they ever will. What would Adam do with his life if the band broke up?

  • @EnglishChannel1 they said they are working on three albums

    atu2.com/newalbum/

  • All about U2 ??????????????

An average band who made it big with talent 1/2 as good as DEF LEPPARD

Funny how shit flows down hill and the morons at the RR hall of fame are fucking retards ...

But for that ABITCH cunt to think she has class ???? NFW

  • @onlyafterdarkness It's about the sound

  • @onlyafterdarkness def leppard...eh..."Make a love like a Man i'm a man thats what I am..." When Bob Dylan goes up to def leppard and tells them he likes their work, like he's done with U2 then u can compare...until then...piss off

  • What an amazing song! I am so happy that i was in second gig in Helsinki, so i heard new song ``Every Breaking Wave``!

  • Mankind needs more U2

  • the movie and the song are awesome

  • So Great

  • Best song Ever!

  • U2: The Best / Los Mejores

  • I have had enough of waiting, they've been talking about a new album for ages now. When are they gonna release it?

  • "At 21, I as born a son. And on that day I knew I could kill. To protect the ones, we bullets in guns. Or whatever it takes, to take a life until its still." Very deep. Definitely speaking about a soldier.

  • I'm so in <3 w/ this song right now!

  • sublime, comme toujours avec U2...

  • the music is amazing

    the lyrics are beautiful

the voice of Bono is terrible...why does he insist in singing in such a high register???

i hope that in the next U2 album he sings lower

  • i want "songs of ascent" right now. no line on the horizon was an amazing album, very underrated. i love "every breaking wave"; "soon" and this one

  • Why, why, why wasn't this on NLOTH? SO much more interesting than "Stand Up Comedy" and "If I Don't Go Crazy".

  • What a song!! Wonderful... every other group would die for such a piece of music... Where can I get it....

  • that guitar tune coming in at 20 seconds, and then building up, omg i love it i love it <3

  • @shortandbig0 -insert approving comment-

  • This sounds a lot like Love Comes Tumbling

  • effing amazing

  • u2 are all nice guys, they are very good at what they do, they have heart and they genuinely seem to care, they write great songs and have great production, sometimes they are a bit "gay" in that they are willing to make themselves vulnerable in these senses they are THE best but in other senses i dont they are the best out there. Look at nirvana or bob dylan.

  • The bassline can drive me anywhere

  • begining sounds like Coldplay Viva la Vida

  • @Kazekane No Coldplay Viva la Vida sounds like this song, not the inverse. Don't be wrong.

  • @DZUSification don't be ridiculous. Viva La Vida came out a year before this. But the thing is - it doesn't sound like Viva La Vida!

    Jeez!

  • Don't really know how to explain it but this song has a real strong atmospheric presence to it

  • Does anyone else hear a young Bono in here? This song (although recorded in 2008/2009 during the "Horizon" sessions), could easily have been recorded during the "War"/"Unforgettable Fire" era.

  • @JesusCristo2002 You have a keen ear! You are indeed right, these lyrics and melody come from the time of 'Joshua Tree', but was never completed and released until recent.

  • Comment removed

  • @john3verse5 I'm afraid you're incorrect, however. This was recorded in 07-09 for the NLOTH sessions. No element of this is from the 80s. The song you're thinking of is 'Wave of Sorrow'.

  • @HolaDeco Quite right. :)

    Thanks!

  • @john3verse5 No problems! :)

  • How can someone dislike this song?

  • This is cool..That song mercy isnt up there..north star passable but this is cool

And Led Zeppelin couldnt right tunes like this dont be daft....they're all riffs and wailing...if thats what you like then probably theyre the best at that but theres no tunes in there..no real soul

  • This is cool..That song mercy isnt up there..north star passable but this is cool

  • Song is amazing. When will someone make a video filled with American troops in the middle east? Now that would really fit the song

  • Does anyone else hear echoes of New Years Day in this song?

  • As usual the Kings songs that are not released are some of the best

  • Beautfiful piece, difficult topic. The guitar seems to be inspired by "Walk to the water", later chorus à la "Miss Sarajevo". I'm really looking forward to the new album!

  • my favourite part 00:00 - 6:20

  • super number

  • Amazing.

  • Du pur U2

  • for gods sake when will they release these 2 new albums!!!

  • wow. echt toller song zum nachdenken ..

  • only u2 is able to make a sort of song with great emotion when you heard it for the firts time! i love this song and the movie!

  • я люблю эту песню

    me encanta esta canción

    Rakastan tätä laulua

    J'aime cette chanson

    私はこの曲を愛します。 μ ' αρέσει αυτό το τραγούδι

as many languages there are all i could say is

    I love this song :)

  • yo tampoco soy fan de u2 pero la rolae es buena hay q darles su merito

  • I am not a huge U2 fan, but this is an amazing song. After seeing the movie "Brothers" I had to look it up. I would listen to it a million times.

  • filmu brak-za to nuta fajuśna

  • listen to neil daimond,,, i'm sure bono did..............bono give the man his dues.....

  • Coldplay stole U2 and U2 stole them back.

  • @Swissbanker77

Hahaha! This is a song Chris Martin stole from, well US! We're stealing it back!

  • @mattressjedi At first I didn't understand, and then I heard what you meant. Forget them, this song is so much more beautiful!

  • the base of the song is something amazing...i think one of the best one ever made..from someone that is not fun of u2, just found this song i pod and felt in love with the instrumental, just incredible..

  • @teodenreturn exactly my feeling. not a fan from U2 but the instrumental of this song is amazing!!

  • Uber U2.. this is for the fanatics lol...

  • god, i wish they just once made a clearly obscure album with no hitsong at all, on which the reception is so bad, but deep down inside, it's pure greatness only to recognized by the true and real u2 fans. make 'n album with tunes like this one, its fuckinn amazinggg

  • @hellyfornication for instances: something like zooropa or pop?

  • i hate the beatles so bad

  • @TimU2Cool

Without The Beatles there would be no U2 and hundreds, nay thousands, of other bands and 40 years of pop music/rock.

  • @mattressjedi Yeah......riiighhhttt.. Elvis Presley had nothing to do with the popularity of rock music :p What bull puckey

  • @mattressjedi Yeah and without Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan and countless others, there would be have been no Beatles. So what's your point? It's a little polyanna to play the Beatles card every time a band paves their own success. The truth is that U2 invented a color that didn't exist prior. How can you possibly compare a band that had a 9 year career to a band that has been number one for 30 plus years? They both own their place in rock n roll history.

  • @mattressjedi And its U2's fault they werent born b4 the Beatles? get a grip loon.

  • @MrMGame Agreed.

  • @mattressjedi If it weren't for the Beatles influence it would've been someone else. The Beatles are awesome, I own 7 of their albums myself so I'm nto hating, but to give them credit for thousands of bands who have come after them and say so and so would not exist if it weren't for the Beatles isn't completely fair or right. Yes they were an influence to many but 40 years of pop/rock music would've existed with or without the Beatles.

  • This is magic

  • it sounds like the saints are coming just a little

  • John Travolta was in U2 hahahaha? <3

  • @AustinSteakandEggs

    Yes, at Saturday night!

    :)

  • unforgettable fire?

  • Brothers♥

  • I'm pretty sure this has the potential of getting to number 1 in Ireland, US and UK =D Does anybody else agree?

If it did, U2 would have a number 1 single from every decade they have released studio albums =D

  • Uhm I'm not sure the lyrics are right, could you please check them again? Thanks!

  • Cacophony.

  • U2's unreleased/rare songs are better than most group's biggest hits! If we heard what was inside of U2's vault we would probably all die in awe

  • @lukasmayo it's not rare or unreleased it was rhe soundtrack the movie brothers and it was nominated for a golden globe

  • @lukasmayo - With the "Achtung Baby" re-release, we're about to get a glimpse of that vault; and yes we might all die in awe!!!

  • Great hymn (as every U2-hit)!

  • this song hasn't been given enough credit! It's really nice...although Bono thinks that's a shitty word.

  • Nobody comes close to U2. They are the greatest band of the past 30 years.

  • @bleep77 The best band of all fockin' history!!!!

  • @bleep77 One of the Greatest. not the greatest. Led Zeppelin. is the greatest of all time. 4 of the best musicians to make music together

  • @takinadeuce stop your bitchin' , enjoy the song. Cheers

  • @takinadeuce I said the past 30 years. Led Zeppelin were in the 70's, that would have been 40 years ago.

  • @bleep77 I can call some bands that come close for just a little bit.

    Coldplay, Keane or The Verve

  • @bleep77 agreed..They are Awesome.

  • I see The Beatles Thought Police are out a few pages down, laying down the law.

The law is people decide for themselves who they like and who they think is better. If 1 million people say Beatles and one person says U2, well for him that's enough.

Beatles 'adoration' has become a fascist cult - never question, just obey. Bullshit.

If you worship the Beatles, keep your preaching for their music pages, thanks.

  • @WhoDoYouWant Early Beatles were just Nysnc/backstreet boys but who could play instruments.

  • @WhoDoYouWant This is meant to be funny: You must be one of the guys who keeps clicking the Dislike button on Beatles songs. Come on, let's have a laugh together!

  • @utubemusiccritic No, the Beatles Thought Police are a humourless bunch, so no, it's not funny - they'd never get a joke. And no too,I don't frequent Beatles songs on You Tube or press childish 'dislike' buttons - (you seem to know how it goes, are you a 'dislike' button soldier?) I come to YouTube to listen to music I LIKE not to ridicule music I don't like - so I repeat to Beatles apostles, stick to Beatles songs for the preaching. Thanks again ;)

  • UNFORGETTABLE FIRE LIKE

  • U2

  • Wish this was on Horizon.

    Amazing.

  • ``Rhymes they sprang in me

    Summer sang in me

But summer sings in me no more*`` ♥

  • These comments made me realise it isn't on No Line. On my iPod it is :P Amazing song! :D

  • I'm stunned! I can't believe how beautiful and surreal this song is. I had prayed for a new song where Bono sings opera, but this is more than I could have hoped for. I can't wait for the new album.

  • bad. ass.

  • Never headrd of this song.... strange... but it isnt that good..

  • @eddyerkelens It's AMAZING!

  • @eddyerkelens This song is in the movie "Brothers" just watched it the other day and was shocked to hear it! Love it ♥

  • @kmf78 I have seen this movie yesterday, It was amazing, the song is amazing !

  • amazing

  • something beautiful..

  • this song is kick ass

  • I love the song, but i Hate U2's love for advertising, for instance, they usedthis song inthe movie brothers, and also the song Bad appeared on that film

  • @lazzaronico so? their powerful song that fit a movies feel and atmosphere.

  • But there's no army in this world, that can fight a ghost. :(

  • @abraxus81,yes indeed they are as you say....the best rockband in the universe!!!

    U2 rocks FOREVER!!!

  • To protect the ones

    We put bullets in guns

    Or anything it takes

To take a life until it's still..

    THE HORRIBLE TRUTH !

  • nice song and Edge guitarsound is as allways.....brilliant!

U2 are the best rockband in the whole world!!!

    Bono's voice sounds good.....as allways....LOVE U2!!!

  • nice one..

  • I love the sound of The Edge and his guitars!

  • @Teestrup He is a fraud

  • u2 by far the greatest band on this planet.....!!!

  • 4:57 Love it when Bono uses his 'opera' voice.

  • Incredible. I pray for the day the troops come home and people around the world can live without the fear of bombs falling from the sky.

  • my ears my ears

  • Hmmm... I was about to bitch & whine about ALL the singles faithfully purchased and still I manage to miss this one, but...

    ...Naah

    (actually... seriously? yikes)

  • I just don't understand how they couldn't put that song on the album! It's so amazing!!! Love this band, they're just great!!

  • That intro

......all i can think of is Viva La Vida

  • @im8teennow that's because Coldplay used Brian Eno who is U2's main producer and he wrote that intro and coldplay used it for that song and he put it at the beginning of this song knowing U2 wasn't putting on the NLOTH album

  • is this from one of their albums????

  • @cvdqr Maybe the next one? But not on their albums so far.

  • @cvdqr

Its from the NLOTH special edition dvd , and its GREAT

  • Bravo! I am one of many number one fans of these exceptional people!

  • amazing bass, drums, guitar, voice

  • At twenty-one

    I was born a son

And on that day I knew

    I could kill

    To protect the ones

    We put bullets in guns

    Or anything it takes

To take a life until it's still

  • i am just waiting for winter and snow to make some video with this song

  • just awsome

  • This is beautiful

  • Edge is the most talented member of U2

  • Whenever I see Bono all looking away in a cover like he doesn't care I can't help but think of Cartman starting that Christian Rock Bank in South Park! hahahahah! Always gonna love ya Bono. Probably the only cat cool enough to really pull it off btw!

  • Bono looks so cool in that photo :)

  • to random for me..

  • Pretty awesome! Over the years I have heard a large number of U2 songs, conventional and unnkown ones, but never came across this one before. Great sounds again!

  • Absolutely beautiful song. U2 done it again!

  • magnificent!!! ♥

  • A Longer "Winter". Such a an awesome track by U2. Could end up in my top songs for them. Gets better each listen, such an raw emotional song. Shame it was dropped from N.L.O.T.H. as that was for the first time, such a let down for me.

  • can anybody help through the steps of getting this song on my itunes? it thats possible- it would be much appreciated! thankyou

  • @GabeU2Fan; Use Clip Extractor or Real Player to download the Y-tube code to hard disc, then import into videos/movies in Itunes...etc

  • U2 ist einfach fantastisch!!

  • I liked this song when I watched tha movie Brothers!!!

  • i thought NLOTH was pretty mediocre by U2 standards.... I'm still waiting for their next epic album since achtung baby... will it ever come or am I dreaming?

  • @jgrewal66 It'll come :D

  • @jgrewal66 NLOTH was a strong album....Unkown Caller,Moment Of Surrender,Breathe,Cedars Of Lebanon and Magnificent are mediocre????

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and All That You Can't Leave Behind....U2's previous albums...now they were medicore...both albums had strong hit singles...Beautiful Day and Vertigo...but as albums they were weak

NLOTH was co written by producers Eno and Lanois, that fact alone means the album can't be mediocre..it was dark and brooding, not sappy..thank God

  • @jgrewal66 don't count on it. Achtung baby is the greatest album ever made, it'll be impossible to beat!!!!

  • Great song. Gets better and better every time.

  • Is it just me or does Edges intro sound very similar to Love Comes Tumbling?

  • It seems completely effortless for U2 now. They are masters.

  • Whoooa....I just lost all respect for Coldplay

  • just heard this song and i love it!!!!!!

  • coldplay couldnt wipe u2s ass

  • @BRONXIRISH78 they couldn't even reach to wipe u2's ass bro. =]

  • @BRONXIRISH78 - u know da 1 bro....:) peace. G. (pop martian) the bohys just get better and better....

im just pissed that the 360* experience has finished in europe......i wish i had the dollar to follow them , and hear the new material -( no doubt will be played in the states on the next leg). i managed to get to 6 shows-(2009 and 2010) but its never enough................ *

  • @BRONXIRISH78 You are a petty child for comparing them.

Could you not simply say you love U2?

no you had to be a musical elitist about it.

This reply will probably be lost on you if your as immature as you were in you're original comment.

    But still

    honestly

just love what you love and never mind anything else.

Hating on irrelevant things is pathetic. If you really hate coldplay them dont make them important enough to discuss on videos not involving them.

    GROW

    UP.

  • @im8teennow Well put - I agree with you. I really couldn't add to what you wrote ! :) What's even more pathetic, is the 27 "LIKES" on that guy's comment.

  • @lonestarduffer No kidding.

I guess some people dont realize that it just makes you look stupid when you bring up things you dislike when they have NOTHING TO DO with the video. Its just immature.

  • @BRONXIRISH78 big fan of U2 and Coldplay so it's a bit harsh on Coldplay. Although no band has ever come near to touching U2 in the past 30 years.

  • @coldplay77290 Seriously, what are you on? Coldplay couldn't tune U2's guitars. And I like Coldplay, but they are nowhere close to U2's level.

  • @coldplay77290 lol lol lol lolo lol lol and lol

  • just to set everyone straight...if anything coldplay sounds like u2...u2 created their sound...they own their own unique sound...without u2 there probably wouldnt even be a coldplay at all

    peace and love
