basic training is soft because it means nothing, when it comes to combat arms, army is VERY well trained. ive got a cousin in the 2nd infantry division who is about to go back to afganistan, he trains his ass off dude, . like he tells me, there are basically 2 parts of the army, the POG side and the combat side, and i just about garuntee he and his men fight just as hard as any marine unit, btw i love all you marines and think you deserve all the pride that you have,

Oh and each branch has its own mission and they all do their different missions very well, so it really isn't valid to say which branch is better with this in mind.

The biggest loss the the USMC is not Death, injury, or retirement, its branch switching to the ARMY, ALL together!
You don't get 100% promise that you will get your MOS in the USMC, you get a "%", in the ARMY if you dont get your MOS you can move on. In fact MARINES have a better chance of buying used ARMY gear on Ebay then they do getting it issued!

Plus the USMC can be invading any location in the world within 6 hours. Thats having boots on the ground. With our own aviation, artillery, tanks, infantry, and close work with the Navy for transportation, the Marines can by themselves do what the Army would need the Navy, Air Force and Marines for into order invade a country.

I know people who used them and discussed the topic with Marines and Soldiers that both agree the weapon is problematic more than it works perfectly. @ramairgto72 300 meters is like 250/270 yards, Marines have to hit that standing, firing no less 1 shot per 1-2 seconds. Plus, a target moving side to side isnt that hard to hit, its just about timing. When a target is stationary or moving, at twice the distance, wind and drop become more significant and make the target harder to hit. And its spelled SIGHTS, a DI wouldve ripped off your jaw and shit down your throat for that. Just shows how well Drill Sergeants teach you in the Army...

Again, its twice the range, that makes it significantly more difficult. Okinawa, the Army was UNable to push the Japanese out of there defenses, so they pulled back and the Marines having already secured the North, moved to the South and fought it out with the Japanese.. The USMC is a corps not massive Armys. The Army has to use a divison to have the same effectiveness as 1 Marine Regiment.

My platoon alone had a 45% broken, NoGo, or recycled. The ARMY needs people, FT Jackson is not a FT Leonard Wood, you don't need Intel guys doing dawn to dusk marches, so they get the Basic, but still have to meet PT or they are out. Our 11Bs are better then USMCs!

The biggest loss the the USMC is not Death, injury, or retirement, its branch switching to the ARMY, ALL together!
You don't get 100% promise that you will get your MOS in the USMC, you get a "%", in the ARMY if you dont get your MOS you can move on. In fact MARINES have a better chance of buying used ARMY gear on Ebay then they do getting it issued!
USMC gets by the most part used ARMY gear wtf! That was one major reason I did not go USMC, that and I just about aced the ASVAB in 2000 no less!

@ramairgto72 300 meters is like 250/270 yards, Marines have to hit that standing, firing no less 1 shot per 1-2 seconds. Plus, a target moving side to side isnt that hard to hit, its just about timing. When a target is stationary or moving, at twice the distance, wind and drop become more significant and make the target harder to hit. And its spelled SIGHTS, a DI wouldve ripped off your jaw and shit down your throat for that. Just shows how well Drill Sergeants teach you in the Army...

Again, its twice the range, that makes it significantly more difficult. Just like a child attempting to prove themselves they will do this with everything even changing a tire. Okinawa, the Army was UNable to push the Japanese out of there defenses, so they pulled back and the Marines having already secured the North, moved to the South and fought it out with the Japanese.. The USMC is a corps not massive Armys. The Army has to use a divison to have the same effectiveness as 1 Marine Regiment.

I would say that on average standard Marine Infantry is better trained than standard Army Infantry, but the minute you add airborne or Rangers to the mix you are dealing with more specialized units who get more training that 0311s. @airsoftking12111 The ARMY & USMC is just about the same for basic, however when you get into ARMY combat MOS like OSUT outside SF it's much harder. 12-B is OSUT it's longer and harder then any non SF basic or boot, no Females. My platoon alone had a 45% broken, NoGo, or recycled. The ARMY needs people, FT Jackson is not a FT Leonard Wood, you don't need Intel guys doing dawn to dusk marches, so they get the Basic, but still have to meet PT or they are out. Our 11Bs are better then USMCs!
