  • not a true artist. michaelangelo, renoir, dali were real artists.

  • I'd have jumped over the table and kissed her....then asked for a painting.

  • Dear Tracey I am so moved by your art works!

  • damien hirst and tracey emin seem so dated now.

who cares any more. the Conservatives are coming, and after some horrendous years of hardship we'll see some new artists.

  • love you tracy.

  • She didn't rob a bank. Don't be so sore and jealous. I believe her "art" is a load of rubbish, but it's better than selling guns and bombs, right? When did you last look to those who do that (SAAB for example)and post hate on their profile?

2002 top profits on "Defense" (!)

    Boeing Co. $16.6 billion

    Northrop Grumman Corp. $8.7 billion

    Raytheon Co. $7.0 billion

    General Dynamics Corp. $7.0 billion

    United Technologies Corp. $3.6 billion

  • Dear Tracy Emin,

If you are reading this could you please make art by harming yourself.

    Thank you

  • Thanks Tracey for your art!

  • THANK YOU TRACY

  • tracy me and you babe / so what i do love you

  • wooow im naked right now!

    im so silly Qn

  • true. it goes on its the world...whats your gripe in life? acceptance or ignorance... nobody really cares about anybody these days but themselves... thats the way life is and has been for ever since the dawn of life. do you think we should care what you think of us? do you care what we think of you??? no... go somewhere else if you want pretty paintings but if your raw you'll want to see whats real... step into another persons world...

  • theres no such thing as individuality really and truly because every person alive is catogorised into a group. one way or another from all walks of life there are stereotypes and within those stereotypes lie more groups of people who are individual in certain ways and features but still experience the same things and feelings... i might be what you upper classes call a chav but me... i can understand because im not sheilded from the things your are...daily occurences would be a nightmare come

  • your just as bad as snobby people by saying that only you can experience things. people are so retarded about class these days. it doesnt really apply anymore, lots of really rich people are really "common" and lots of really poor people are really posh

  • shotkilleddead is a cock and not even a usefull one...just a dirty impotent lil wee wee winkle of a prik so FUCK YOU and leave her alone

  • you sound like a right little common piece of waste. good luck in the up-coming depression when chavs like you wont be able to afford a slice of bread. maybe tracy will help you out? i doubt it though. i'll gladly help you, just hand me your shoelace, if you still have shoes.

  • But tracy did say recently enough that being a "chav" was a good thing. I dont think thats the case, the majority of society looks down on 'chavs', how can people looking down on you and not caring about you be a good thing?

  • you cant tell your arsehole from your mothers cunt coz u aint gta soul... fuck fuck fuck you coz i reckon tracy emin is golddust... anybody who feels that deep about anything is artistic and its about your expression not your agression... i bet ur a shit fuck too i bet ur misses or fellas hates you and if you got kids so do they... step out of your bubble u tosspot n open your eyebaaaaaallllllsss....wasteman

  • dont get it twisted im not a lil bitch like you..im a dj and thats my fuckin art and thats how i try and move people... wat difference are you making???

  • The ego has landed

  • i got her wrong she is deeper than i thought she was.

  • i got this lady wrong she is deeper than i thought she was far play to her.

  • Your all jealous wankers!

    SHES IN DA MONEY!

  • I hear this tramp thinks that 'chav culture' is a good thing for the world. that it shows the 'lower classes' have 'pride' in themselves. Well there are no lower classes anymore, just mindless drones caught up in the joke of consumerism. and chavs are at the bottom of it.

do you know, of a evening i quite enjoy hunting down a chav and slitting their greasy throats with their own reebok runner shoelace. now thats art. put that on your messy bed, useless cunt.

  • u fucking silly wanker!!! m8 by the sound of things your a fuckin jumped toffee mug, come 'ahuntin' in these bits u fuckin prick we'll show you how we roll...it takes anyone to insult but someone to appreciate... you dont recognise art in its rawest form u dickhead..

  • Look up shit in the dictionary, Tracey Emin will be written next to it.

  • tracey is the best, better than the fucking rest!

  • Hail The Queen of British Art Tracey Emin...

  • British art is nothing to be proud of...

  • why?

  • It's totally vapid and without content

  • artists like Frida Kahlo, Paula Rego, Peter Blake, Diego Rivera, Jose Guadalupe, will never return, I totally agree with you! art is vapid and without content!

  • All of the artists you named, with the exception of Blake, are not British artists. I said BRITISH ART is nothing to be proud of (and by that i mean specifically Emin and Hirst).

  • I gave my own statement!!!

  • You don't make much sense

  • you lack education; after the second quote you should understand.

  • There was no quote!

  • So what is it? A statement or a quote. You're the educated one.

  • the quote is my statement that I believe. I can use it whenever, thats why quotes are said and staements are claimed for bieng as real as quotes.

  • Lol. Well I have no interest in your uninspired "statements" (that's statements, not "staements"). You're bieng stupid.

  • you started it.

  • I love you strangely.

  • "Go on and love me, I don't care, oh! it's lonely at the top!"

    Now there's a quote!

  • Bravo!!! I feel as though you are reffering this all to Emin?

But great quote bravo again and again!

    now theres a statement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, and thank you!!

  • But what would give me more praise than copying somebody else's quote and claiming it as my own statement...?

I know! Get the dirty laundry out and don't make the beds!

  • are you a artist? curator? teacher? It looks as though someone has given you a hard time from the establishment? Or you just speak your mind?

Well I hate Damiens works, they are placid dull, and corrupt.

  • Well, when I see crap, I do my best to point my finger at it! I enjoy painting, but I'm a musician and I compose, so art is more of a hobby for me. Still, I don't think anybody needs to have an inside knowledge of art to know what is good and what is bad. The "subjectivity" crap has gone on long enough, we need substance, not pseudo-intellectual wanking.

  • As artists, we should all be doing our best to put something useful into the world, something that speaks to people, and to inspire others who want to create. Not to debase standards and to ignore generations, if not centuries of artistic development in favour for something populist and spiritually unfulfilling.

  • CORRECT, I am a artist my self, And beleive me my work does have substance, its more traditional oil painting and illustrative too.

you sound very intelligent, a musician wow, I had a violin but never played it!

but you speak in great depth.

  • Well that's great! I have no problem with artists who create works worthy of true merit. It's just the conceptual stuff like messy beds with deliberately "provocative" undercurrents that put a bad taste in my mouth. I just don't feel there's a whole lot of craft involved either, hence the reason I mentioned a debasing of artistic standards...

Thank you for your kind words. I never could paint with oils, that talent completely eluded me (as many others have!)

  • too right

  • if i had got my book signed by tracey i would have asked, what did you have for breakfast!!!!!!!!!! so boring book signing!

  • I like her regardless!

  • READ STRANGELAND!

  • Sexiest 'gallery artist' that ever lived; props, Trace, but her 'art' is a bit mentalist rubbish, innit?! But she is so fine... about time for a Playboy interview/cerntrefold methinks...

  • :) BABY LIGHT MY FIRE.....

  • there are so many artists in this world, that are so individual to one another, so much strength so much persona, there lives are quite deep sometimes sad cursed or to carry great depression, and with these kind of influences they turn out very different, you have maruja mallo, with her magnificant portraits, depicting grace, beauty, dali a great surealists, soft watches, extremly marvelous, tracey emin, the quotes in her works which are very much so the artists trade mark.

  • I find her very strangely sexy and attractive and love how her mouth has a slight kink of an angle to it as she speaks. Overall, I'm quite drawn towards her. Wish I could meet her, I've been through art school myself and appreciate all forms of art.

  • Is this what Art has come to. I can't see Picasso doing this. Or Bacon . Or Loiuse Borgeoise. Too busy making Art !

  • FARNISHK: SO TRUE.

  • Margate people refer to her as "Our Trace" which I think is lovely. She comes across as a genuinely nice person who wants her art to talk to people.

  • Her gut was showing.

  • What gut? Gutgut ot Gutgutgutgut?

  • no doubt all these comments come from uneducated sepos... who wouldn't know art if it smacked them between the eyes. Tracey is an artist who is not afraid to confront reality - perhaps you should try it

  • I do know Art jmpix13, thats exactly the reason I think tracy emin is a fraud. How can you honestly produce a messy bed, filled with condoms and dirty knickers to the public? put it in a museum and honeslty call it art? Those are the actions of a mentally ill woman in my eyes.

And Tracy emin is as uneducated as they get.

  • She's the one that's richer & she's about as deep as a puddle.

Popularity is no guide to quality, the Trustees of the Tate ignored Picasso & Dali, some experts. They will fall for any old irrelevant juvenile twaddle, regardless of merit

It's ground to a halt, you need more than grounding to get off the ground floor, to break new ground you need to be well grounded, then you'll hold your own ground, otherwise, your Art will be groundless.

  • cylynt1, perhaps you should look into the meanings behind Emin's work, especially ones like 'My Bed' and you'll see that Emin is very much a deep artist, no matter what you may think of her work.

  • "Hellter Fu[k!ng Skelter,

    When rats sh!t,

    Burn in hell you b!t[h,

    you [unt,

people like you need to fu[k people like me,

I smell every time I open my legs an incredible stench of sex fills the room" (Tracey Emin)

These titles are pretty deep, eloquent, and classy too. I tentatively study her work and I understand the meaning. I wanted to appreciate it but no intelligent person with morals can appreciate such vulgar, shock-value, disgusting work.

  • She may use shock and bad language in her art, but that's REAL LIFE! And that's why I appreaciate her work so much. She could make a piece that's aesthetically pleasing and with a lovely title, but instead she's decided to convey her true honest feelings and what society means to her. And in my opinion that is commendable and worthy of praise.

But it's not up to you to judge if anyone's intellegent or morally sound for either liking Emin's work or not. That's not fair.

  • You're right, I shouldn't judge. However, would you take your kids/grandparents to a Tracey Emin show? I meant to say,no intelligent person with morals would MAKE work like Emin's work. It's not the fault of her fans that they want more vulgarity, shock, filth, and disgusting images. It is human nature to want to be exposed to such taste. It is easy to create and appreciate a tasteless hostile spectacle. However, it is difficult to appreciate a virtuous, benevolent, morally good nature work

  • @RhysAneurin couldnt agree more :)

  • Yes I think Tracey Emin is one of the finest book signers this century has produced. Just such a poignant clip with the touching Feliciano music. I think the moment she kisses the punter is so moving. Tracey looks like the chick down at my laundromat.

  • Tracy Emin is living proof that you can be sucessfull without actually having any real talent.

  • Exactly! Her work is disgraceful! It pretends to be art when its just lazy, random GARBAGE!! It adds to the degeneration of modern art. Why do we want to ruin one of the few good things we have in life by praising pretentious artists!?

  • fatscumfilth: I like her art, who cares if its lies or if she just does it for fame....isnt that partly the nature of all art?

  • I love Tracey! She's been so clever about her career -what a presence!

  • I love her! Tracey's my favourite cunt.

  • jesus, what a depressing tune....tracy rocks..raw

  • Thanks!! Yes, "captivated" is the right word. I think it was a memorable (and very rare) event, and my intention for posting this clip was to give an "unfiltered, real life" view on Tracey.

  • Was you captivated by her presence, or did you intend to make a such a lenghy vidoe for a study of her? Either way it works well, especially with music.

  • I have seen Tracey's video arts in Istanbul.

    She is beautiful.

    İstanbul'da Tracey'nin sanat videolarını gördüm.

    Tracey güzel kadın.

  • zomg wtf!

  • whats the music?

  • The songs are performed by Jose Feliciano, the album is "Feliciano!"

  • Cool cats :P
