Stanley, did you see Musashi's one posting where MT notes the honors awarded Kevin Maynor? Musashi Tzu from posts, really cognizant of music. My own humble opinion, from the little I've heard tonight, Kevin Maynor is the best bass alive. Inever thought I'd hear a voice as great as Paul Robeson. I too, am going to try and obtain all his cds. Except I saw warning posted that one comapny wasn't paying royalties. Many many thanks for both posting and comments!

So someone else thinks he's the best bass alive? So I'm NOT nuts! Thanks for posting, I simply haven't reached around to collecting all his CDs yet. But it's on my list. Near the top.

My favorite CD of his is "Paul Robeson Remembered", its a really heartfelt tribute. Especially in the negro spirituals, where you can absolutely feel Kevins connection to his people and his god.
