@headacherack since these are dark windows as you can see there black its always good to prep them with white paint . It make the colors Pop if not the colors will be muted down . And how can there be a christmas without cheery colors?
a amonia based product works great windex. or get a bucket with amonia and warm water and soak the painting .get a widow razor blade scraper and some extra blades . The paint will come off in pieces
Find a glass window somewhere around the house . Grab a crayon sketch your image roughly on the window. As you can see i white out the window first so the colors will pop. Then i paint the colors lightest color first, and when im done i outline all my work with a dark color.
Most important is to have fun and remember this is usually a temp mural.
