I seem to recall the republicans did nothing but cheer when Americans lost job opportunities when the Olympic bid fell through. Given the behavior of the republican party I no longer trust them.

Well, no republicans cheered, but the Olympics has a track record of doing more harm than good economically for the cities. Not to mention the majority of Chicagoins didn't want the damn Olympics.

...my Dad's Family has about 35+ acres of High Bank sound WaterFront that has been owned since just after the civil war. They are all barely able to pay the taxes. It was divided over 70 years ago into 5 parcels and they would never even be able to keep this Land and their homes if these TAX TAX TAX begins to strangle them and their paychecks. Obama is doing exactly what we in our family feared and discussed a YEAR ago!......we all worried he would start to focus on ESTATES as a way to get MONEY

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid refused to look back at Regan's policies and use what worked then. Obama's health care bill and cap and trade carbon tax bill have scared employers. They won't expand, invest, or hire people until they know how much these bills will cost them.
