UKW reminds me of the old british 'wreslin' they have a bloke called butcher who wrestles in a butchers aprin... UKW is on telly aswell on sky 219 and fit finlay is coming back to the uk to wrestle in VPW which has signed with sky 219 ... Shame though there are much better uk promotions than those two.
there just a pair of fat wasters the only good round i seen then was the size of there impressive wastelines see the state of those kicks when he was lying on the deck hahaha good job pay per view wasnt about in those days
@GoodFaithEducation Wrestlers are athletes and entertainers. As a matter of fact, Giant Haystacks also had something of an acting career. A truly great man, sorely missed.
dont call wrestling a sport its a joke just like the fools that believe and and follow it...good for kids but watching grown ups standing screaming makes me think..mental home calling
Two giants of my childhood memories. Like watching an old Godzilla movie, as two huge monters battle it out and take turns to reel from eachothers punches. Solid gold family entertainment that I will never forget.
Someone should ressurect British Wresling to rival American, Mexican & Japanese Wrestling. If I won the Nat Lottery Euromillions (£163m) I would certainly do that & bring Wade Barrett, British Bulldog, Dynamite Kid, Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, William Regal, Sheamus (Seamus), and all the other British Talent back to the UK. I would then have John Motson as the lead commentator with Gorilla Monsoon as the co anchor. I would be the owner.
@carpdiem88 It would like more than a euromillions lottery jackpot win to bring bring Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, British Bulldog and Gorilla Monsoon back from the dead.
Wrestling is done a flat mat with a circle painted on it, or sometimes on grass as in the Highland Games. Wrestling is NOT done in a boxing ring. Those geezers are theatrical ring fighters, NOT wrestlers! British drama, not British wrestling. British wrestlers would shoulder throw these actors and pin them in less than 10 seconds. To call these two-bit actors "wrestlers" demeans true wrestlers, their coaches, and athletes of other true sports.
Oh fuck off no one is saying it's a sport. Wrestlers are performers but there not actors. Calling them actors is like calling a dancer or an acrobat or a stuntman an actor.
Do you know what real wrestling (or anny real combat sport for that matter) is? It's boring it looks like two guys rolling around groping each other or in the case of boxing and UFC one guy gets a solid hit in and the other one is down for the count.
Theatrical ring fighers are NOT wrestlers; they are actors! And poor ones at that. Big Daddy doesn't know a wrist lock from a wrist watch.
ATTENTION ROYAL ANTHROPOLOGICAL SOCIETY: International wrestling is NOT sport; it is theatre. When doing the anthropology of sport, DO NOT include cheap theatre. REMEMBER: if you see 'wrestlers' in a boxing ring, they are NOT athletes; they are actors.
Real wrestlers from the U.K. can be seen in the Olympics and include Wolve's Amarjit Singh.
@GoodFaithEducation who are you to tell us what is and isn't wrestling, who are you to disrespect british wrestling, who are you to call it 'theatre' and 'not real'....I actually work for a british wrestling company and i can tell you, the pain is as real as it gets, and i have to ask you this, what wrestling experience do you have?......if you don't care for it fair enough, but don't you dare tell us what wrestling is
Theatrical ring fighers are not wrestlers; they are actors! And poor ones at that. Big Daddy doesn't know a wrist lock from a wrist watch.

@GoodFaithEducation: One question I have to ask. Have you ever seen what pro-wrestlers have done to people outside wrestling in the past? One example is that Giant Haystacks bodyslammed a TV presenter for questioning Wrestling and the presenter was on the ground for a good 30 seconds.
i guess there's only so long two fat gets can run about. 3 mins tops I'd say. me and my nan loved this nonsense when i was a kid. what was it about 70s british wrestling that attracted the very young and the very old but noone in between?
I'm kind of amazed these are the "Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair" of their day. These guys are fat, visually unappealing, pretty much out of shape. Its just amazing that these are considered "fine atheletes of British professional wrestling", with no intention of malice held against either of them from me.
@LordKalbert Most people in wrestling (WWE etc) aren't good wrestlers. . . Ric Flair was far from good, and Hogan was no way near . . an example of a good wrestler would be Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Finlay (Fit Finlay in the 70's) . . . but the reason Hogan and Flair were so popular in their day was because of the entertainment they provided to the fans. Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks were hugely entertaining, thats why they are considered English Legends.
@hiphopf0reva I always thought Ric Flair was good wrestler. He wasn't great but he was better than most. Hogan though, I'm well aware. Ric Flair and Hogan also didn't look like hogs. However I see a little Hogan and Flair in Big Daddy ;)
@nonevideoable: Well Giant Haystacks was billed at 6"11 wheras Big Show is billed 7". You can compare them wif you look for The Giant vs Loch Ness in WCW
@nonevideoable yeh haystacks was bigger pretty much apart from the 1inch height difference, Haystacks was 690pounds and 6 foot 11, Big Show is 7foot and around 460-470 pounds
