28 ft Great Whites likely exist - Hypothesis. the males bite hold of the females pilot and dorsal fins during mating, lining up sex organs. for this to be preferable, he needs to be around two thirds her lenght. they caught and tagged a 5.5 ( 18ft ) MALE on national geographic channel this year. this would put this male's perfect matching at 27 to 28 ft. where there's one 18ft male, there's likely 20 more out there mabye, especially with them being protected.

That's absolutely a white! and a fatty!! Just watched another video of an OBX white just 11 miles off of Rodanthe... these may be pregnant females as they're unusually round... scientists don't know a whole lot about the mating and birthing habits of white sharks, and these videos could provide insight as to where Atlantic whites mate or give birth... I live on the OBX... exciting that something like this may be happening right in our backyard!

I am a dumbas as well, watched it again, i see no white at belly. gill slits nearly to top of back, brown color, im thinking basking shark but hard to say from poor veiw. Also notice a guy comments"megamouth" . Look at videos of basking sharks feeding.From this video i dont see how Stanford could say for sure. But Bull shark? C'mon. If the guys on the boat saw white belly then its a white.

Ok, here's the deal with the shark. It is a Great White. We took pictures of it from the boat and the captain sent them to Stanford University to have them confirm it was a Great White.

They told him and I quote:

"It is a Great White, it is a little over 19' long and about 2,400lbs."

At the time we took the video it was the first one seen that far north in the Outer Banks in about 5 years.

You are an idiot.The largest bull shark ever caught was a preg. female caught in South Africa and it was only 13ft long. The largest tiger shark would have given this shark a run for its money it was caught in 1957 and was a female @ 25ft long but usually not over 15ft. The head of the shark in the vid is shaped like a bullet and both a tiger and a bull are squared so def a white.
