Thank you very much for your comments, Chordwayze. The funny thing is that I never heard anything by Van Eps until a few months ago on YouTube. But about 30 years ago I read an interview with him in Guitar Player magazine, and when he talked about his counterpoints I thought "How wonderful that must sound. I think I'll try that." So I was influenced by Van Eps without ever hearing a note by him until a few months ago. And it's wonderful to me that you've noticed it.
