Well just like civil organizations the army has to advertise unless you want a draft. Someone has to protect the country. And about them advertizing on shows that have nothing to do with it is one of the most blinded comments ive read. Commercials never do that, you'll end up getting commercials about drunk driving, dish soap, and boneless chicken in the same segment. I'd love the see the show that all of them are bundled with. Think before writing next time.
The Military is a great way to go for a lot of People. For example, I just retired from the AF with 20 Years of service. In that time I received my Master's degree (AF paid for) spend 8 years in Las Vegas, 4 years in Europe traveling and 4 years in San Antonio among others. These are all great experiences that I recieved. Went through great leadership training and the end result is a retirement paying for my house, greatly reduced medical coverage. Finally I was able to land a good job.

Army sucks. You have 100s of bosses no matter where you're at or what you're doing. That shit gets old. I would never stay in for 30 years just so that I could really be in charge some day. The civilian world is much more effective in how they structure their organizations. The army should get with the times and learn something new for a change.

In case you weren't aware, many of the top US companies structure there leadership from the Army's leadership Doctrine. No matter what job(unless you run your own business) you will have a lot of bosses. Every career has a chain of command, not just the military. If they didn't no work would get done.
