  • first two seconds i thought they were going to tango. It takes 2 to tango right?

  • lol

  • who clinches like that??

  • it is not a clinch they hug each other

  • Totally stupid. I'm doing MuayThai and I never clinches like that before.

  • good

  • FOOLS FLAPPING STUPID JAWS , LITTLE BOYS KNOWING NOTHING .

JUST TO WHAT MASTER GREG NELSON SAYS !

IT IS PAINFULLY OBVIOUS EVER ONES LACK OF SKILLS IN GRECO ROMAN AND THAI CLENCH . THEY BOTH SHARE VERY MUCH INDEED.

FIND A ENGLISH SPEAKING GRECO ROMAN COACH AND LEARN THE NECESSARY MOVES TO TRANSITION INTO THAI CLENCH..

THERE ARE MORE LATENT G-R COACHES ABOUT THAN YOU RELIASE..

CANT ACCEPT G-R HAS POTENTIAL FOR THAI CLENCH THEN SUFFER INFINATLY ..

NO MORE GAME BOY OR ACTION FIGURE

  • When it's for keeps the guy will go full tilt for your balls. Knees and balls go together like ham and eggs.

  • they are mma fighters ;)

  • what the hell kind of a clinch is that

  • Nice..I just dont care wtf is this people writing, when a fight comes the practical and efficient moves are the most useful. that means If it works use it...

  • By the way, the counter for the person on the left is to relax his right arm, pull it away from the opponent, and re-pummel while squaring up again. Whether you pummel inside or outside depends on the opponent, but usually I find it easier to pummel outside first because my opponents often block me from pummeling inside to take double neckties. Relaxing is key. Sometimes when I'm tired I get caught by this for a 5-10 seconds until I remember to relax. I often take a few knees in the process!

  • I'm confused by the comments suggesting this is not a Muay Thai technique. It is actually quite common, although I agree with LtRt in that usually people grab the arm or shoulder instead of the hip. You simply block the opponent's arm as they try to pummel and then take the side. It is useful against someone who predictably pummels for double neckties, and is exerting too much power.

  • Instead you could grab hold of their head and swing them to the corresponding side they knee with. If they knee with their right knee, swing them left.Or you could close in EXTREMELY close or throw elbows to the face when they clinch you

  • its not for thai boxers dummy its for self defense

  • great- it's common- now show where Thai boxers use this.

  • who is this guy teaching?

  • you wanna know how to defend against clinch knees? Get and hold hand positioning advantage and stay close to your opponent, then if you wanna throw one, push them back a bit and down into your knee

  • what did he even do to make him fall he did it to quick and their not even holing each other in the clinch right

  • he raised his over knee into his lower back, lifted it and pushed him down with his arms

  • No, he actually knees the back of his thigh. All his weight is going into the knee and his momentum is going forward, therefore his balance relies solely on his support leg which is taken out/buckled by the knee to the back of the thigh.

  • It doesn't look familiar because you usually see a person in Greg Nelson's (on right) position with the right arm over the left arm of his opponent.

It's a variation of a VERY common position you see in Thailand. Maybe if this video showed the sequence of clinches before this clinch it would make more sense.

  • a true thaiboxer would NEVER clinch on a side, for this very reason. Amateur level mistakes.

  • Puuuuutos

  • Yeah this would work on someone who sucks at the clinch and would put themselves in that position.

  • no one clinches like that, i'm sorry. if you'll try clinching me like that, i'll move to the proper clinching position, which is front on and with my hands around the back of your head. from that position, this throwing thing won't work

  • it works in mma

from a single leg, scramble or wizard

  • You're right. The clinch in this video, somehow, looks weird to me!!! I've never seen any Muay Thai fighters clinching like that.

  • good stuff

  • It is better to train than it is to read about it, Then you may understand what is actually happening.

  • hehehehehhehe

    Brazil...

    But where are they training?

  • the flag behind them is from my country :)

    BRASIIIIL and muay thai 4ever!!

  • If you're clinching me like that, you'll get knoctouted by my elbow hahahahaha

  • BRASIL,SIL,SIL,SIL !!!

  • their was a knee strike..

  • hm.. better camera??!?!?!?!!

  • fuck, kneeing the enimy sideways auiauhhaiuha

be serious, you should learn real Muay Thai/ Muay Boran instead of giving bad tips, bad and uneficient

  • dont be so ignorant, this is just one useful tip. there are many others he could show you but he's probly got classes to teach or something. Besides Muay Boran is an ancient thai maratime death art, not a sport.

  • uhhh scaryy

  • you're the ignorat son. that would noy happen in a real fight situation, only in your fantastic dream.

    dream on, beliving is good.

  • ur wrong, ive seen a lot of muay thai fights, me and my friend both train muay thai, it is actually a practical tip when used in tandem with other techniques

  • ok then, as you say.

  • Thai fighters do this a lot. There are a lot of variations, but basically, is to take advantage of the opponent weak balance, standing in one leg.

How can this be that bad?

  • This is actually very easy and extremely effective. Its not much different than a foot sweep off a leg catch, just takes a better sense of rhythm for execution.

  • did you know that one of rampage's ribs got broken by one of this sideways knees

  • ya kno, this vid will be a whole lot better if the guys didnt exchange hits B4 defense techniques, if u kno the guy is gonna launch a knee to ur abs, block that first and then counter with the leg sweep with the other leg, but do it fast!

  • That would make it unrealistic imo. Only WWF know what your enemy is going to launch at you.

  • first off, the guys in the vid are in a Muy Thai Clinch, meaning the a knee launch is more probable to hit the abs or face if the opponent pulls ur head towards them or the other way around (you pull them). I dunno about you, but when that happens in competitions, I automatically protect my face and tighten abs first.

  • lol Believe, we knee so fast and so strong. If you miss and get hit by knee onyl once, you won't have any power left to do that and you'll get being knee until get KO

I sugeest you to use elbow is much better....

  • You probably knee so fast and so strong that you would break your opponent in two. Ok, we got it, but maybe some merely mortals, low skilled, newbie nak muay could try to use this counter (unless we are sparring you, which will our last sparring on earth).

  • braziiil

  • nice

  • cool I'll try to use that in my next fight lol
