I think that Robert would have loved this showing of his work. He WANTED people to see it SO desperately if you read Patti Smith's new book that it is out "Just Kids" about the two of them. It's a Memoir to him. Tells a lot about her but that puts all of this into even more sense. I think the song is so appropriate for this showing of his work and all of it is just gorgeous beyond words.

Formidable video sobre algunas fotografías de Mapplethorpe. pienso que se encuentra entre lo prosaico y lo sublime, entre lo profano y lo sagrado entre lo dionisíaco y lo apolíneo. Me hace acordar muchísimo a una fotógrafa alemana que filmó ,as Olimpíadas de 1936 cuyo nombre lamentablemente no recuerdo, ella admiraba muchísismo las formas y el uso de la luz en la foto otra genia a pesar de haber trabjado para un dictador. Muchas gracias por compartir tu video.

woah. amazing photos, ridiculous skill. the song choice gives the photo series a deep seriousness. the scorpion at 2:45 freaked me out though because that in particular is creepy considering it's placement. LOVE the flowers at 3:17 !!!

... di questo artista avevo visto una mostra molto bella è completa a Palazzo Grassi a Venezia (mi pare?), tengo un catalogo fantastico dove appunto ci sono anche queste sue foto che ben presenti,

ottima idea e risultato finale con musica adeguata...

Anche in questo periodo è in corso in Italia una mostra dedicata a Mapplethorpe. E' a Firenze presso la Galleria dell'Accademia dove sta il David di Michelangelo. La scelta della location non è certo casuale: lo scopo è stato anche quello di mettere in relazione con la scultura antica il carattere 'scultoreo' della sua fotografia. Io ho fatto una selezione di immagini che potessero ben rappresentare la sua arte, evitando quelle troppo trasgressive...
