  • OMG!!!!....THIS WAS THE SHIT, BACK IN DAY, DUDE!.

  • Wow! I would totally love to see these guys do this live!

  • genial !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the best version of this song I have heard. Thanks for putting it up here newfunkswing.

    BBBB

  • This sounds like 2004 Montreux concert. Jerry Barnes on bass. I think considering the gap he's trying to fill, he does an excellent job. You gotta see this concert on DVD in full and you will see really how good this line up of CHIC is.

  • Probably one of the greatest rhythm sections there's ever been: Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson. The feeling they had was incredible. Rest in peace, guys.

  • @flicker66 Hi, this track features Jerry Barnes on bass and Omar Hakim on drums. It's from the 20004 Montreux Jazz Festival.

  • Yes Luther sure did sing background on a lot of the Chic hits. I read all of the credits and recognized his name when he struck out on his own, like Norma Jean Wright.

  • This is awesome! I remember this from back in the day sho nuff!!! Nothing out there today to compare to this!!! It is priceless and ageless!!! RIP Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson.

  • luther vandross sing background on a many of chic hits.

  • Thanks for the download; sounds like 'you are my sunshine and happiness'!

  • Bravooo Chic.

  • I have always felt that Change was a Chic cloned Band BUT a Damn Good One at that, Chic was a Classy Disco Band. I truly liked their style. R.I.P Bernard.

  • so cool!!!

  • JUSTICE sampled this song for their remix of As Above So Below

  • In connection with Change's song, I think it was Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who produced that one. But on a positive tip, the impression I get when listening to it is that Jimmy and Terry were simply making the statement: " Change is greatly a Chic-influenced band. So hey, let's go ahead, let the world know it and simply give Chic some propers here ! "

  • have you noticed how Change of heart by Change totally steals the tune for the verses from the verses in this song

  • same producers??

  • @hilpp don't think so, Change were just hughley inspired by Chic, at times u keep hearing little Chic-isms in Change

  • and Luther Vandross' Shine has the same tune too lol

  • Missing bernard seriously....... and so is this band!

    nard' was the daddy!

  • @dsrduff Yes he was!! It will never be the same without him!!

  • ok just to clarify..I LOVE Bernard Edwards bass playing and that incredible tone he has on the chic recordings..however I hate "new" chic..it's just a personal thing..Bernard and Tony Thompson (along with Nile..who's awesome btw) had a fantastic dynamic in the studio..the new touring band with different drummer and bassist just dosent have the same feel imo..and I just dont like the bassist..sorry

  • I don't anything wrong with how the bass player is playing lol

  • goddamn that bass player is wreckin my head..the feel is all wrong and he's missing half the notes..other than that it's not bad

  • Whilst I respect your views, it's the way Chic played, this is what stood them out from the crowd.

  • bootry butt boy- you are a fucking idiot to say that-who the hell are you to critique one of the best bass players ..........ever---NOONE compares to him--NOONE..fool

  • yeah bernard edwards was one of the best bass players ever..this isnt bernard edwards playing on this

  • oh yeah fenderlee..you do realise that Bernard Edwards died in 1996 right?..and you call me a fool?...muppet

  • They still sound bloody fine

  • major goosebumps @ 0:07

  • amazing performance wow

  • wow,

    thats deep.....

I was like six years old when this was hot....

I rember like it was this afternoon!

  • on my way to Cyprus with Army in 1979 it brings back the Memories
