This sounds like 2004 Montreux concert. Jerry Barnes on bass. I think considering the gap he's trying to fill, he does an excellent job. You gotta see this concert on DVD in full and you will see really how good this line up of CHIC is.
Probably one of the greatest rhythm sections there's ever been: Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson. The feeling they had was incredible. Rest in peace, guys.
Yes Luther sure did sing background on a lot of the Chic hits. I read all of the credits and recognized his name when he struck out on his own, like Norma Jean Wright.
This is awesome! I remember this from back in the day sho nuff!!! Nothing out there today to compare to this!!! It is priceless and ageless!!! RIP Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson.
I have always felt that Change was a Chic cloned Band BUT a Damn Good One at that, Chic was a Classy Disco Band. I truly liked their style. R.I.P Bernard.
In connection with Change's song, I think it was Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who produced that one. But on a positive tip, the impression I get when listening to it is that Jimmy and Terry were simply making the statement: " Change is greatly a Chic-influenced band. So hey, let's go ahead, let the world know it and simply give Chic some propers here ! "
ok just to clarify..I LOVE Bernard Edwards bass playing and that incredible tone he has on the chic recordings..however I hate "new" chic..it's just a personal thing..Bernard and Tony Thompson (along with Nile..who's awesome btw) had a fantastic dynamic in the studio..the new touring band with different drummer and bassist just dosent have the same feel imo..and I just dont like the bassist..sorry
bootry butt boy- you are a fucking idiot to say that-who the hell are you to critique one of the best bass players ..........ever---NOONE compares to him--NOONE..fool

goddamn that bass player is wreckin my head..the feel is all wrong and he's missing half the notes..other than that it's not bad

Whilst I respect your views, it's the way Chic played, this is what stood them out from the crowd.
