no there not saying to do away with taxes. You should really do some research on what your talking about. TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!! that is what the protest is about. The EXACT issue that caused early Americans to revolt against the British. Of course we must have taxes, but the people have a right to know exactly where our money is going and how it is used. If our taxes were going to police, schools, and ect as you say there would be no protest.

Of course you can't abolish all taxes - that's ridiculous. These tea parties aren't a protest of all taxes, and especially not taxes for the important things you've listed - they're protesting high taxes and the absolutely ridiculous ways in which so much of OUR money is being spent.

Do some research on these tea parties. You, too, can't bash something without knowing a little bit about it.
