  • What size is it looks like a 12 inch

  • What the name of music so cool I need to know

  • Ah, the sirupate, somewhat "slim" but still cuts like its bigger, better known ghurka brother.

  • chur mean alrite

  • the ultimate kitchen utensil

  • this is pure art skill and knife porn and i have a feeling that you could do this with a spork, if needed :D

  • Don't waste the head! That's the best part!

  • try to peel potatoes with it.

  • @thecook all cook shows shud be like that!

  • proof that the khukuri can even be used for this.

  • Very cool.

I am trying to do the same... but damned: Female Opposition...

  • you can use this knife to cut off your penis and become a tranny.

  • Always remember to take care of the blade after cutting acidic foods such as oranges and onions. Kukris are commonly made of high-carbon steel, which means that they are not as resistant as stainless steel against corrosion.

  • Can't think of a better way to get proficient with what can be an intimidating blade to use. Kids, just remember swinging it, heavy, not across the body and into your leg.

  • Nice knife work. Will give my HI Sirupati a try next time I clean an Ahi.

  • I love ghurka kukris. They hold a damn fine edge and will cut a zombies freakin head off in one half assed swipe..:D

  • khukuri power.............great video

  • damn u aren't a chick

  • Oh Lord!!! As we use to say here in Brazil: "this guy really know how to play with a knife". Nice knife...You gotta good skills with it.

  • i do the same with my kabar works good

  • lol . is not the knife . it is your skill .

  • @osmiu It's a great slicing knife, possibly the best design for slicing.

    and yes, he is skilled.

  • for more information on khukuris and the gurkhas,

watch these 2 videos -->|Khukuri| History of National Weapon of Nepal, Symbol of Gurkhas

and ---> Way of the Gurkha Warrior

  • @diliprai They fought with aussies in Papua (Kakoda Track). Not sure of the specifics but my grandfather (a shipright) used to be stationed near their billet south of Moresby. Says that while in camp most of the time was spent tending to their Kukri, always sure to give them a "drink" when finished sharpening. Somehow I ended up with one of their blades at age 9 via a pig hunter near Darwin.

  • I've never seen someone use a Khukri to cut food

  • umm my grand father is also good in khukuri...both in kitchen and in war field

  • i use one in my Kitchen to

  • do you recall what model that khukuri is? or at least the size of the blade?

PS: cheers on your cooking skills mate! nice video

  • what a beautiful khukuri, and amazing knife skills!

  • damn that shit looks good

  • Comment removed

  • great knife handling and cutting skills taking some pointers down

  • This is like the 100th time I've seen a fish gutted, and I still don't know if they actually have organs. How are they alive?

  • @trazac That's a fish being filleted, not gutted. It's guts have already been removed here. I've filleted a fish right after it's been caught, and believe me, they're filled with organs (and blood and piss and eggs and all that).

  • wow!!! a sharp knife is useful as a kitchen utensil!!! before watching this video, I never would have guessed!!!!!!

  • what is your method of honing to get your kukri that sharp and are u using a convex grind ?

  • I've never cut up a fish but where were all the guts and stuff /:;

  • @goronsrcool guts are back down at the wharf being eaten by pelicans, or in your fish burger from MacDonalds, yes fish do have organs :-)

  • WOW that Kukri is freaking sharp what kind of steel is it!

  • nice

  • i clicked on this video just so i can see how lame it was going to be... i finished watching this video because without paying attention to the knife but rather the cutting skills, two thumbs up.. Rock On!!

  • Love it

  • Mad knife skills! Really enjoyed watching your talents.

    Thanks

  • what method do you use to sharpen your kurki

  • YUMMY!!!

  • ....THAT....IS....A....BIG....SALMON.....0_0

  • Exellent!

  • Anybody who says a big blade can't do fine work should get sent a a link to this video. Argument: over. Great stuff.

  • Thanks, I learned a thing or too from your vid, excellent job like the song.

  • Hey chef, what happened to the old music??? That was "in your face" stuff, just like that HI WWII...

  • 3:29 hey ur blockin the view of slauter at its finest

  • i need one of them apples

  • I like the music..what's the title and who's playin?

  • GAHHHHH!!!! Did you just throw that skin away?!!!!.....two words my man....Toaster Oven!!!!! Man, salmon rinds THE best!!!!

  • These blades are awesome.

  • This is the Ang Khola ?

  • Wow nice indeed.

  • Looks like an original KHK khukukri.

I know that the kukri is great when chopping frozen pork ribs.

  • to see the sheer power of khukri and skill of gurkha when they handle it, watch this video ===> "way of the gurkha warrior"

  • what a beautiful weapon and tool

  • Makes me want a Khukuri even more than I already did. And some pineapple. Best Khukuri video on youtube, IMO. Better demo of what they can do than all the chopping videos combined.

  • well done

  • After that pineapple did you got alot of stain on the blade? and if so how did you got it off.. i cut a pineapple with my kukri and it had alot of stain on it, i got it off but it was a pain in the a**..

  • thats one good lookin fish

  • What's the name of this song???

  • I'm impressed. You wouldn't think that a knife like that would be very efficient in the kitchen, but Damn.

  • lmao

  • Every married man's job.

    I'm a man too...

  • i cut up pizzas with a kabar kukri

  • That fish would have made really good soup.

  • wow! altro che miracleblade!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wish i had a cutting board that large

  • Awesome! :-) Good job! :-)

  • Great video, I have had a WWII for years, great blade.

  • just curious but what kind of fish were you using so that people get a general idea....

  • The fish is a Loch Duart Atlantic salmon. This particular specimen was probably in the twelve pound range.

  • @thecook Are there salmon in the Atlantic or is that farmed?

  • all i can say is awesome job, I would have thought a khukuri would have been too thick to properly fillet, I was wrong.

  • That's Awsome

  • pretty good cutting up that fish, looks like a nice knife, want to give me?

  • You've got some knife skills!

  • this khukuri is i think Shirupatha if you want buy khukuri ask shirupatha khukuri to nepalese people

  • It looks like the ang khola with the horn handle. the sirupati is not as broad.

  • jajajaja cool

  • Lovely demo

  • I just bought a villager finish WWII from HI.

    Can't wait to cut things.

  • butchers use them in nepal

  • I'd like to try that, but I'm afraid to cut myself. It's pretty sharp.

  • WW2?

  • @gorzinplatz

Yes. 17" OAL by Sher Kami.

  • For kitchen use my 12" Bura Pen knife works pretty well. The Foxy Folly would work good as well, not as heavy as a WW2.

  • Speaking from experience: clean and oil your traditional kukri blade very well immediately after cutting onions! Don't forget it is not made from stainless steel.

  • Thats Some Unusual but Nice Work There So Whats Next Making A Sanwich With A Samurai Sword!!! It Slices It Dices It Takes The Heads of Guests......Great Vid

  • impressive cutting

  • that fish looked good :P

  • Awesome !!!!

    5*'s

  • nice ive started use my khukuri on veg.i have about ten of them only use new ones they are very good for lots of tasks.

  • really impressive

  • When doing dicing like with the onion, you're supposed to hold it from the center top part of the blade, otherwise it's pretty tricky to control as you've demonstrated. Cool video though!

  • shit iv been staring at this way to longggg but i did learn. that " i can do what ever i liike" nice song

  • if i could i make pancakes with a kukri

  • Awesome skills handling such a large heavy blade with great control.

  • I couldn't find the post again at HI, but that is a hoot! Very impressive work using a blade that's really designed for chopping. I'd have to really sharpen my kukri up to skin salmon like that effectively.

  • im hungry now

  • SLICE N DICE!!!!

    nice vid

  • i was wunderin, what wer u gna make with those ingredients, lol

  • Wow, sure was a big fish.

  • I recall when you linked this video on the HI forum... since then I've followed the lead in a way and used all kids of unorthodox blades in my kitchen. If they get the job done, and are fun to use, why not?

  • sweet

  • well, it was meant to be the all around knife when given to civilians?

only thing it can't do is extreme light work, that's what the karda(small knife that comes with most kukris) is for.

  • Although historically the Gurkhas would draw this weapon and charge the enemy with them if they ran out of ammo, it is now used more for eating and cooking.

It is said of the khukuri that if it is drawn it must taste blood before it is returned to it's scabbard.

Gurkha motto "It is better to die than live as a coward" No wonder they are the toughest regiment the British army has.

  • Great vid. Imo the Khukuri is the best knife in the world. I love them.

  • I'm hungry.

  • Wow you can prepare a Salmon with extreme precision, well done lol

Its put me in the mood for food now

  • where the hell does all this gay music come from lol

  • Nice video and good exhibition of Knife. The fish is my favourite one he he he he he he he

  • don't tell me you got hit with a copyright violation for the original song? what a joke...

  • you must be a chef

  • sweeeeet!

  • Excellent demo.

    You make it look easy!

    Obviously, practice is necessary.

    Good job!!

  • what kind of grind is on your khukuri? And what do you sharpen it with to make it that sharp?? O.O

  • Very skillful!

  • Impressive!

  • Cooking's a good job mate! Chop chop!

  • broother good jobb !!

    jai nepal; jai gurkha

  • This is really amazing...

  • 超牛

  • nepali use khukuri for household work duh..

  • FUCKIN AMAZING!

HI Kukuris is almost a good addiction

  • That was very cool. Especially since it was done with a WWII model by Sher. My first and favorite Khukuri is an 18" WWII model made by Sher. Gonna add this vid to my favorites. Thanks!

  • wow. nice job on that salmon. pretty impressive... i wonder what my chef would think if i brought in one of my knives... i'm always using a pocketknife to cut fruit anyway. :p

    regardless, 5 stars. cheers!

  • Is it really a good knife for food prep or are you just SO skillful you could fillet a fish with a rolling pin ??

  • Wonderful! you are great!

  • Fantastic!

Now all of my friends want a khukuri.

    What model is that?

  • This is a Himalayan Imports 17 WWII by kami Sher

    Weight - 23oz.

    Spine - 3/8"

Brought it to my kitchen to give the edge a resurfacing on my Edge Pro and it came out so sharp I was inspired to do some food prep with it...

  • it was made for ww2?

    so khukuri v missile?

  • @thecook I've got an HI and a couple KHHi's. I love em! A leather strop with chromium oxide powder on it gets em shaving sharp too.

  • Impressive!!!
