I think that was just an Emperor Coated head. I had a cymbal felt taped down to help control some of the ring on a 14" Yamaha Steel Snare. Thanks for watching.

To me, it sounds like a tambourine is being played during that tom portion but I could be wrong. Since recording this I've thought of trying to play a high hat mounted tambourine to see if I can get a similar effect to the original.

Thanks! Yes, it's an old Zildjian cymbal. I'm not sure of the age or the series but you can still make out the Zildjian stamp on it.

Initially for me it was difficult. I got to a point where I would concentrate on playing a groove more than worrying about what my hands and feet were doing. Then everything started to come together.
