  • especially to 100bipbipbip & PHG...unless you'se an experienced big company airliner pilot or an army one you have to deal with little trouble and a subtle lack of precision. the point is, WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SOLVE A LITTLE TROUBLE ON THE PLANE OR STILL YOU'LL GO ON ADDIN' POST IN YOUTUBE WITH YOUR FEET ON THE GROUND AND ASS ON THE SOFA?Talk is cheap.

  • Overshot the center line but was good any way.

  • Ummm really? Thats what you call good? fuckn crapola.

  • Overshot the centerline on base to final. I got over that during training. Also, forgot to turn the landing light on until after nose gear touchdown. Landing lights help other aircraft to see you in the pattern. Mid-air collisions are not fun.

  • Crappy landing.

  • unplanned base !!! Needed right rudder on flare .. take your time dont let the airplane fly you.

    other wise nice touchdown

  • no way.. your left base was overflown... you were too high on final and too low before runway... your glide path was fucked up.... best pilot my ass!

  • Not the best, he stalled but a tricky approach or did he make it tricky lol

  • Overshot centerline. 4 WHITES = Outta Sight THEN 4 REDS and yer dead. BAD!

  • @ldobranon

    Brother .... you are RIGHT!

AND ....... to go around is at least ok and you show that you are a good and after many years also an old pilot!

Bad and old pilots are very seldom :-)

  • in Germany we say:

  • good landing

  • At least he landed on a runway and not a river like Sully :P

  • first you are too low see papi lights if you dont believe me on final second you will never get in an airline cockpit if your turns on final with speeds up to 145 knots are u are dead hahahahaah

  • @mroa412 to high actually heres how to remember; too much white and youl soon be out of sight

too much red and your soon bump your head lol

  • Apart from flying right through the centreline, getting too high then too low on the glide path, this bloke is what we professionals call mediocre.

  • You were almost abeam to the RWY...

  • Tu te touches pas un peu la bite avec ton titre, m'enfin au moins on sait que c'est Ricains !!!

  • Not the best pilot but a good one

  • fuck all off you! THE BEST PILOTS FLY REAL AIRPLANES AND DONT PLAY FSX!!! everyone judging flying vids, thinking they know everything because they can play fsx, wtf is wrong with you... and dont get me wrong i play fsx too, but i know the difference between fsx and real life

  • the best pilots dont over shoot the runway

  • whatd'ya film this with, a 1971' polaroid movie camera? awful quality. next time, take the trouble since this is 2011, to perhaps use something a bit more 'up to date'. ya think?

  • The best landings are the ones you can walk out of alive.

  • @RYaNmAN2790 ... these are the good landings. Best ones are when you can reuse the plane :-)

  • @RYaNmAN2790 correction i would say as long as you stop it's a good landing XD

  • @RYaNmAN2790 lol wtf is that, who said that, everyone repeats the same crap, The best landings are when you don't even feel the impact of the wheels.

  • @fable2omg That's two videos in a row i've seen you bitching on.

  • 3 things can be improved: Overshot turn to final, unstable glideslope and forgot (?) landing light.

Despite that, great landing on the centerline, on the stall warning and aparently on main gear!

    Happy flying mate

  • Best at what? Correcting an over shot base turn?

  • I can see nobody is satisfied even though i think its pretty cool this fella made a video without shitty music or text all over the place...but just to make it better and extra special so everybody is satisfied next time the pilot should do it blindfolded and holding his breath!...people.

  • Who gives a dam how he did, you moaning pieces of shit, go get a life instead making a load of shit saying "you could of done better"

  • Apparently all the pilots on here could have done a better job huh? I am going to start a business where the product will be a composite of whining, complaining, a healthy dose of "you suck I could have done it better" and general miserableness and negativity. I am hiring all of you. We will be rich beyond comprehension in a matter of days !!!

  • Not so good.

  • Comment removed

  • He's not flying the Concord people! The landing was just fine for type, weather and length of runway. Jesus people get a life! You would complain how many times he blinked his eyelids if you could see them!

  • @bennetardo Bravo! People just can't seem to accept just sitting back and appreciating what a good job this pilot did. All the critique and bullshit.

  • you were too high u jackass!!

  • Not at all the best Pilot landing.... I've seen a lot better. Even though the pilot is not bad considering the cross wind but he still got is stall alarm to go off... The best Pilots dont! But he's still good :-P

  • I always rate a vid claiming to be the best ever of anything a big thumbs DOWN.

  • look to my video im landing a bering smoothly on the white stripes in a to small airport

  • And this is special....why....??? He overshot the runway as bad as a student !!

  • nice HD 1080dpi quality

  • @TheMarksmenCat nice cunt

  • sullenburger is indeed the best pilot ever!,

you are good as a general aviator pilot,

good landing, only youre flight route was a little to high i gues

way to go, you're one of the best "One"(:

  • its funny that your like his mom and saying this

  • Just a shame your camera aint as good as your landing.

  • you most see on you tube (piper landing in San Jose Bolivia) and you will see the best pilot.

  • overshot the turn to final

  • at first he was a little high but he fixed it

  • i love videos filmed with a casio watch..

  • @marshie1337 hahahaha, nicely done.

  • Beautful...

  • To anyone slandering Sully for hitting the flock of birds: At the speed of a jet liner, by the time you can see the birds you are a split second from hitting them. If you were in a fighter jet and lucky enough to see them at the greatest possible distance you might have a very small chance of avoiding them. In a passerger jet there's no chance. The most quick and violent control movements wouldn't be enough to avoid them. There's too much momentum to overcome.

  • Let's see, seriously overshot the turn to final, throttled up on short final, touched down about 200 yards along the runway and didn't remember to turn on his landing light until he was rolling out. Oh yeah, by far, THE VERY BEST pilot in the whole world.

  • Guys... I think whoever put this video on YouTube was related to him or was one of his friends... my friends joke around in the same way ex; "Hey, I'd like to introduce you to my friend Ryan here, AKA Best pilot on earth." So everyone just take a chill pill and relax.

  • very done, just a little late on the turn for final. is that your instructor in the right seat?

  • what plane is it?? piper warrior??

  • Opened your mouth, gave advice you clearly don't know anything about. Probably never flown a plane in your life. Failed maths and physics at school. Fat, ugly and your wife cheats on you. Apart from that, you're the best janitor I know....

  • @jjyss ya i know you failed math and physics in school so now your sitting at home with no job, no wife, and being a a**hole to everyone. Thanks for sharing.

  • Overshot the centerline on the turn to final, but all in all pretty respectable. I'm thinking Captain Sullenberger is the best pilot ever, but I don't have a problem with you being second...

  • @AC6RH He overshot the centreline cause he was too high. If you were looking from above the plane, Dave would have drawn a hook, aka compensate overshooting the runway to decend

If you look at 0:23 you approximate his height and distance.

  • @AC6RH he may have overshot because he was high and used the xtra turn to help descend

  • @AC6RH

Is Captain Sullenberger a good pilot? Yes, he is. Is he the best? Certainly not. He was loosing speed and he didn't do anythig to gain speed again. When his speed should be 200 kts or above, their speed was only 180 kts with no flaps. It is stall speed for that aircraft. If the aircraft was boeing they certainly be dead. Airbus saved them in the first place. If you are looking for a hell of a pilot, try Captain Robert (Bob) Pearson. The Gimli Glider...

  • @Alperakbilgi Anyone who claims to be the best pilot has some mental issues!!!!

Youre only as good as your LAST LANDING!!!!

  • @jefar53 TRUE! :D

  • @jefar53 You've got a point. I think you're right mate. :)

  • Jeez, overshot the centre line, 4 whites correcting to 4 reds...........best pilot ever?

  • @aerodaan exactly.. not to mention floating through the stall warning.... whatever..

  • forgot to put on the landing light but it was all right ....

  • When the stall beep "beeps" it means that you are at right speed to touchdown. nice land you did. congrats.

  • too bumpy

  • Nyc landing....^_^

  • came in a little to high with a cross wind to the left next time turn a little earlier than the the reg 45 to final and as always pitch foreward...not bad

  • this vid is gay

  • @sexmotrone43 you are gay

  • @323tiim yo mamas gay

  • Too high on approach over shot base, brought it together at the which is what counts, seen much better.

  • BEEEEEEEP** STALL!!!

  • THAT WAS STUPID....All it was was a guy landing a plane..people do this every single day. its not that amazing...you are all really dumb for thinking this is that awsome.

  • what? so a380 and fighter pilots arn't more skilled than david, god help us!!

  • I noticed that you came in too fast on approach, you didn't apply enough flaps, and your flux capacitor works best at 88 mph.

  • A little high on approach there big dog.Not the best. But pretty damn good.

    Happy landings.Cheers!

  • OMG that was amazing! I've never seen a landing like this! OMG!^^

  • You use which Joystick

  • That landing was fine - It's not unusual to start off a bit high and for the lights to indicate "too low" when near the piano keys - they do that every time an aircraft is near the piano keys in fact, and is unavoidable from just before touchdown.

  • I love the name of the video, LOL, a very nice landing BTW...

...and to the people commenting saying he was high then he was low, GET OVER IT, you're supposed to stay above the glideslope in small planes in VFR if you can, just in case you lose an engine.

  • @FSX404 And where'd you learn that?

  • Comment removed

  • @SgtRevan

My name always fools people into thinking I'm a flight simulator guy who thinks that he knows real aviation, where in fact I I've been flying airplanes since 1995, 13 years before your solo, so before you try to show off for some of the simmers, you better check who you're talking to ;)

  • @FSX404 I didn't mean to be fresh. I've never learned that and was wondering if it was "set in stone" to do that or just recommended

  • @SgtRevan

I know what you meant, I really just didn't want you to make my mistake, I thought I knew everything but it is amazing how many different ways of teaching there are.

It is not set in stone, but it is a good habit to have...and just because I say it doesn't mean it is true either, bad habits pop up as "good advices" as much as good ones do, just make sure you do what you are taught and not what an idiot like myself writes on a comment on a video, LOL.

  • very nice landing!

  • das war aber keine leuer/boneto landung :P

  • @hamiltonrrw PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) VASI was the predecessor of the PAPI. The definition of VASI was deleted from the ICAO, Aerodroms, Annex 14 back in '95. PAPI enables more precise approach and landing.

    Regards

  • He begun taking the last turn a little late and then they were well above the correct glide slope (all the lights of the PAPI were white) realizing that the guy got the plane into a steep descent going under the GS (all the lights turned red). He made a successful landing, after all, but the way ha made it was awful.

  • @SkywalkerTibor interesting opinion - landing looked perfectly fine to me and I've seen a lot of landings.

  • Well done. Thats the best part of flying in my opinion, the landing, love doing them. Good video

  • Great landing!! It seemed like you had a crosswind, and if so, you kept right on track with the centerline,,,perfectly!

  • great landing!

  • When you show me a video of you flying a plane, then you can talk trash on a video. But for now, JUST WATCH IT!

  • Sully is the best

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing...any landing after which you can use the aircraft again is a GREAT one!

  • he was to high damn near all the way in lol

  • What a 200 hour goof. Know what we call you in my industry??? NUBEES

  • How can you name the landing as "BEST" ever when initial approach was high(4 whites on PAPI) and close to threshold (he was 4 reds on PAPI) and the stall buzzer comes on??

  • @academy322 the stall buzzer is supposed to come on..

  • yeah i know im good

    :P

  • forgot to mention that after he got at the proper glide path he failed to maintain that by adding power so he got too low having 4 reds!

  • overbanking, from base to final to final because the approach wasn't stabilized he had to turn again to line up with the runway ,he was high too (see PAPI).He failed to use any checklist note that the landing light was turned on after touchdown where it should have been on at least 10 miles radius from the airport..good landing though, gentle touchdown he maintained centerline too.

  • stall warning before touchdown...

  • @tramplineT stall warning before touchdown is what you want to hear!

  • nice : landing

    bad : camera :P

  • Nice landing

  • Has everyone forgotten about Captain Burkill? He is a good pilot but gets bullied out of his job for it.

  • 4 REDS!!

  • @nighttrain334 he obviously wasnt using the PAPI, so there isnt really anything bad with that.

  • david overshot his base to final.

  • Agree it a nice touch down, but not the best turn onto finals!

  • if sully has a great pilot he wouldnt have hit the birds in the first place lol but hey, one hell of a landing

  • he used the flyby wire system to land on the river the chances of a pilot landing on a river perfectly are very slim

  • @Ruckalizes I'm not sure what difference having fly by wire or not, aided him in his ability to land safely on water?

  • For those of you who commented on the Stall Warning here is a fact ---> The Stall Warning SHOULD beep on touchdown. A REALLY good landing is a Stall with the wheels on the ground. Lotta pilot wannabes on YT.

  • Too short on the downwind, overshot the turn to final, too much correction getting lined up, way too low on final ... 5/10. No Instructor would have passed that landing. In fact, David came fairly close to busting his ass.

  • I'm david and im a pilot as well :D

  • Landing OK. Approach very poor. Seems like he must have been too close to the runway on downwind, because his base leg was very very short. He overshot the extended runway centreline when turning from base to final and had to correct this. He was also a bit too high for much of his final (the PAPI lights were all white for a lot of the final leg). Couldn't see the instruments so cannot say how the airspeed and rate of descent were handled, and if he had to goose the throttle a lot on final.

  • That was one hell of a landing.... lol!

  • I would be SOOOOO tempted to go and push all of those shiny buttons!!!!!

    :E

  • i can do that and i am 12!

  • @legovogel1 No you cant lmao. Stick to FS man

  • @DVA7498 how do you know have you ever seen me?

  • @DVA7498 Hehe agreed,

@legovogel1 srry buddy, but that wasn't a very good landing anyway lol!

  • @legovogel1 It's not the same thing in real airplanes... You can trust me I flown both and it's never the same thing in real... the fleeling can't be simulate in flight simulator!!! You can't learn to land with FS!!! You learn how to fly IFR with FS!!!

  • @superpilote31 okay thx

  • @plane63: it? I didn't know pilots were referred to as things. Also, although Cpt. Sully is one hell of a pilot i wouldn't go as far as to call him the best. I may have to hand that one off to DHL Captain Eric Gennotte, who landed an a300 in Baghdad after being struck by a SAM, losing all flight controls, and a huge portion of the left wing. He managed to maneuver the aircraft back around to the airport and land it, with no loss of life and a salvageable aircraft, all by only using the throttles

  • Correction to title: David, displays the most common student errors for a normal approach and landing... might be too long, but we can work with it.

  • u call that best landing? oh please do your corrections again. Look at the approach...etc.

  • a good landing is a landing where you can walk away from.

  • Damn, every time someone posts a video about landings being good people always comment like this : You came too fast on approach, etc. I REALLY WISH IT COULD STOP BECAUSE IT'S GETTING REALLY ANNOYING AND ALSO CAN'T YOU ENJOY A VIDEO FOR ONCE ?

  • @Mikey365ify I totally agree with you, i would only expect a Career Pilot or an Instructor to say something but more as a tip rather than saying he did this wrong or he did that

  • @Mikey365ify Kinda agree. They're always like: You were 2 inches off the localiser and 1.5 inches above the glide slope, you came in too slow, but the touchdown was too fast, you're hair is too long, and you're hands are too dirty.

  • @Mikey365ify So maybe the title should have been "David's best landing ever". Hard to argue with that one. A title like this one just begs to picked apart.

  • must be a student

  • SLOPPY!!! Overshot the turn to final and dipped below the PAPI on final. Good touchdown though...

  • What a shit

  • Thats right @ Masonbbb123,good level off and flare but the approach was like u said, needs a little more practice, anyway well done!

  • bad approach!!! landing oky

  • only thing i saw that could have been done better was the descent,

the vasis lights were indicating too high in the glide slope.

but im the best pilot in the world sitting at a computer

you landed safely, there were no abrupt manoeuvres, good job.

  • they wont let you in the cock pit!!!! XD

  • too long on base and too far on finals

  • do they put tickets if you are not wearing the seat belt.

and what about the speeding ticket what is the maximum speed allowed in the airs.

  • best? pff what a ridiculous title for a movie. Its just a random pilot like another else.

  • This must be a Beechcraft Baron, or a King Air.

  • @zwartboekje definately not it dos'nt have engine pods on the wing it most probably a piper warrior

  • @bo31n9 Seached on Google, it is the same, Thanks!

  • Its almost ok for a student pilot. you could make a slowlyer descend at the final with earliyer beginning and you fly the curves more soft and without so much bank but the rest is pretty good

  • wat aircraft?

  • 4 white lights to 3 red lights in a matter of seconds..ouch.

  • the only thing i'f heard is piiieeeep stall!!!

  • What makes a good pilot is decision making, not all this technical shit! Get out of here with that. We all know what wikipedia says, its how you apply your knowledge that determines the type of pilot you are!

  • My 21 year old son does better than that. David's left base to final was way too wide, then incorrect glidescope on the approach.

  • best pilot?? why? what's so special with this landing? NOTHING

  • Why lower then glide path?

  • im the best pilot ever

  • Not the best mate! It was a good one, but nothing special lol. Maybe you named the video like that just to get a few more views ;)

    cheers

  • Good Landing, He appeared to pass through the extended centreline when turning final, and was high, corrected the height quickly and did a nice flat approach, landed on the centreline with the stall warning sounding which is good, means a nice flare, then turns his landing light on. Yes a very good landing, best ever- no.

  • You lot can enjoy slating this dude's video while switching to and from Flight Simulator while this dude is kicking ass, flying in a REAL plane. Excellent vid.

  • that's a stall landing, one of the best you can have, plane flares up but stalls and falls the inch-foot to the ground- just hope it is an inch not the foot, falling a foot tends to hurt a bit and make your instructor mad, especially when it's his plane. But that was a good landing, approach wasn't too sudden considering it was a 4-6 seat aircraft and i would bet it wasn't a student either, it wasn't a 2 seat aircraft and there was a camera guy.

  • a bit choppy on the throttle, a student i spose. the stall warning is fine if ur on a short strip but otherwise your setting yourself up for a hard landing one day in gusty conditions when there is trees or buildings not far from the strip. High on long final but sunk too low on short, high on long is not a bad habit untill you get into something with plenty of momentum. Keep practising davis

  • You never judge a pilot just off his landings. I know heaps of guys who will grease it every time but on the same flight have no situational awareness, nearly have a VCA on their hands every flight and can't keep up with their IFR plan and nav work.

  • Umm...bank angle??? 3 Red PAPI. Yeah, obviously the best. Is this Gainesville, FL?

  • Ok for a student pilot learning to land. Needs to turn final a little earlier to avoid the quick steep bank leading to overshooting the turn. This habit will get you killed if you ever need to land with the engine out. Or stall/spin you if you get too slow and steep on the final turn.

  • it is normal for the stall warning to come on at the moment of flaring off, as it is like the aeroplane saying " im not able to fly now so ill touch down instead" thats what i would hope to happen at landing. My instructor taught me that the stall warning at the last minute is a sign of a perfect flare off.

  • looks like Davis the best pilot ever was unaware that he had 3 reds on the papi, low on glide.

  • i heard a stall warning

  • @dogra08 Yeah this happends when you flare the aircraft for touchdown, means its a good flare.

  • Prop aircraft usually stall out some 5-10 feet before touchdown, it is not unusual to stall. However, the pilot should not take such a steep turn into final. Also, he was below glideslope, better high than low :p

  • careful with those steep banks to final.

  • overshot base to final but other than that ,superb landing....
