  • I wouldn't doubt that the sound designer for the original Star Wars used sounds like this, all of the sound effects were from organic sources. There were no synthesized sounds.

  • next time you see them you should whistle some songs see if they repeat

  • This is a dominance display between two males. All three of the calls which are most prominent here are common territorial and dominance display calls.

The most common call is known as the "Space Invaders" call as it sounds like classic arcade space battle games. This call is also strongly featured in courtship display.

The "plink" call is not mimicry of a "hydraulic ram" as suggested elsewhere in the comments. It's a standard dominance call and is rarely used except in encounters between males.

  • I love the the classic Atari arcade sounds it makes near the end.

  • it would be cooler if the bird does the transformers sound effects

  • WOAH!! This one seems to have seen SF movies, that sounds like a laser in between.

  • That's actually a hydraulic ram you're hearing in between. They haven't been in the area for decades, but the birds are learning the sounds from each other.

  • Your grandpa would kill the bird that sings with the golden voice?

  • There's a Leonard Cohen bird?
