Look, I really admire your vids and the blues scale lick #1 is too cool, but dude, this is just wrong ..you have too many notes in the turnaround and it doesnt fit the meter. Have you ever played this with a band?? Did the drummer and bass player throw in an extra beat to compensate? ..no. Ok, so at 1min32 You need to drop the 7th fret (E) and start the turnaround with the D, C#,C,B then that nice little C7 to B7. Or for those that dont do notes :) , just ignore the part between 1:32 and 1:43
I love this turnaround. One comment. After learning this on the computer when I went to my guitar and plugged in to practice it, I found that my natural inclination was to drop that 2nd fret note. I am in no way qualified to challenge it. All I can say is my "inside clock", based on years of untrained rhythm playing, just deleted that note before I even realized it.
Who the fuck needs to know your preference? If you want less dist, play with less dist. Did you think he was going to do an amended version for you just because?
Great video. very helpful. I am 8 years old and am just learning the blues. I have written a few songs too. If you have time please check out my songs and comment. Jacob
Nice lesson man, keep em coming. However, I agree with simonsbuddy, you have way to much distortion for a lesson video. Would be great if you turn it down a notch, it's not even needed to get a good sound for this kind of music in the first place. ;)
great lesson...just what I was looking for. But, contrary to the other posters, I think a lesson ought to have a clean sound, so you can hear what's being played. The overdrive is not required for the lesson, and interferes with the notes being clearly heard.
This guy spent 4 minutes and 38 seconds showing everybody how to do it WRONG

the turaround doesn't fit the meter. you need to just move a whole step from the C# to the B instead of moving through the C natural
TEgnoto89 2 years ago
or just start the turaround on the first beat of the measure instead of beat 2.
TEgnoto89 2 years ago
would prefer less dist.

seems like you're adding an extra beat in there for the turnaround
sleshnyc 3 years ago 9
Yes, I noticed it too when I tried to play this to a metronome. :)
There is one half measure (if you're playing in 6/8).
I'd like to hear what this would sound like without that extra half measure...
