id be more worried about loosing blood then not breathing... if anything slowing ur breathing should help as will slow heart rate theoreticaly decreasing blood loss? i mean u loose 4 - 5 pints of blood and ur a dead man / woman anyway... doesnt take long to loose that much if ur stabed... thatd be my first concern if i was stabed lol... wouldnt it make more sense to try and plug the wound then cover it? like take ur shirt of and push it into wound? to plug internal bleeding not just exterior?

I've actually been stabbed, and I didn't stay still. I was bleeding out, so I thought I'd rather fall down in a crowded place where people could help me, so I got up, walked to the town centre and bled everywhere. The irony is I had no money. ;D
