fyi this does not have to happen to someone that uses, the effects you portrayed are caused by dehydration, malnutrition, and sleep deprivation. try teaching the addicts better ways to care fore them self's, give them food, love and emotional support, instead of guilt trips and shame. We just might see more of them overcome there addiction.

It IS the drug. Tweakers lose their teeth and emaciate in a very unique way as opposed to alcohoics. I've seen this in my previous line of work and his sculpture may not be severe enough. He did a great job to portray the damage, but he might've been conservative based on people I've seen. In addition, the downturn is rapid.

The artist wasn't able to depict the paltry, flaking skin, the scars and blemishes from constant picking at one's face, and the dead colour of the eyes. Do meth long enough, and everyone develops the same hideous appearance. Take it from someone who dealt with meth addicts for 3 years.

Very effective but the "meth" sculpture is far more interesting.

And, as a sculptor myself I have to say this guy is heavy on the sponge and smooth finished surfaces. He needs to stop one phase earlier and let his work show, let the clay and tools have a voice as well.

As he went out on crack binges for 2-3 days @ a time, he would come home & look just pathetic & frightening. There's only so much you can do to help those people. If they don't want it, there's NOTHING that can be done. Either wait til they over dose, get arrested or get shot.
