  • Like Aung San Suu Kyi, Dislike Tories

  • @haz464 What do you think of Whigs?

  • How i think our system should be is that every law should be made by the people and not given a set of laws. How i thought this would work instead of partys being elected into full power a party has to represent there view on a law and there will be an election every so offten so that people can vote for the they thinks most resnable. So in this way people can mould there way of thinking into power.

  • Well Aung Suu Kyi, if you want true libertarian democracy in burma, the British political system at the moment is really not the model. In Britain we dont have a true democracy, we have a European council of unelected dictators, we have either incompetent, ignorant or corrupt career politicians, we have a total utter failure in regards to the welfare state, immigration and multiculturalism, the guy that came 3rd (Clegg of the Lib Dems) somehow partly rules the country, we have an unelected HoL.

  • @richardjohnsonowns And, to top it all off, our Prime Minister David Cameron is an open liar. So much for the 'Cast Iron' guarantee on the EU referendum. He can talk the talk, but he cant walk the walk.

  • And perhaps the saddest part of it all, most people are totally apathetic or disillusioned. Only about 30-35% of the population votes, so if someone gets a majority, they have realistically only been voted for by 15-20% of the population.

  • 30 years to go?a greedy life always ends in destruction.

what is the least ammount you need to survive and be happy?

hi dave i can fit everything i need to survive and be happy in a campervan and run it all off solar power, doesnt this make you think? a non greedy way of life?we have the technology! anyway life is short ,dont be greedy, time is running out, keep listening to the people thats who your supposed to be serving right? enjoy!

  • This is a lady I both respect and admire. However, the Conservative party is not democratic, it is governed by the elite and those who prostrate themselves before the corrupt global banks and big businesses, this is not a place for you. The Conservative Party is NOT a party of the people and is totally undemocratic.

The Conservatives, are corrupt, deceitful and their representation of the people is an illusion. I am saddened you play host to their stinking propaganda :(

  • @Sliepnir2006 This party would see the suffering and failure of its young people through increased University fees, even when the small countries such as Finland can keep theirs free. The Conservatives would rather bail us into the hands of one of the most Corrupt Parliaments, the European Parliament, than stand up to them and offer the people a democratic solution.

The Conservatives and with them The Liberal Democrats are the poisoned chalice of Democracy.

  • @Sliepnir2006 The lies this alliance has told in order to hold on to their power are sickening, false pledges and even worse false promises, Ann San Suu Kui, you do not belong to this parasitic, power wielding infestation of hypocrisy, you are so so much better.

If there was even one ounce of integrity in this Parliament, there would have been a referendum on Europe at least. Conservatives DO NOT represent democracy, only another stinking dictatorship, led by banks and big business!

  • Berlusconi has just had a lucky escape but it's only a matter of time until he is sacked.

Roll on David Camerons time to be ejected, Yipppppeeee !

  • @sweetypie000 Ejected! Wow.... I think this idea would enhance parliamentary debate greatly! Give the speaker the buttons and when Dennis Skinner is whining the speaker can press the button and Skinner'll be ejected through the roof.

  • money can buy everYthing , even FREEDOM, BUT I DON'T HAVE MONEY

  • @ukipyouth Well considering the average turnout for referendums is around 42% and the lowest ever turnout in a general election was 2001, with only 59%, I would say that you're pretty much wrong there. Also yes, that is a weakness with the system, but you have to compromise, just like you have to compromise in every area of life. You have to decide what's most important to you, and vote for the party that gives you what you want in the most important areas for you. Direct democracy doesn't work.

  • @ukipyouth Furthermore, referendums have notoriously low turnout - almost always below 50% - and are therefore not a legitimate way of bringing the public into government.

  • @ukipyouth Ah, but referendums undermine Parliamentary democracy and representative democracy as a whole, so it doesn't really make sense for any UK government to use referendums. The point of our government is that we are governed by the doctrine of the mandate; we vote for the party we agree with most, and trust it to implement the policies outlined in its manifesto.

  • God bless her! I hope they don't arrest her again for this.
