  • Move the eye!

  • thank god for Tilkien and thank god for Peter Jackson! =)

  • how much does his 12 volumes history of middle earth cost?

i wanna buy all his works but im trying to locate them all any websites you can recommend? Thanks.

  • @Eddtastic100 I got them from Amazon, they are not even that expensive. Just search for them on Amazon.

  • Those are beautiful editions!

  • I have the one volume edition and it is huge

  • That's like christmas.. =)

  • @AstronomyGuru1 Books are meant to be read, my friend.

  • that big book it was all 3 books in 1?

  • @Boyka63285 Yeah, it was how the Lord Of The Rings was intended to be first published. However, this was after the 2nd World War, and paper was very costly. So, there was no way the book could be sold as 1 so had to be split into a trilogy. Hope that helps :).

  • @jackgm93 Fairly sure it was just done so publishers could make more money. I can't see three separate books using any less paper than one book containing all three. If anything three would need more paper, as you'd need to have additional covers, end papers, maps etc.

  • GLORY TO TOLKIEN

  • i just spent nine minutes watching someone unpack a book....strangely compelling

  • holy fucking shit 400 euros???? no fucking way

  • More detailed review video has been posted, see link in the description

  • Ok I am back again after looking over the website that you purchased this from and am seriously considering buying this set but I would appreciate it if you could go into more detail with each of these books saying what you have found that you like and dis-like about them before I go and spend $800 on them. If you do not have time and cannot make a more in depth review just reply to this and tell me it's fine but from one Tolkien lover to another I am asking you to try.

    Thanks and Best Regards!

  • Please do some more videos on these book in more detail!!!!!

  • Can you show the others book in details? Speacially th Hobbit and Silmarillion? Please we awnt to see them in detail and have a gigantica nosebleed.

  • Is Children of Hurin in the Unfinished tales?

  • @CoheedMars90 A good portion of The Children of Hurin is in Unfinished Tales - the rest is in The Silmarillion.

  • not hjurin...ccc

  • Wow, that's really nice quality.

  • I'm kind of dissapointed with my set. I go The Fellowship, The Two Towers and Return of the King all with movie pictures on them...so lame. Regardless it's not about the cover, the books are great.

  • Nice vid, very interesting :) thank you for uploading

  • WHY

  • A box in a box :)

  • they had this version of the Hobbit and LOTR at my local book store for $90 each... i can only imagine what yu paid for all 4

  • It's... beautiful.

  • Tolkien Special Editions are always worthy investments.

  • Looks like an okay version, although not nearly as nice as the Easton Press version.

  • I've seen this on Pieter's website. Well done!

  • I bought the Silmarillion and the Children of hurin limeted 30th anniversary edition, but I am to afraid to read theme because they are so beautiful looking.

  • SO SWEET!

  • wat is the VERY first like Lord of the rings books cause i hear people talking about like melkor things and sauron and his servents and stuff ... so just wondering

  • @tdog24life The Samarillion (check spelling)

  • Wow!

  • this guy bought this for like 400 euros - about 800 US dollars.... wow

  • a box within a box....don't you always f***ing love that? still, @ least you know they packed it well, can't always say the same for Amazon!

  • So did it cost £140?

  • Interesting editions. I'm intrigued by the fold out section of leaves from the book of mazalbur. Where do these come from? I'm not aware of them appearing in any previous publication. Are they props from the movie?

  • The leaves from the 'Book of Mazarbul' are photo reproductions of the pages actually made and painted by JRR Tolkien himself for the 1st edition of "The Lord of the Rings" in 1954.

Tolkien would have liked to see them inserted in the book, but it turned out to be impossible, due to the too high printing costs .

They have been published for the first time (inserted in the actual book I mean) with the 50th Anniversary editions by HarperCollins in the UK, and Houhgton Mifflin in the US (2004-2005).

  • fancy my buttocks

  • It's awesome!I first found that on the official site of Tolkien Online bookstore. How much did you pay for it?It says £140 on the site

  • How I wish I could have them as well!

Well I have those four on paperbacks

    hahaha

not that its that much different, really they're just the same inside

  • wots the diference between this one and the black wich is less exspensive

  • 850 dollars, a fairly sound investment considering quality.

  • how much did that cost?

  • One million dollars.. Muahahahaa

  • pretty steep

  • Love the books. I collect these also. Look at my collection also.

  • Amazing books! Thanks for sharing. :o)
