  • YouTips4U , Do you have any tips for medium length and thick hair?

  • @TrishLoverStratus Hi, I think thick hair is beautiful. If you are looking to reduce the thickness and weight, you can cut layers or texturize your hair. This should be done at a salon by a stylist. Do not try to texturize your hair yourself.

  • @YouTips4U Thanks for the tips you amazing

  • What kind of brand of highlights do you use for your hair? Do you have a video for how to do it? I'm thinking of getting light blonde highlights because I have dark blonde hair. I think your beauty tutorials are the best on youtube, so I just wanted to check with "the best" before I try anything. ;)

Ps. Your hightlights look very flattering on your hair. :)

  • @mangokitty13 Hi, thanks so much for your kind words of support and your terrific feedback. I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos! I do have a highlight your own hair video uploaded. It actually has quite a few parts. In it I show you what I use and how I do it. I use Kaleidocolors by Clairol in Azure usually with a 30 or 40 volume lift and applied with foils. Please check out the videos, I think you will find them helpful.

  • Hi, I usually blow dry my hair every time I wash it, except in the summer months, I let it air dry frequently because it dries quickly, although it will be very wavy. As you saw in my video, I do not blow dry my hair until it is completely dry, but only until I have removed about 1/2 the moisture. This helps to protect it. You are right to be careful with blowdrying because it is drying as is using a flat iron. Only use them when necessary.

  • wrapping your hair like that in a towel causes breakage. Thats what I read. :) just letting you know. I love your hair

  • Hi, please see my video on dandruff. I think you will find it very helpful.

  • your hair is sooo pretty! xxx

  • When i had my hair cut it was nice and thin and straight.I have naturally wavy hair & it's soooooooooo annoying! But when i dry my hair, it goes all fluffy and wavy. I don't like that :S I have tried nearly every single smoothing cream. Do you have any recomendations for smoothing creams ??

  • is it okay to use two different brands of shampoo and conditioner for one wash?

  • Sure :o)

  • @YouTips4U I heard that using shampoos with Sulfate is damaging to the hair as well. Do Garnier products contain sulfate?

  • have you tried herbal essence long term relationship its amazing i have noticed alot less breakage you should try it

  • Hi, I have tried it, just recently actually, and I really do like it a lot.

  • How do you grow. Your nails

  • Hi, I keep them moisturized throughout the day, always wear gloves when cleaning and I do a deep repair moisturizing routine at night when I go to bed. Please see my video on "Special Tips to Grow Long and Strong Nails". I think you will find it very helpful.

  • I love how you give so much information on what you do keep up the good work and thank you so much for the tips

  • what should i do to straighten it, becuase my hair is REALLY curly so, how can i get it straight without damaging it?

  • Unfortunately there is not easy answer because the only way to straighten curly hair is with heat; either blow dryer or flat iron. There's also chemical straightening, but I would not recommend that; it's very damaging. You can use heat styling and minimize any damage by using a leave-in conditioning heat protectant and following the tips I suggest in the video.

  • I love that shampoo, love it, love it, love it :D

  • i will use these tips thanks

  • thanks for the tips

  • what if I have a mullet or a mohawk. I really take good care of my mullet--especially in the back I have it down to my shoulders.

  • Hello :) I would just like to say i REALLY like your videos and, I have really long wavy hair that tends to get frizzy >_< and I want to straighten it everyday but I dont want to fry my hair. So I was wondering if you have any suggestions on heat protectant?

  • Hi, there are so many on the market. I like LOREAL Natures Therapy Heat Control Leave in Protection Cream.

  • hi,i really appreciate all those things that you teach us in your videos ..your hair looks so pretty after you have washed it...i would like to grow long hair like yours as soon as possible.can you give me some tips?but you are combing your hair while its wet which may cause breakage and you are doing so in your video...could you explain?

  • Hi, it is not a problem for your hair to comb it while it's wet as long as you are gentle and carefully untangle it if it is tangled. If you notice, my method of shampooing my hair results in almost no tangles and I am able to comb easily through my hair causing no damage at all. Be sure you do not brush your hair when wet; that can cause stretching of your hair and breakage.

  • Thanks for the other tips. I didn't think of putting something in her hair so blow drying won't damage it. I always shied away from the blow dryer. Blow dryers for guys are like heat guns..they take off paint... now you have me thinking?

The most important thing I think of when shampooing her is her comfort...long hair when wet has a lot of weight. So I make sure she's OK.

But, I know she needs to have her hair dry quickly at times...very informative.

    Thanks.

  • Hi...Guy here... I always thought that the best way to detangle long hair is to work it from the ends upward. Scissor you finger and start from the bottom and work your way up. So it doesn't pull and break hair. I noticed when you used the detangling comb that you started from the top? When I wash my signifacant others hair I like to wash it in a direction, always downward. That keeps it from becomeing excessively tangled. Then, I detangle her hair by starting at the bottom...

  • HI, you are correct. The best way to detangle hair is with a wide-tooth comb and working from the bottom up. I combed from the top down because I literally had no tangles at all due to the way I carefully shampoo my hair. Whatever few tangles I may have had, the condition smoothed away. You're doing a great job...kudos....

  • Me again. :) Maybe this is a bad decision, but I never comb my hair out after washing, because it's so long and it takes forever, as well as pulling out a lot of stray pieces of slimy wet hair and getting everywhere. I usually just braid my hair in one long braid (I always shower at night, cuz it takes so long to dry) and let it dry overnight. Should I change my methods?

  • Hi, if that is more practical for you than it is fine. I'm assuming you gently brush it the next morning to remove tangles and distribute scalp oils.

  • @YouTips4U Thank you. :) i do

  • U have very pretty hair!! :D

  • Hi thanks for your video, it was very helpful! By the way, my hair is thin, little and long. I use a brush to brush my wet hair. May i know your take on that? Thanks! =)

  • Hi, I really don't recommend brushing your hair when it's wet. It's best to use a wide-toothed comb. Hair is very susceptible to breakage when wet and the pulling caused by brushing puts a lot of strain on the root and the hair itself.

  • um like u said to gothdolly84 tht for split ends u can beat an egg yolk with 2tsp of olive oil and 1 tsp honey. how many times do a have do this progress?? or how often for it to start working?

ohh and thx for this tip its great:)))

  • Hi, use it once a week if your hair is very damaged. Then every other week as you see improvement. then taper down to 1-2 times per month as needed.

  • i rotate too right now i'm liking suave pro color care

  • Hi, you can absolutely do that. Cuts down on the amount of heat your hair has to tolerate.

  • you are very helpful thanks 4 posting this i have watched a lot and none are as helpful.

  • you are a very nice and helpful person

  • How do you streghten your Hair well

And fast without a flat iron because i havent got a flat iron i have one of those big Tresemme ones..

  • Hi, you can also straighten your hair using a round brush and blow dryer.

  • Question for you - I want to know what type of home made hair mask would help with my split ends for short cropped hair?

  • Hi, for help with split ends, try this: make a mask by beating 1 egg yolk in a mixture of 2 Tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp honey. Massage into hair thoroughly, but gently. Then wrap head with shower cap for half an hour. Wash. Let me know how you like it.

  • Will do thanks

  • What is the best thing to use if you bqv dry hair

  • I always recommend Olive Oil Deep Conditioning Treatments. It's wonderful for your hair. Please check out my video on this when you have time.

  • Thanks for your tips:)

I have layerd hair and if I blow dry my hair upside down, Am I going to get volume?

  • Yes.

  • @YouTips4U thank you for the video. It's goin to help me a lot.

  • hey awesome video.

i just wanted to let you know that i think you would look GORGEUS with a bob.

you have the perfect face shape.

you should talk to your hairdresser about that.

  • Why do you dry your hair?

  • Hi, I blow dry it because it would take far too long to let it air dry and it would be very curly. If I blow dry it a little, it takes less time to do the final air dry and it is straighter, which is how I like to wear it.

  • i use the same conditioner.!! amazing!

  • I straighten the whole of my hair

is that why i have splitends?

    thanks

  • Hi, straightening your hair dries out your hair and definitely contributes to split ends that's why I try to limit it to the areas that I really want straight for my hairstyle.

  • have you always had long hair?

  • Hi, the shortest my hair has ever been is shoulder length and only for a very short time. I've pretty much always worn it long :o)

  • wow your hair is long healthy and beautiful thankyou for the great tips u rock :)

  • doesnt it take longer for long hair to dry? because i use to have long hair and it took me long for it to air dry

  • Hi, it definitely does. That's why I blow dry it a little first underneath to help speed it along. I never blow dry to fully dry because that is damaging. I also blow dry a bit to remove some of my waviness. Thanks for sharing!

  • What kind of blow dryer are you using?

  • Hi, I'm using a Vidal Sassoon 1875 Ionic hairdryer.

  • lol u said i do-do my own methods

  • OMG!!! your hair is so beautiful!!!!!i luv it!! thx for the tips!!

  • Thank you! That's very kind of you to say.

  • omg ur hair is soo long and nice!!

    i want ur hair!!

    xxx

  • Hi,

I would like to know how can i take care of my shoulder length hair ? I shampoo it everyday but it still does not give me the fluffy and clean kind of hair . And some of your products are not available here in my country of Singapore . Can you give me advice on how to care on my shoulder length hair . Please . It will mean alot to me . Oh and your hair is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS . Cheers ! (:

  • Hi, thank you for your very kind compliment on my hair! I wouldn't recommend you wash your hair everyday, that can be very drying for your scalp and hair. It sounds like you may not be using the right shampoo for your hair. Next time you are in the drugstore and have time, have a look at the various shampoos they sell and find one that suits your hair type. Don't buy anything really cheap, but you don't have to go real expensive either. Perhaps you need a volumizing shampoo?

  • Ah ! Well , I've tried a lot of volumizing shampoos and all of them turned out to be a wreck . And , what kind of shampoos are there ? And what kind of brands that you could recommend to me ? I need a shampoo that suits my scalp as it is very sensitive . My scalp tends to itch when i use a certain brand . Help me please ! ): Cheers ! (:

  • Hi, there are many volumizing shampoo products on the market from almost every line, like Pantene, Tresemme, etc., including more expensive salon products, but I hesitate to recommend any of them if you have a sensitive scalp issue. Have you tried Eucerin pH5 Shampoo for sensitive scalp. I love Eucerin products and heard it's great. My dermatologist recommends Eucerin skin care. When my son was small he had very sensitive skin and I used Eucerin products all the time on him.

  • i usually tease my hair ( i know its not good for hair at all, but i love how much volume it gives), but do you know any really good leave-in conditioners that can help reverse the damage a bit?

  • Hi, you're right teasing is damaging to your hair. Have you tried applying a good volumizing mouse to you roots and then blow drying upside down while gently tugging at the root area a little to lift the hair. This would be less damaging and provide volume for you. My favorite conditioner is Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. It's very rich and repairing. For a great deep conditioning treatment, I use olive oil. Please see my vid on that. Hope that helps!

  • i've tried but it just doesn't get the same volume or last as long as teasing seems to do for me.

  • I understand. Perhaps you can vary your hairstyle a bit and tease it some days and other days (like if you're not going anywhere special) just keep it natural for a little rest.

  • you are very beautiful!

  • I have heard that pantene causes build-up in your hair and coats it with a wax..Do you know if it is true?

  • Hi, I have not heard that. Many shampoos and hair care products can cause buildup, so I recommend using a clarifying shampoo periodically or try my wonderful Apple Cider Vinegar rinse which I talk about in one of my videos. Please check it out when you have time.

  • can we apply leave-in conditioner everyday? will applying it everyday damage my hair? please do reply

  • Hi, you can if you want to; it won't damage your hair. You may have a bit of a product buildup over time.

  • I have a question: I've been using the same shampoo for about three years. I would like to switch to Herbal Esscenses is that a brand you would recommend?

  • They have a very nice line of shampoos. The key is to select one for your hair type so be sure to read the labels and look for one that suits your needs (i.e. normal, oily hair, dry hair, etc.). You can go on their website and use their product selector.

  • You are welcome, friend =)

  • I hope u like my comment =)

  • Hello,

friend. I love seeing your towel on your head and I am addicted to see many videos like hair washing steps. =D Keep doing a good job =)

Que Deus te abençoe (May God bless you) in Portuguese. Can we make new friends? I love making american friends, because I live here in the U.S. for 11 yrs and so I am originally from Brazil.

  • Hi, thanks so much for your comment! I'm really glad you like my video and how I look with my hair in a towel :o)

  • and also what kind of products can i use for longer hair, or just anything u can recommend, as in eating wise, or just product wise, i see u have nice beautiful long hair

  • Hi, thank you for your kind compliment on my hair. Please check out my Youtips Forum Videos where I talk about how you can grow your hair with proper diet including foods rich in B vitamins. A few tips on treating your hair kindly: avoid using rubber bands to put it in a ponytail as they cause a lot of breakage. Also, use a leave-in conditioner after you shampoo and condition and before styling. Check out my other videos on hair care. I think you'll find them very helpful.

  • Would you recommend putting applying conditioner closer to the roots if you have a lot of small hairs from breakage? I guess to promote moisture in those small hairs and allow them to grow?

  • Try to figure out why you have breakage so close to your roots so you can minimize the occurrence. You can put conditioner closer to your roots, but if you notice that you are getting the greasies, you may want to apply a leave-in conditioner instead before you style and blow dry. Please take a look at my jojoba oil video. It's a great product you can apply to your hair before or after styling to help lie down the flyaways and retain moisture.

  • hey, just seen ur other video about how to shampoo ur hair, im a guy with long thick hair, but its only down to my shoulders and i want it longer but it seems like its taking me forever to grow, its been almost three years, i just started using the herbal essence long hair shampoo, hopefully that wil work, i want to try your tips. thank u for your videos they are great

  • Thanks so much for your terrific feedback! I'm so glad you like me videos. You're hair sounds beautiful. Be patient and take gentle care of it and it will grow. Remember it only grows 1/2 a month or a maximum of 6 inches a year. Be sure to condition it after each shampoo to help prevent split ends and breakage due to dryness so you can achieve your maximum growth results.

  • omgg u haff gorgeous hairr ma hairs bout that lenght tuu x

  • hi, is it good to wash hair every day?

  • Hi, it's best not too. Washing your hair every day is very drying and can cause overproduction of oil. Wash hair no more than every other day.

  • Using different shampoos will not damage your hair. It actually prevents build up sometimes caused by using the same shampoo. Starting off with conditioning your hair and then shampooing it is a great method to use to give extra protection to dry hair. Thanks for sharing.

  • i have relaly really curly hair but when i brush it i can't because it is curly and when i look at the brush there is alot of hair how to i not make my hair come out

  • Hi, don't worry about hair coming out when you brush it. This is normal. Everyone loses hairs everyday. Some people can lose up go 100 hairs a day and it's still considered normal. After you shampoo your hair be sure to use a good conditioner to soften and detangle so you can comb through it easily. That will minimize the pulling on your hair and ultimately the hair loss. You may also want to spray on a leave in conditioner/detangler as you comb through it.

  • I have really curly hair and when i brush it i can't because it is really tangle and its not like your its really really curly.lots of hair come out

  • Hi, you said "your hair gets tired of shampoos" what does that mean?

  • Hi, I mean that certain shampoos, especially moisturizing and conditioning shampoos tend to cause a build up of conditioner on my hair and my hair feels weighed down after a while, so l like to alternate between three or four different shampoos. For example, I use one for long hair, one for highlighted hair, one for volume, etc. It lets me try different brands too. I usually stick with two favorites and alternate two.

  • is silicea the same thing as biotin?

  • Hi, they are not the same thing. Silicea is an element found in our skin, hair, nails and connective tissues in the body. It is available in supplement and in foods like grains and rice. Biotin is a B Vitamin also available in supplement and the foods we eat (grains, liver, eggs, etc.). Both are beneficial to the body in that they are useful toward growth and repair of the skin, hair, and nails.

  • I use silicea to help grow my hair, it also helps my nails and skin. I use to break out alot. it stopped when i took this, my nails grow fast, I have new hairs growing out. I have fine thin hair.

  • I've heard good things about silicea but I've never tried it. I will definitely keep it in mind. Thanks so much for sharing you insights with me and my viewers!

  • what about the shampoo mane&tail??

  • I've heard good things about it, but I have never tried it personally. If you have, and would like to share your thoughts on it for my viewers that would be great!

  • I use the garner brand shampoo as well. and the conditioner seems to be the best at getting out tangles with long hair.

  • Excellent! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • hey, i love your tips, especially the one about how to cut split ends. i find that a bit hard as my hair has layers so its hard to snip hair at the back of my head :)

  • Hi, don't worry about getting every last section. Bring forward what you can and cut those. It will still help a lot. Many times split ends develop more on the side areas that frame our faces due to handling and sleeping, more than the very back. Also, I'm really glad you like my videos!!

  • i love the Vive shapoo it works amazingly!

  • help full but youh look kinda scary with the towel on youre head

  • that was helful, but my hair is curly so I can't pretty much do the same method as you! like naturally dry!!....my hair is so thick and curly and it has lots of volume and I kinda hate that! any tips to make my hair thinner!!please!

  • Hi, yes, you can reduce volume by blow drying your hair when it is upright. Do not flip it over. First, put some anti-frizz product on your hair shaft - not roots. Then blow dry your hair in very small sections using a diffuser attachment and round brush. Hold the heat to the section as you go down with the round brush. Let that section cool and release it. Then move on to the next small section and do the same. I hope that helps!

  • yeah, THANX A LOT! I DID IT AND IT WORKED!!XD

  • really helpful. Ty~!

  • The Fructis split end leave in treatment and Length and Strengh Shampoo & Conditioner have totally changed the texture of my hair. My hair feels like silk, is shiny and so healthy looking. Thank you for all the great recommendations!!

  • Oh, that is terrific! Thanks for letting me know :o) I'm so glad I could help!!!

  • The Organix serum is great! I have the Vanilla version of that serum plus the heat protectant.

Not crazy on the Fructis though :)

  • Hi, thanks for sharing! I'm going to take a look for those products when I run out. Thanks again!!

  • Another great tutorial. Thanks for sharing with us the products you use.
