I hate it! I done a full charge and it charged only 62% video is nice however controls suck. The Touch is poor. I keep pusking the same icon oer and over and over no respond. I even had problems turning it off. its going back for a refund. I hope they do not do restocking fees I do hate this thing

There are 2 things I don't like of my A5 250gb

- web browser has no address bar

- It cannot read image bigger than the screen resolution (which is pretty bad. Even the sansa e280v2 can read 2000x1500 pixel pictures)

There are some other problems with the device but I can live with them. I got the battery dock so it only takes 3-3.5 hours to fully charge.

Anyways, I love my A5. And... waiting for flash 10 support =P

I got one today. The screen is large and crisp. It is perfect for showing pictures and watching movies. And if I buy a dvr stand, I can use it to record from the telly, instead of an dvd/hdd recorder. It's great!! I love it!!!!

i got the Archos 5 250Gb and i don't regret my buying,for the moment lol.The internet Browser are very simple.. ,for the batery life,it's not very good...but it's perfect for me...i use it everyday and i charge it the night and when i woke up the batery is full. The touch screen,i love it!..you can use a stylet,image quality is very good..except for youtube video..that is not good...but for movie it's amazing. so if you got question jsut PM me hope i helped you!

Zune HD is good for music, videos, web browser. It's thin, but less storage.

The Archos 5 250gb has bigger screen, much much more storage, but it may not fit your pocket. Really really great for videos. Big screen with 16 millions colors.

I don't mind the big size, and I want big screen with fantastic video quality and monster storage on the go, so I bought the Archos 250gb. So far so good after 3 months of use.

If you get the A5, handle it gently =)

Though I do like the Linux operating system on the Archos and the lack of Apple and AT&T dictatorship like polices on my iphone.

I would very much like one of these. As a two year Archos user they are so far beyond the iPod in terms of their architecture it is a joke. Granted like an iPod it has its learning curve, but after I got a 504 on clearance at Target two years ago I sidelined my 60gb iPod and haven't used this since. I bought my wife a 605. I consider this, or its sucessor my next upgrade, I wouldn't touch an iPod, touch or otherwise again. A more known brand doesn't equal the best product. Apple should know.

I gave the archos 5 a chance for MY money. I had to return it, I feel like the hard drive is going to break on me, and the dam thing isn't pocket friendly, it gets warm easily. Trust me, I wanted this thing to be as awesome as my first encounter with my friend's itouch. imho, this pmp is not worth it, people say the browser dominates the browser in the itouch... i think otherwise. it comes down to personal preference, and i am NOT an apple fanboy, or an archos fanboy

You can get some very great deals on ebay for $70-90... I got mine for $75 and I was amazed at that deal, straight out of the box and worked perfectly. I especially like the fact that it responds so well to either a stylus or your finger. It's perfect, man! Lol.

Archos will always remain one of the most innovative and interesting media players on the market. I would reccommend the Archos over the iPod Touch any day. I have a 605 and it works amazingly. One thing that's useful about it is its navigation on the right side as well as its touch screen. If touch becomes tiresome for you (especially if you have big hands like me), then the side navigation buttons are the perfect alternative for you.

The 60gb version is on sale for $279.99 right now on Amazon, whereas the 32gb Ipod Touch runs for $399.99. I will admit the Ipod touch has a very slick interface and is really fun, but for those of you who are hardware gurus.... come on..... double the storage for $120 less? Can't argue with that! Granted the Touch runs on flash memory while the Archos uses an HDD, just another something to consider.

I can listen to music better the iPod's sound quality sucks, watch movies better, sufr the web better (from using a psp, I know how annoying it can be to try reading a web-page in a smaller than intended size. The Apps are just for wasting time, if you want to play games, get a PSP and pay for what you get! You can still watch movies better, and surf the web better on that. and if you're desperate for Apps, Search for PSP Portals. Go PSP!

With the optional docking station, Archos pmps can record media (TV shows, full length films, sporting events) from satellite receivers, DVD players and other devices. We don't need no so-and-so software media portal like iTunes.
