When I saw the sign for the Topsfield Fair I knew exactly where you were driving --glad to see you taking your car out for a nice day in Massachusetts! I take that route in my old '58 Edsel convertible when I can drive up from Winthrop....but have secretly always wanted to upgrade to a Packard as my final acquisition. Hope to see you on the road if you ever go as far as Newburyport!
Nostalgic. My father had a 1937 Packard 120 from 1952 to 1957. Detail differences from yours - flatter dash, floor gearchange etc..It was right-hand drive (in Britain) and had woodie bodywork - whether US-built or British I don't know. Cruising at 50 was exciting. Not aerodynamic. Always had cooling problems, and once bust a piston almost back home having carried my parents all the way down to Sicily including two Alpine passes. I recognise that view of the pointed bonnet (hood to you!). Tim
very nice ride , wish i could have seen the outside of it, looked like a beautiful car on the inside , glad to have gone along for the ride , nice scenery too . thanks for posting this video .
@learflyer2 Hi, learflyer2, Thanks for your kind words. I don't check my email that often so it's been a while. If you want to see the outside (and engine) you can see it on a video I posted called Packard 120 start up. There are 2 of them. The car is in pretty good shape but it is a "driver. Drivers are meant to be driven. I call it a time machine. :- )
