Este video perdurará como uno de los más bíen realizados, ya que Luciano pavarotti,dío para el público presente y a través de él, para la posteridad,expresando con su formidable voz su grán amor y sentimientos que sentía al cantar " O Sole Mio "
Hehe--he was indeed in fine, confident voice this nite! So much for opera "experts" who said Neapolitan songs "must be sung in full voice", and "men singers couldn't trill"! Pava proved them wrong in one single song!!--I bet people learned really quickly not to tell Luciano he couldn't---or must--do things! (;
when my buddys and i are drunk we put on some pavarotti and start singing in his back yard. at the time we think we sound just like this but then we watch the videos taken by my buddys brother and its pretty bad.... lol
...its alright... i could do better. is it just me or does he sound rather feminine in this?? by brendan burke :P:P:P:P:P: omg wheres he guitar section?? :O:O:O ;););););)
He was, and still is, one of the greatest artists humanity has had an honor to live with. Right by side with Michelangello, Da Vinci, Mozart, Beethoven and some others. Absolutely marvelous voice! Just listen!
One of the greatest artist humanity has had a honor to live with. He is right beside Da Vinci and Mozart, Michelangello and some others. Absolutely marvelous voice!
He is so sweet here. I am singer too not as well as Pavarotti. In second part of song after high note: Anatu Sole" he body language is so sweet( pulling up his shoulders and opening his arms) and it made me to love him more and more. Unfortunately I didn't born in right place other wise I would opera singer too.
I love the all of his concerts, and which ones were crappy?I have never seen him in a crappy concert. He is al wonderful. His goal was to bring opera and classical music to all of the people,and I think he reached his goal, everyone knows who Pavarotti is. A wonderful man, extraordinary voice, and beautiful stage presence. The rich wanted to keep him behind the closed doors of the Opera, but he was too big for that. He had to spread his wings over all the earth!
The crappy ones? Let's see . . . Pav and Elton John . . . and Sting . . . and Mariah Carey, the 3 Tenors (the Rome concert in '90 was good, but after that the idea was beaten to death). He lyp-synched during the Pav & Friends belch-fests, his voice was a wreck and he was, quite simply, past his prime. He became a sad, disgusting characature of himself. And I'm really not a Pav hater; on the contrary, if I had to pick a favorite tenor, it's probably him.
I have listened to thousands of hours of his operas, song recitals, etc., and I know his voice inside and out. I know when he's on and when he's not. During this concert in '89 he was flat-out ON, and I took the opportunity to thank Leoperarm for graciously sharing. What a night of glorious, exuberant music-making! My point was simply: THIS is the Pavarotti I want to remember. Anything wrong with his wanting to reach the masses? Of course not.
Remember, he was a household name BEFORE all the 90's mega-concerts. The Pav & Friends stuff is to great music what McDonald's is to filet mignon. And what's this about "the rich wanted to keep him behind the closed doors?" Huh? Could you support this statement with ANYTHING factual? I am not rich; wish I were, but I'm not. I simply have good taste, a discriminating ear (actually two of them) and a passion for opera and the classics. I look forward to more from this concert!
Just listen to the trill at 2:15 through 2:19, then watch the shrug at 2:23 as if to say, "Yeah, I guess that wasn't too bad." It was one of those concerts where everything was just right. What memories.
As I write this comment it occurs to me that it was 20 years ago tonight that this GREAT concert aired. As a matter of fact, almost at this moment I would have been enjoying this very encore (towards the end of the program at around 11:00 Eastern). I have long admired Pavarotti as a serious artist (before all the crappy, over-hyped mega-concerts), but there was something absolutely and uniquely magical about this night. He was in easy, free, wonderful voice, and he confidently KNEW it.
