Okay, my Zune HD (16GB) does NOT work. At all.

It won't connect to my computer AT ALL. I've tried everything under this sun, and I don't know what to do at all. I plug it in to the farthest back USB port, and I've blown the dust out, restarted, updated and done EVERYTHING. I mean everything. It won't work at all. I've had it for a year or two now, and it's got a few scratches but it works just fine. Can you please tell me what to do? I'm just a kid, it's late and I want my music.

what i did was held the "media" and power button at the same time while the screen was "unlocked" and that pretty much reset it, like you said it would, the "media" and "home" button did nothing as u see in the video. but once you do what i did it shoud say on the screen " please connect to your computer" or something in that nature.

@dragonslayer8901 This happened to me too, the keys for some reason won't respond to let me turn it back on. Use the Hold power + media buttons (on the side), that'll force the Zune to turn on.

Thank God for this vid!!!!!!!! My ZHD screen kept going completely black and the Zune became unresponsive every time I tried to use the internet- I call it "The Black Death"; furthermore, a restart didn't fix the problem and it wouldn't connect to wi-fi anymore, I suffered internetless for almost a week until Mobilitysite saved me from chronic boredom and Postmodem Depression! (P.S.-Did anybody tell you that you have the perfect "pilot-voice" ?! (no homo))

omg you just fucking saved my life lol! i thought my zune was broken! today i went to press the menu button and the screen turned black while the music was playing and i couldnt do anything to get the screen to turn back on! so i unpluged the earphones and then the music stoped so now im really pissed. i spent all day trying to fix it untill i just watched this video and did the factory reset and then walah screen pops back on and resets! thanks alot!

As far as completely wipeing it down, if you turn the zune completely off it works pretty quick

Not sure if you mentioned it too clearly about how to erase all the content but those wondering

1. Hold the media button down

2. Wait for the playback buttons to fade off and keep the media button held down

3. Now hold down the power button at the top for an indefinite time until it asks to connect to PC

That should be it
