Hey, I don't know. I just think that this is the 21st century and companies using billions of dollars creating new weapons systems should be able to think something out. Right?
There are recoil-dampening/reducing systems already. The problem (I think atleast) is to add such technology to a small system like the M4.
6:40 Exit holes at the back of the car. For you who have an IQ of <80, that means the bullet went through the engine, various parts of the interior of the car, and the chassis. I almost feel sorry for the Talibans.
That "Ive had enouph of this shit" look on his face at 6:14 just before they both pound those .50 rounds into the windshield of that car. Awesome action scenes in this show. Mack needs to be in the next Expendables.
Hmmm... Seems kinda in-effective in my opinion. Sure the .50 cal packs a tremendous force, but in CQB 10 rounds is a very small amount of ammo.
Then I also don't understand why they didn't develop a .50cal system with reduced recoil. This just looks annoyingly shaky. But it is very smart to have the capabillity to change a standard M4 into a Beowulf on the fly.
As for the stopping firepower: How about the AA-12 with the explosive shells? I'd say that'll do the job aswell.
Ideally you are not alone. So the swap is not really an issue. Also you would most likely be set up to go anyway as part of a squad. Is this available for public consumption?
1) Swapping uppers while driving in combat...har har. Yeah, great time to start taking your primary rifle apart.
2) "Limited range limits collateral damage." Limited range means accuracy goes to hell at range. That thing will still kill you at long range if you're just unlucky, same as any round.
3) If you want to stop vehicles with an M4, you can sling a grenade launcher under it, the same way this guy had a giant flashlight on the rail. 40mm HE vs .50...hmm
@aluisious 1) Well thats why you swap weapons. Because the one you are holding is not suitable for this particular situation. Some are good far stoping vehicles, so are good for people. Unless you are oracle you cant know which one you will need therefore you might need to swap.
2) Nope, limited range means bullet dont go any further because it looses all kinetic energy.
3) You can allso take RPG. You can do milions of things, so? He only shown one of these milions things
@Dzintra681 He's not swapping weapons, he's swapping upper receivers. Do you understand the difference? Have you ever actually owned or used an AR in the military? Do you understand the risk in taking apart your main rifle in the middle of a firefight, while driving? What if he crashes, then he's got a pistol, maybe. Or if he's shot and can't see or manipulate the parts properly.
You really don't know what limited range means. I doubt you own any weapons, really.
@Dzintra681 The maximum effective range of a shotgun slug is about 100 yards because they have terrible accuracy beyond that point. But if you point it up and let one fly at 45 degrees, it'll hit something a mile away with enough energy to kill, because it's heavy as hell. Effective range has nothing to do with kinetic energy, you have no idea what you're talking about.
An RPG is far heavier and bigger than an underslung grenade launcher. At this point I don't think you have a clue.
I now something bad is coming to happen in America, the goverment is preparing, building underground city, building large jail for familes, You need to no what the stock market is fuck, you need to leave the land, or prepare, think about to learn self defens, get gun , food, water, shelter, gold, silver, read how to grow food, ,, this is real
I like that someone really thought about the name for this rifle. I'm studying the Beowulf legend. Apparently his name translates as Bear Hunter. So the fact that you're taking a hunting rifle into battle makes the name very appropriate. I'm sure a 50cal would tear off an arm, just like the legendary hero.
youre all dumbasses. if the military needs to stop a car, they just hit it with a burst of 7.62mm and it will shred it. Or a 40mm grenade. The 50 beowulf is pointless.
@sharky0922 and it obliterated that car which is basically what it was designed to do... that and if you have an insurgent who can take 5 or 6 rounds of 5.56 into him and keep running at you because he is hopped up on cocaine and adrenaline.. yeah it will stop him too.
@dewman0889 If there's an insurgent that can take 5 or 6 rounds and keep coming, then the soldier doing the shooting needs to work on his shot placement. But, I agree with you. This would probably put down a man with 1 shot, regardless of where the poor bastard takes the round.
@detox8388 I mean, a lot of insurgents CAN take that amount of shots because a lot of them snort coke and shit so that many rounds doesn't phase them as it should... think Scarface.. lol.
@dewman0889 haha nice comparison. During my last deployment, my platoon was providing support to an FOB of the 10th Mountain. They began taking small arms fire from an adjacent ridge line, about 150 meters away. We quickly subdued the threat. As we were sweeping the area, we came across the bodies of 5 Taliban fighters. 4 out of the 5 were hit with 5.56 rounds, and all suffered massive wound cavitation. I have also seen the opposite affect. Shot placement is key (CNS/ Center Mass)
@detox8388 I forgot to add, I completely agree that shot placement IS key. It's just there are some instances where they can take a hell of a bashing and keep going. I know that a tumbling 5.56 round is devastating to soft tissue, just like I said though, some of those bastards are determined.. haha
@sharky0922 You do realize that that's exactly what you want. You want a bullet to stall within the target. When a bullet over penetrates it's not dumping all of the kinetic energy into the target. The more energy that's transfered into a body the larger the temporary wound. A larger temp wound means more of a chance to severely damage internal organs/ rupture blood vessels. Also, "Hydrostatic Shock" is more prevalent. Hence the development of jacketed hollow points.
despite how cool it is, this is a extremely conditional weapon. Its recoil is monstrous, limiting it's range down to where smg's would be more effective. It's magazine holds a puny 10 rounds, and the density of the rounds make carrying ammo extremely burdening. Did I mention the recoil making it difficult to stay on target? I can only see it being used in a controlled checkpoint where you might have to shoot at armored cars.
@0Tanker0 dude, did you hear Bill? they tested it in full auto and figured out that there is HALF A POUND of lead flying down range in that 10 round mag. With that large of a round you shouldn't need to stay on target because one round should be devastating enough to kill a man, maybe two rounds. They didn't seem to have any trouble staying on target when they were shooting that engine block...
@dewman0889 Thats exactly my point. You don't need to shoot half a pound of lead downrange. A 9mm will kill a person dead as much as a 50 cal at that range. 10 rounds is a puny mag size, the rounds are expensive, and engine blocks are kinda big so yeah he was doing a pretty good job of staying on target. I totally agree with you that it is a powerful firearm, But it's uses fill only a small niche that the military would not consider worth spending on.
@0Tanker0 wrong, a 9mm will not kill someone as easily as a 50 cal. another example, i'm sure it's rare, but say the guy is wearing kevlar.. which will stop a 9mm, but it sure as hell wouldn't stop the 50 cal. even at a short range. My point about the engine block is a 5.56 isn't going to stop an engine block very easily or in a timely manner. I believe the use of the beowulf would be primarily in the private sector, such as Blackwater because they WOULD pay the money for it.
@dewman0889 in all honesty, 50 cal. is excessive. 5.56 might not take out an engine block, but steel core 5.56 certainly would. 10 rounds in the mag give you very limited presence in a firefight. And having repurposed and expensive rounds would have to actually constitute an effective change. A good example of that would be the P90, which was a HUGE hit with special ops from all over the world due to its innovative frame and ammunition that causes little collateral damage for sensitive areas.
@0Tanker0 but as you said, it is a conditional weapon, however, many conditions arise in a convoy where it would be useful because all you have to do is switch out the upper receiver on an M4... Many times when a convoy is ambushed, you are out numbered and out gunned... but with the beowulf, you might be able to even the odds.
@dewman0889 To be honest with you, I do not see the military adopting this weapon system anytime soon. As with everything on T.V., it looks much easier than in a real situation. In a real firefight, you're not going to want to have to switch out uppers. That's going to cost precious seconds that you, as well as your team don't have. Plus we already have squad weapons that can immobilize a vehicle.
@detox8388 I also agree with you on this. I don't see the military adopting this weapon system at all.. Like you said, we already have the M240B and other systems to take out vehicles. As I said in another comment on here, I was thinking of it's use mostly in the private military sector. No doubt, every second does count in a real firefight.
@JoshHasAidsOMG they use cinder blocks and whatnot because it is what many buildings and walls are made out of... It also shows how much collateral damage you will have.
@TheTheis1995 There is big difference between .50BMG (standard) ie usually found in linked belts & this round which is more like a super big pistol load (spinoff of .50 AE)
@TheTheis1995 caliber is a measure of the bullet diameter in .10 of an inch. .50 caliber is .50 inch. caliber has nothing to do with the length of the shell. A 1911 is .45 caliber. which has a larger diameter than a .223 what the m4 uses , but the shell is much shorter. there are many sizes of cartridges in the world.
Great, they invented a round that would solve the nonexistent problem of the 5.56mm round having too little stopping power, and this great new weapon has more recoil while held back with a sandbag than an m4 fired from one hand.
I like it however there are a few things that could make it 100%, 1.longer barrel maybe 3 to 4 more inches, 2. tighten up the rifling for better accuracy with those changes it would be one hell of a rifle, plus taking out a target fuck seeing flying through the air 50. cals take off chunks even arms and legs damn that would be sweeeeettt!!!!!

SPREAD THIS BOOK AND CONQUER THE SPREADING EVIL BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE - FOR FREEDOM AND PEACE.
This is meant to be used as a secondary weapon for blasting locks and hinges off doors and for stopping cars at checkpoints....... however it would be tempting to take out an enemy with just to see him go flying about 5 feet lol
@Jamesamaphone Because of the angle of most windshields, and the fact that standard military rounds are quite small (NATO 5.57mm), the rounds usually are deflected off at an angle, or some warlord has outfitted his death squad's vehicles with reinforced glass, which would need a heavier round to penetrate.
you morons do realize he is shooting righty our the left side of the back of the Suburban...hence the poor stance, he needs to learn to shoot lefty...
They are holding the weapon soooo bad, if the commentator was a SEAL, how can it be that he cant hold a weapon (especially one with a recoil that high) correctly?
@andromedarr Holding the weapon by the magwell is quite standard. Without a rail mounted verticle grip which is far more ergonomical than holding the underside of the barrel, holding the magwell gives you the ergonomic grip without sacrificing muzzle control. The man is a SEAL, and you are critiquing his stance? I think the video clearly shows he is more than capable of controlling the weapon. Just because you play airsoft doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.
@jaxm666 I probably know more than you do. This guy isnt even putting the stock into his shoulder (a mistake made by almost any soldier woth an AR-15), and holds by the magwell.
The best way to manage the recoil of the gun is the thumb break grip, and standing frontally to the target, feet at shoulder width, leaning into the weapon, and bhavong the stock a little mor ethe the middle of you body. He is doing everything wrong that you could poasibly do wrong.
@andromedarr I've been in the canadian military for 13 years as of the 5th of august, my birthday. The thumb break grip is absolutely, and utterly useless in a combat situation. Yeah, if you're a pussy footed competition shooter I'm sure your wonderful thumb break grip is perfect for standing motionless while hefting your 40lb competition rifle, and shooting at a stationary target. In the real world things like cover, and mobility are more important. YOU might not be able to control that beast
@andromedarr but I think it's clear from the video that these adult gentlemen clearly have no problem handling the amount of energy released by a 400+ grain bullet fired at supersonic speeds. These aren't your .2gram 6mm BB's, son.
Hm, it seems like you think that i never shot a real rifle. I actually did just recently (aditionally, i already applied for the officer-carrier in the german army), and i tested out the thumb break grip with the stance shown above against not shouldering the weapon completely (about like they did in the vid), and with holding just the foregrip, while in the squared rifle stance. ALthough the first method was more tiring than the last one, my hit ratio was much better, especially in fast semi
@andromedarr ........... You've fired a rifle once..... Just recently....... At stationary targets...... Well shit, you must be an expert now son! Forget the 200-300,000 rounds (on average) I fire per year at ranges from 8m to 400m. This does not include mounted guns, grenades, and pistols, by the way.
This also does not include combat.
Yes, I have been in combat.
Ever been shot at? Ever shot at someone WHILE being shot at? Try hiding behind a brick wall or sand dune and shoot your way. Try it.
It's not made to be a main weapon its made to quickly switch over and use it for its purpose that's why its built on m16 weapon system 2 pins swap upper and you have a weapon that can stop a car
@rockneverdie1994 definately bro and I'll be there to help. Blowing away illegal beans sounds like fun. Then we're gonna have to start calling them Mexicants.
MtnMaiden, you only 1 round to give 1-2 people a bad day lol. Go 50 cal! They really need to press this project for the US forces. Just watch the enemies of ours shitting bricks when they see all of our guys wielding these car raping guns of awesomeness
@armoredtuktuk The best part is the enemy will have no idea until its too late. Like he said in the video. Looks and handles like an M4, fires like a beast.

0Tanker0 4 months ago
@0Tanker0 but as you said, it is a conditional weapon, however, many conditions arise in a convoy where it would be useful because all you have to do is switch out the upper receiver on an M4... Many times when a convoy is ambushed, you are out numbered and out gunned... but with the beowulf, you might be able to even the odds.
dewman0889 4 months ago
@dewman0889 To be honest with you, I do not see the military adopting this weapon system anytime soon. As with everything on T.V., it looks much easier than in a real situation. In a real firefight, you're not going to want to have to switch out uppers. That's going to cost precious seconds that you, as well as your team don't have. Plus we already have squad weapons that can immobilize a vehicle.
detox8388 4 months ago
@detox8388 I also agree with you on this. I don't see the military adopting this weapon system at all.. Like you said, we already have the M240B and other systems to take out vehicles. As I said in another comment on here, I was thinking of it's use mostly in the private military sector. No doubt, every second does count in a real firefight.

I like how they always test penetration and power on cinder blocks and bricks n shit, I mean seriously, you can break a block by dropping it...
JoshHasAidsOMG 4 months ago
@JoshHasAidsOMG they use cinder blocks and whatnot because it is what many buildings and walls are made out of... It also shows how much collateral damage you will have.
dewman0889 4 months ago
this littel bullets are 50 cal?! but the shells from the barret m95 are mutchh!! bigger wtf?
TheTheis1995 4 months ago
@TheTheis1995 There is big difference between .50BMG (standard) ie usually found in linked belts & this round which is more like a super big pistol load (spinoff of .50 AE)
surlypat 4 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@TheTheis1995 caliber is a measure of the bullet diameter in .10 of an inch. .50 caliber is .50 inch. caliber has nothing to do with the length of the shell. A 1911 is .45 caliber. which has a larger diameter than a .223 what the m4 uses , but the shell is much shorter. there are many sizes of cartridges in the world.

That round will ruin your day
KrazyKunuck101 4 months ago
Great, they invented a round that would solve the nonexistent problem of the 5.56mm round having too little stopping power, and this great new weapon has more recoil while held back with a sandbag than an m4 fired from one hand.
inkbot2000 5 months ago
@inkbot2000 i know right? why does everyone rag on the 5.56? that thing will take ur head off and is extremely accurate...
pineapplexpression 5 months ago
@MtnMaiden I'll just use extended mags.
SomeEskimo7 5 months ago
I like it however there are a few things that could make it 100%, 1.longer barrel maybe 3 to 4 more inches, 2. tighten up the rifling for better accuracy with those changes it would be one hell of a rifle, plus taking out a target fuck seeing flying through the air 50. cals take off chunks even arms and legs damn that would be sweeeeettt!!!!!

This is meant to be used as a secondary weapon for blasting locks and hinges off doors and for stopping cars at checkpoints....... however it would be tempting to take out an enemy with just to see him go flying about 5 feet lol

"hey guys! we made a gun that can shoot through glass!...oh wait"
Jamesamaphone 5 months ago
@Jamesamaphone Because of the angle of most windshields, and the fact that standard military rounds are quite small (NATO 5.57mm), the rounds usually are deflected off at an angle, or some warlord has outfitted his death squad's vehicles with reinforced glass, which would need a heavier round to penetrate.
Thorovain 5 months ago
@Thorovain Or a round with a hardened steel core, which exist for the 5.56mm.

Does this weapon have a magazine enlargment? Like a drum or something? Im willing to purchase one at my local gun dealer. HELP.
zoa1011 5 months ago
They are holding the weapon soooo bad, if the commentator was a SEAL, how can it be that he cant hold a weapon (especially one with a recoil that high) correctly?
andromedarr 5 months ago
@andromedarr Holding the weapon by the magwell is quite standard. Without a rail mounted verticle grip which is far more ergonomical than holding the underside of the barrel, holding the magwell gives you the ergonomic grip without sacrificing muzzle control. The man is a SEAL, and you are critiquing his stance? I think the video clearly shows he is more than capable of controlling the weapon. Just because you play airsoft doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.
jaxm666 5 months ago
@jaxm666 Omg, I just looked at your profile. You really do play airsoft! LOL
jaxm666 5 months ago
@jaxm666 I probably know more than you do. This guy isnt even putting the stock into his shoulder (a mistake made by almost any soldier woth an AR-15), and holds by the magwell.
The best way to manage the recoil of the gun is the thumb break grip, and standing frontally to the target, feet at shoulder width, leaning into the weapon, and bhavong the stock a little mor ethe the middle of you body. He is doing everything wrong that you could poasibly do wrong.
andromedarr 5 months ago
@andromedarr I've been in the canadian military for 13 years as of the 5th of august, my birthday. The thumb break grip is absolutely, and utterly useless in a combat situation. Yeah, if you're a pussy footed competition shooter I'm sure your wonderful thumb break grip is perfect for standing motionless while hefting your 40lb competition rifle, and shooting at a stationary target. In the real world things like cover, and mobility are more important. YOU might not be able to control that beast
jaxm666 5 months ago
@jaxm666 theres a canadian military?

@EoghanO92 Nah, we just drive around in jeeps getting drunk on canadian beer and shoot beavers.
jaxm666 5 months ago
@jaxm666 haha and meese....mooses?....moosei?
EoghanO92 5 months ago
@andromedarr but I think it's clear from the video that these adult gentlemen clearly have no problem handling the amount of energy released by a 400+ grain bullet fired at supersonic speeds. These aren't your .2gram 6mm BB's, son.
jaxm666 5 months ago
Hm, it seems like you think that i never shot a real rifle. I actually did just recently (aditionally, i already applied for the officer-carrier in the german army), and i tested out the thumb break grip with the stance shown above against not shouldering the weapon completely (about like they did in the vid), and with holding just the foregrip, while in the squared rifle stance. ALthough the first method was more tiring than the last one, my hit ratio was much better, especially in fast semi
andromedarr 5 months ago
@andromedarr ........... You've fired a rifle once..... Just recently....... At stationary targets...... Well shit, you must be an expert now son! Forget the 200-300,000 rounds (on average) I fire per year at ranges from 8m to 400m. This does not include mounted guns, grenades, and pistols, by the way.
This also does not include combat.
Yes, I have been in combat.
Ever been shot at? Ever shot at someone WHILE being shot at? Try hiding behind a brick wall or sand dune and shoot your way. Try it.
jaxm666 5 months ago
@jaxm666 Was the guy in the video under fire? NO, so your last post is just bullshit.
He did use the wrong stance and grip.
I didnt say i am an expert, but i know enough to see what mistakes he makes.
andromedarr 5 months ago
@andromedarr The guy in this video happens to be a former Navy SEAL for i believe 4 years.
sgtjor1234 5 months ago
@sgtjor1234 That also doesnt change, that he held the weapon wrong, leading to bad recoil management.
