I'm a snowboarder and if you ask many other snowboarders who are "in the know" they will know who you are talking about.. He isn't the house hold name in our day and age.. just like our kids won't know who shaun white is in 10 or 20 years.. all pros kinda fade out of the spot light eventually. doesn't mean they don't rock.. it happens in every sport..
