In the movie, Guile is the main character, Ryu becomes a lowlife that knows a bit about martial arts.
We as kid always looked at it as "1 person punching out another", maybe, or maybe a winning guy against a losing guy, or the good beating the bad. Who knows? But now we've all grown up... doesnt that tell you anything?
And hey, i'm not saying that this was made for White supremacy or something like that, instead I think that this Japanese game was FULL of stereotypes of "non-Japanese" cultures.
So what if it was the black guy knocking the white guy down, it's not racist.

On the US and PAL Mega Drive/Genesis version they changed the black guy to white. On the JP Mega Drive Version he is still black.
