  • cool hair !!!

  • u r the first person i saw band there hair thanks a million

  • When I banded it left my hair dry. I think the Bands soaked up all the moisture.. It was a whole lot faster than braiding/twisting though

  • very cool, but does it make your hair grow faster? or at all?

  • I tried this method, I did get the length, but my hair wasn't as full and fluffy as it would be if I blow it out on low/cool heat. Any suggestions?

  • to strech my hair I use the thread for weave not the sewing one. I did a video I think its on utube bt its in french :D

the thread is good after a shampoo to strech th hair just have to leavit for a nite n the next day it's just!!! BAnGING!

  • I Love this Method...I'm not a great braider and it's good for stretching A TWA without taking forever on twists or braids. I tried a new method 2nite, brushing eco styler and smooth and shine gel through wet hair with my denman brush and then Banding. I'm Hoping that it will retain curl pattern and just be more stretched. (fingers crossed(-:)

  • Hmmm.... never thought about that well good luck and let me know how it turns out.

  • Hmmm. I was just considering doing banding to twists so as not to lose length so much. I have like 75% shrinkage:) will have to watch more vids to see if others have done either of these successfully. Hope you post your results!

  • Now,I have 2 strand twists w/ Olive Eco and Shea. They are very close to the Scalp. I'll Band them out and Let Y'all Know(-: SummerOrchid1 also has a Vid on banding 4b 4c hair. I tried it on my twist out and had a beautiful stretched curly Fro(-: However My Fav of All Time is still a Wash N' Go!(~: Hope you report on your results too!

  • Well, I just didn't get the Results I was looking for...lol!It was Too Flat and weird looking.

  • Thanks for posting this banding video, i tried this today after washing and conditioning my hair. i put in some Cantu leave- in repair cream, banded it and let it dry. After that i flat ironed it and it came out very soft and straight. my husband couldn't believe how long my hair actually is. Yeah I hate blow drying but this method helped a bunch! thanks so much!

  • That's cool. I'm gonna try that.

  • thanks for posting this video, Question: once your hair has dried from banding, can you proceed into flat ironing it?

  • I personally have not tried flat ironing my hair after banding BUT I don't see why not. If you do it, let me know how it turns out.

  • Are these regur rubber bands or somethin else?

  • I use ouchless bands by Goody.

  • I've just started using bands on my locs to keep them from bunching and it stretches them out making them longer.

  • i have short sides too but for some reason i like that lol

  • interesting video =^)

  • ever since i went natural almost two years ago i haven't put any heat on my hair. i always braid my hair into tiny braids and take it out the next morning. i think next i will try banding and see how it looks

  • I have seen people w/ their hair like this in even smaller bands. Just thought it was a style. I'm just growing my relaxer out, and am looking forward to trying this method when it gets longer. My hair really suffers from to much heat!

  • I have "issues" with my sides too at the moment lol. Thanks for the video very helpful. God bless your little baby in the background :-)

  • dat is ugly

  • It's not suppose to be cute... smh you're stupid...lol it's not a style. I wouldn't walk out the house like this.

  • It isn't a hair style. Just a method to stretch out hair. Hope this helps.

  • what does this do? make your hair grow faster?

  • No...lol it just stretches the hair. It's another alternative to blow drying or using heat to stretch the hair out.

  • oh. my. wouldn't it just be easier to flat iron it. just use lots of good stuff in your hair and a heat protectant and go for it.

  • Heat damages your hair and for me heat is not an option (I do not use heat on my hair). I definitely would NOT flat iron my hair even if I had a heat protectant.

  • The baby girgles in the background are just too adorable.... I'm gonna have another baby.....LOL... notttt!!!!!!! Great video... I'm gonna try this when I take out my braids.

  • west africans band with a sort of tough wire-like string. we jsut tie that string all the way to the end and it has an ever better effect than the banding would give you. you can use the same type of string that people use for sow-in weaves.

  • you are so right! my mom used to do it for me growing up. i just never paid attention to how it looked when i took it out. I'm Nigerian btw.

  • I'm congolese...lol!!yea I remember how I used to love how my hair was stretched after taking them down.

  • How do you end it? Do you tie it or something else?

  • Your hair might look crazy but your arms look excellent. That bicep is just moving up and down. Nice display of muscle and you are not even flexing. Wow! How do they look flexed, then? Cool...

  • Lol... well thanks! I guess it comes from exercising I used to do. I was also a very athletic person growing up.

  • What style do you wear when you're sleeping so that your hair doesn't shrink back up?

  • Well... I'll either be too lazy to do anything and the next day it would still be stretched or I'll twist it in big twists.

  • thanks for this video, I was wondering what banding was.

  • can you send me a note about ur experience with carol's daughter? i am tryin to do my research before i decide to buy or not buy. thanks in advance for your helpful comments!

  • have you tried ohm or carol's daughter products?

  • Yes, I've tried both. I like OHM's honey hemp conditioner only as for Carol's Daughter... well let's just say I'll never buy any of her hair products again.

  • Hey girl! I tried this last night. I loved how it turned out this morning. Im definately gonna do this when I dont feel like twisting my hair up!

  • Have you ever tried twisting it while wet and then untiwisting it when it's dry?

  • Oh yeah! I perfer twisting on dry hair because I have serious shrinkage but I do think you get a coily'er twist out when you've twisted on wet hair. I usually band when I don't feel like putting twists (big or small) in.

  • Okay, I get you.

  • thanks for the shout out

  • You scared the HELL out of me...LOL.I thought Kinky was going through a crisis LOL...I'm going to try it. Love your vids keep'em coming.

  • girl i tried that once, but i was a dummy and used rubber bands which is a no-no!

  • That is really cool!

  • listen to your baby in the background. How freaking cute. Sounds like he (or she) is blowing spit bubbles

  • is that ure babies bobo's?...lol!

  • lol! i would actually wear that style while doing my videos, and give these losers on here more things to talk about ...lol!

  • My hair and I thank you! I appreciate you taking the time out to make a vid for my question :-)

  • Ah yes! Lynncmor1, it was you that I was trying to remember the name...lol

  • Girl, I never would have thought to use this method. Now, I am going to try it.

  • Hello there, I was just watching your video and was wondering if I could use this technique to help w/shrinkage,,I havent learnt how to embrace my shrinkage yet,,,I'm really trying...(twa)..

  • Oh yeah, definitely. It's a great technique to stretch the hair without using damaging heat. If you have at least 2 inches of hair I'm pretty sure you can do it.

  • I was goin to band my hair last weekend. But got lazy lol. I will try it one of these days coming up.

  • what's dusting?

  • Dusting to me, is basically going through and clipping hair that are or look like their splitting and clipping away knots that I can't smooth out. Anyway, that's what dusting is to me, may be different to someone else.

  • You read my mind I'm editing a video on banding right now.

  • Lol... I can't wait to see it :D
