I dont think they were acting coz in an eps from season 8 tony shows signs that they their hook up was real (in the show of course) coz McGee asks tony if he was just putting on a show and he doesn't answer so that tells us that Tony and Ziva wern't putting on a show.

ive been watching old episodes and there has been foreshadowing to the finale with ziva captured. in the episode with the many bodyy parts found (called head case) she tells tony she decided a long time ago she would never be taken alive. in another episode, she says how nobody can last more then a few days while held captive, even a man like gibbs would break. sadly both of these are hinting that she won't make it out! but i doubt the writers would actually kill her off
