Do you know why people buy tC's? Because they like low end, usable torque. The 5mt tC can start in 2nd gear, shift at 2,500rpm and still pass traffic, good luck doing that in an RSX.

I had a tc then traded it for a 350z then traded that for a g35, out of all these cars I miss the tc the most due to its simplicity and after market support. Also, I was able to fit anything on that damn little car.

The STI is a nice car, but a bit overpriced. The TC has a fantastically strong bottom end that responds to boost very well, with no side effects! Just like the old Supras did. Toyota builds a very good bottom end engine.
@rhythmnsmoke That is total bull. The TC weighs 2900lbs with 160hp stock, and probably 210-230 with the aftermarket stuff the person has in this video. The STI comes STOCK with 300 horsepower and only weighs about 150lbs more than the TC. Plus the STI in this video has some aftermarket stuff added on. It needs a better driver. And to add on to that, the STI uses a flat 4 engine rather than a straight 4 engine, which makes it more efficient, and many other advantages. But im out of room.
@parkerbailey12345678 First off, I knew the dude driving the tC in this video. The tC is making 330whp not 210-230 lol. tC's make 230whp with 6psi of boost, this one is on 11 bud. Second, I have videos of this VERY tC running low 12's in the 1/4 mile. This STI WITH it's upgrades would be hard press to run the same trap speed this tC did when he had it. And last, no we don't need a built motor to make 400whp, my tC makes 326whp/320wtq @ 11psi on a stock motor...AND I have vids to back it

And we make 300 to the WHEELS easy! STI is 300hp at the motor, not at the wheels. With the upgrades on that STI he is probably making 250-280whp. Obviously he's going to get murked by a tC at anything over 10psi (which is where we start making over 300whp). I have vids of me walking on an STI too

@Malikot911 The tC in this video was doing low 12's at the drag strip. Of course unlike factory turbo cars, tC's with a turbo are not all created equal. Depends on the owner and what he put into it, as not all of them are running 12's or low 12's for that matter.
Uhm, people saying try the STI vs the tC from a dig, need to stfu. The STI will launch better, but will lose power and the tC will keep picking up and eventually zoom by the STI.
i gotta say im impressed with that tc, most of them spend like 1 or 2k to get it supercharged and they cant even beat an si, this one took an sti..not bad not bad :)
@sktrsam2 They make turbo kits for auto tC's. Just bolt it on and get it tuned. If you can turn a wrench, you can bolt up a turbo kit. :) You will just be limited to 250whp which is all the Auto tranny can handle, unless you build the trans. 5spd is much better in that regard.
maybe a stage 2 sti?…what fully built with everything on the scion?…. but the same amount of money into the sti and u would poo on a fuck load of fast cars
@rhythmnsmoke sure a stock boosted motor makes a difference cuz without the turbo kit on the TC there would be no reason for the sti to race it and just so you know the sti engine is stock too with just about the equivalent mods!

He assumed the tC had to be on a built motor just because it beat an STI. tC doesn't need a built motor to just beat an STI, not even a stage 2 STI would a tC need a built motor. It will make 350-400whp before it needs internals, which is plenty of power to walk on an STI. I knew the guy who was driving the tC in this video (he's a crook now though and doesn't have a very good rep these days). I have beaten STI's with my tC as well.

@951prerunner actually what you're saying is wrong. AWD launches are tricky at best. Look at what Top Gear has shown. AWD CAN win if the launch is absolutely perfect, but if you miss even slightly then the AWD launch loses. FWD launches = more consistent than AWD. So, if the TC beats it at a rolling start then the majority of the scenarios dictate a Scion win. Thus your point is moot and not note-worthy.

man you guys are funny...that looks like a pretty quick tc. I used to have a 400awhp suby (low reading dyno) and now I drive a tc which I dont plan on doing any mods too. But, shoot the tc in the video looked pretty good. Just remeber guys...this doesnt mean that there isnt a suby out there that would beat this tc. Infact there is always someone faster...he with the most money wins...no matter what car you dump money into... But these 2 cars ran and the tc won...good job.
@marty1091 yeah i have a 2007 tc rs 3.0 and at about 300hp or below they handle ok, mine has 200 and the understeer is minimal but most of the cars at the track are well over 300hp, I usually see a lot of vettes and porsche 911s running well over 500hp
@rhythmnsmoke you serious right now? in a fwd car with ~300hp or more (depending on the cars suspension) when you step on it through a corner the understeer hits and that has everything to do with handling, look up understeer if you don't already know exactly what it is and then get back to me.
@n9athan Pay attention now. I said HP as in "horsepower" has nothing to do with poor or better handling. Undeterred has to do more with your cars setup suspension and tire wise and not your HP. You could have a 140hp car and get undesteer and poor handling. Same as you can have a 500hp FWD and get great handling.
@rhythmnsmoke you should link me to a 500hp fwd car with great handling, considering ford worked their ass off to produce a 345hp fwd car that can handle (and it costs about 50k) i highly doubt 500hp will work, and i know that at 140hp the car can understeer but at 500hp it will always understeer and if that doest screw you in a turn the torque steer out will so the power isn't usable. Try driving a well tuned tc with 300hp and compare that to a rwd car with 300hp and you will catch my drift.

And I was drifting a 350z before I sold it, so I have had experience with both. My tC is getting a new turbo setup here in a couple of weeks. @Malikot911 The tC in this video was doing low 12's at the drag strip. Of course unlike factory turbo cars, tC's with a turbo are not all created equal. Depends on the owner and what he put into it, as not all of them are running 12's or low 12's for that matter.

Uhm, people saying try the STI vs the tC from a dig, need to stfu. The STI will launch better, but will lose power and the tC will keep picking up and eventually zoom by the STI.

@sktrsam2 They make turbo kits for auto tC's. Just bolt it on and get it tuned. If you can turn a wrench, you can bolt up a turbo kit. :) You will just be limited to 250whp which is all the Auto tranny can handle, unless you build the trans. 5spd is much better in that regard.

He assumed the tC had to be on a built motor just because it beat an STI. tC doesn't need a built motor to just beat an STI, not even a stage 2 STI would a tC need a built motor. It will make 350-400whp before it needs internals, which is plenty of power to walk on an STI. I knew the guy who was driving the tC in this video (he's a crook now though and doesn't have a very good rep these days). I have beaten STI's with my tC as well.

@951prerunner actually what you're saying is wrong. AWD launches are tricky at best. Look at what Top Gear has shown. AWD CAN win if the launch is absolutely perfect, but if you miss even slightly then the AWD launch loses. FWD launches = more consistent than AWD. So, if the TC beats it at a rolling start then the majority of the scenarios dictate a Scion win. Thus your point is moot and not note-worthy.

And it doesnt even seem like ur taking the cars into factor of winning,you simply say that the awd has to launch perfectly or it loses...WTF? You have to take in account the cars drivetrain,power,weight,the driver and many other things that will determin how the race will end. Thus your point is moot and not note-worthy! HA

man you guys are funny...that looks like a pretty quick tc. I used to have a 400awhp suby (low reading dyno) and now I drive a tc which I dont plan on doing any mods too. But, shoot the tc in the video looked pretty good. Just remeber guys...this doesnt mean that there isnt a suby out there that would beat this tc. Infact there is always someone faster...he with the most money wins...no matter what car you dump money into... But these 2 cars ran and the tc won...good job.

@marty1091 yeah i have a 2007 tc rs 3.0 and at about 300hp or below they handle ok, mine has 200 and the understeer is minimal but most of the cars at the track are well over 300hp, I usually see a lot of vettes and porsche 911s running well over 500hp

@rhythmnsmoke you serious right now? in a fwd car with ~300hp or more (depending on the cars suspension) when you step on it through a corner the understeer hits and that has everything to do with handling, look up understeer if you don't already know exactly what it is and then get back to me.

@n9athan Pay attention now. I said HP as in "horsepower" has nothing to do with poor or better handling. Undeterred has to do more with your cars setup suspension and tire wise and not your HP. You could have a 140hp car and get undesteer and poor handling. Same as you can have a 500hp FWD and get great handling.

@rhythmnsmoke you should link me to a 500hp fwd car with great handling, considering ford worked their ass off to produce a 345hp fwd car that can handle (and it costs about 50k) i highly doubt 500hp will work, and i know that at 140hp the car can understeer but at 500hp it will always understeer and if that doest screw you in a turn the torque steer out will so the power isn't usable. Try driving a well tuned tc with 300hp and compare that to a rwd car with 300hp and you will catch my drift.

@n9athan Are we talking about stock cars here, or are you including any FWD. I don't need to imagine driving a 300hp FWD cause my tC has pushed over 300whp. And I was drifting a 350z before I sold it, so I have had experience with both. My tC is getting a new turbo setup here in a couple of weeks. Would you like to see a tC running the same lap times as an R35 GTR at the race track? I shot the video myself, I will send you the link.
