I definitely remember different voices and words. The teacher says "and whose fault is that madam? Certainly not his!" in the episode version I remember...with a much better voice actor.

I think, we got better voice actors now than what we had back then. In addition, if you notice, in the newer versions, they actually kept some of the Japanese rather than changing it to some name that was kind of silly like Dr. Elephant.
