  • Whats wrong with using ocean water? Why must you use drinking water?!? :(

  • The deregulation of energy, state by state, will create the biggest transfer of wealth this country has ever seen--not just in ur lifetime, but in whole history of US. U can prosper from natural gas, w/o having to work hard labor! 11-y.o. co, headquartered in KY, now includes energy w/other recurring bills we work with. Drive teams of 12 -create revenue for some of the largest companies in the world, and they pay you VERY WELL for this. No cap on earnings-Gather a few customers for nat. gas.

  • What kind of experience is required to work in this field? I am active duty right now, but this spring I will be leaving the Army and moving home to Ohio. I want a good job, and it seems Ohio is the place to be for Natural Gas Jobs.

  • @napalmloveskids Better to start your own home-based business. I can show you something, and help you get started. More lucrative than these jobs, no danger, and you're building something for yourself and your family, that no-one can ever take away from you. I am a home business coach--but I help young people acheive success for free. createweathspokane at gmail We work in every state & Canada, UK, & PR--I have team members in Ohio

  • @bignaughtydog chart meters are good to have at each well. you can just glance at it and know what its been producing in the past 16 days.(i use 16 day charts) a digital/solar meter usually reads total sales of multiple wells on a given lease. Basically digital meters tell you how much you produced in the last 24 hrs... so the chart is your hard copy as to what the hell's really going on over time.

  • Dave Lesher was a wireline engineer with Basin Surveys, Inc., and logged wells for us in 1976-77 in the Central and Southern Applalachian Basin in WV. We were exploring and developing natural gas fields from the Mid Mississippian to the Upper Devonian. He did a great job. So sorry he passed away. May God bless him and his family!

  • Back in the 80s I used to set wells up after they were drilled and fracked and then we would run pipe to a main line usually welded 2" we would set drips heaters ,seperators, steel and fiberglass collection tanks, we would put a anode about every 800 feet. That was in indiana county and jefferson I like the work it just was'nt steady enough. now I am a refrigeration pipefitter welder I weld pipe in the 6g from 1/2 to 48' pipe but I still miss working on the gas wells & lines.

  • spot on description 5/5 and a sub

  • sorry, i'm just used how its always been done up here, i was in no way trying to cast doubt upon you or your men or your practices.

  • i'm really suprised they drilled, frac'ed and prolly logged the well than shut her in for 30 days. i'd figure they're would be a production unit setup on it right after, and having that baby, pushing into the system.

  • All wells are not created equal, our field operation crews are highly experienced and deal with many different situations with each of the wells we drill. Drilling Natural Gas is an art, it takes years to perfect their skills in using all of their senses. Our people are some of the greatest artist in the business and I am honored to know them.

  • i agree drilling and production of NG is definitely an art, and these are some of the most skilled people on earth. hell i grew up with one of 'em, my father. he's been doing this for over 22 yrs. and cause of him, i'm going into the business too.

  • Their website says they are drilling in Pennsylvania. Unlike Texas, Pennsylvania probably doesn't have NG collector pipelines every 1000 yards, so they need to wait until they can pipe it out before they bring the well online.

This is much the same problem with natural gas found in the deep Gulf of Mexico and in Saudi Arabia. There is no market close enough to make a pipeline viable, so they flare it or re-inject it into the formation. It comes up with the crude, and you can't just release it

  • We actually have over 350 miles of interconnecting pipeline which feeds multiple collection stations from 3 different company's. Are NG ships east, west, north and south. New pipeline systems are currently being build to support all of the new higher pressure NG coming from the Marsellus Shale.

  • No, that's not what Shut-in means. All of our wells are hooked up to production immediately after they are Drilled and Hydro-Frac'd. Shut-in refers to an increased pressure in the collection line. When consumer usage declines, all wells continue to "naturally" push gas through the lines from far below the Earth's surface. Sometimes the wells pressure is not as strong as the pressure already existing in the line at that particular time.

  • I'm very interested in this. I'm a landman and this was an interesting perspective of what goes on. I'd like to ask why the well was "shut-in"? Are they now waiting to have a ROW out? Also, I'd like to know what state this was in? They said about 3,400 ft down. Is that Upper Devonian?
