How come the stereo sound cuts to mono when the singing starts?

This song reminds me of Christmas Eve when I'd spend most of my day watching Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and at midnight, I'd get so excited when at night, the news would announce Santa Claus' arrival for all the good little boys and girls so we would rush off to bed... lol I always did. It never failed to make me panic and think "I'd better go to sleep or I'm not getting that Barbie corvette!". lol And if I didn't think that, I thought "I don't wanna upset Santa!". lol

And I always left him cookies, so if he didn't get to eat some of them, I felt bad. lol Luckily, I always went to bed and my dad always made sure to eat some of the cookies while he helped mom get out the presents when I was asleep. lol The next morning, we would all eat the rest of the cookies together. :')
