PCs do NOT need constant updating, the average period between a REAL upgrade is roughly 2 or 3 years, and at that point they are only spending about 100$ on the upgrade. All that time the PC is still more powerful than a console.

How is PC gaming a cancer on the gaming industry? If anything consoles in general have been holding back the advancement of higher quality / better hardware driven games. PC gaming is suffering mainly due to pirating. I own a Wii, PS3, and a 360 (now a 3ds). I have played my fair share of everything out there. I get a much better experience on the PC when it comes to multi-platform games. I'm able to crank the graphics up and enabled advanced physics consoles cant handle right now.
Call Of Duty, Bioshock 1 and 2, Portal 1 and 2, Just Cause 1 and 2, Left for Dead 1 and 2, Dead Space 1 and 2, Starcraft 1 and 2, Every GTA Game, and too many too name.

It can't be the controller, because you can always get any style of USB controller. It can't be the graphics, because PCs are capable of graphics above and beyond 1080p (the current highest output on a console). It can't be the screen, because virtually every TV nowadays has a computer input. What is it?
You have to buy a new console to keep up with new games though. I agree with you that a PC is not a console, but gaming PC's do exist. People build computers specifically for playing video games, likewise as anyone would buy a console to play, well, video games.

Next gen consoles will be branded media center computers. With the RTS, MMO and FPS market failing on consoles, they'll have keyboard and mouse support with an open platform for indie devs to sell their products (Think android).
The only thing next gen consoles will have that differ them from PC's will be a fuckload of DRM. At that point, you might as well just buy a PC which is open, upgradable, better community and cheaper than consoles.
PC - $400, plus updates when you need them. Updates roughly $50 every year or two.
Console - $600-1000, new. Every three years.
Don't even argue the "HURP DURP PREPLAYED EBAY A YEAR AFTER" thing, because you're just getting less time out of the thing. Also, all PCs are backward compatible; and Emulators, too.
As a console fan boy myself I know understand & dare I say, even love the proprietary nature of the software in general.

The only thing I can really say about console vs PC is that PC has the best players hands down but PC gamers are kinda assholes,well some atleast. Ridiculing people because they don't have a PC that can play a game is wrong for the most part. There are people who genuinely don't have the money or time to devote for a PC. Consoles provide a easier way to have fun. There are alot of people who want to be and "Elitist" but its just not possible. Im only speaking for the PC ppl that gloat all time.

Lol the same experience from a PC that I get on a 360? Why would I downgrade? I've played on almost every gaming system, and yes if I want to play Halo or something like that then I'll have to play my XBOX but other than that, I'm on the PC. Reason? My computer provides more for me than your XBOX ever will for you. Here's an example:If I'm at a loading screen I don't have to just sit there and wait, I can swap windows and check something out on the internet with an actual browser not PS3 search.

Also: PC's not meant for gaming? Then explain the billions of worldwide sales in GAMING QUALITY PCS and the massive number of people that ASSEMBLE their own PC's SPECIFICALLY FOR GAMING.
PCs do NOT need constant updating, the average period between a REAL upgrade is roughly 2 or 3 years, and at that point they are only spending about 100$ on the upgrade. All that time the PC is still more powerful than a console.

PC Gaming is a standard, it's all manual shifting which saves on gas and you can just go faster and WIN! PC Gamer's see aim assist as cheating, and revoking any skill console gamer's could have, that's why fps on a console is a damn joke! However console does shine with other games, like mario maybe.

How is PC gaming a cancer on the gaming industry? If anything consoles in general have been holding back the advancement of higher quality / better hardware driven games. PC gaming is suffering mainly due to pirating. I own a Wii, PS3, and a 360 (now a 3ds). I have played my fair share of everything out there. I get a much better experience on the PC when it comes to multi-platform games. I'm able to crank the graphics up and enabled advanced physics consoles cant handle right now.

1. Pc Hardware is more powerful than consoles.
2. For RTS/MMO/FPS the mouse and keyboard is more presice.
3. The pc as an open platform can allow anyone to create a game.
4. The majority of multiplat games on the pc, are factually superior in several manners, such as customization, graphics, sound and controls.
5. It should probably also be noted that consoles as they have progressed have adopted from a PC, not the other way around.

A PC is a tool you can use for doing a whole ton of stuff, from making music, rendering videos, doing databases, making graphics, and... oh... playing games. All that you do with a PC depends on you. I'm primarily a console gamer, but that 'until you get the same experience as a 360, PS3, or Wii' comment was just plain stupid. What makes the game experience unique on a console versus a PC? It can't be the controller, because you can always get any style of USB controller. It can't be the graphics, because PCs are capable of graphics above and beyond 1080p (the current highest output on a console). It can't be the screen, because virtually every TV nowadays has a computer input. What is it?

Consoles will die before the PC will, hear me out.
Next gen consoles will be branded media center computers. With the RTS, MMO and FPS market failing on consoles, they'll have keyboard and mouse support with an open platform for indie devs to sell their products (Think android).
The only thing next gen consoles will have that differ them from PC's will be a fuckload of DRM. At that point, you might as well just buy a PC which is open, upgradable, better community and cheaper than consoles.

As a console fan boy myself I know understand & dare I say, even love the proprietary nature of the software in general.
I find the overall marketing method not only to be proven superior to what is done with PC game's (Only lacking in longevity & long term performance) but a safer & more stable way to own multiple games on one unit without issue as well.
