  • Darren is my every day hero!

    I´m a huge fan!

  • @danielnilssonmaki

I am so compelled to return to his work again and again and again

The way he changes the look of his films to tell new stories involving characters who engage themselves with things that cause destruction

His films deserve to be treasured..I know I do

  • I'm very interested to see what he does and no doubt he is a very interesting and unique director. However imo, so far his three movies lack much substance and are merely simple 2-dimensional ideas and meanings complicated for the sake of complication (albeit in an often interesting way). It is a pity though that he has only 3 movies made so far, such films don't get the funding they deserve.

  • i am in awe his mom was one of my kindergarten teachers. Her friends are the best! They made my childhood wonderful. She's an actress?

  • i was lucky enough to meet Him 2 weeks ago in London at a private screening, and he was amazing. one of the best evenings of my life to spend time in his company.

  • Aronofsky, no doubt has a handle on the "all is one" school of thought. In a modern era of canned filmmaking, Darren saves us with a much deeper perspective.

  • one of the greatest directors of all time.

  • ya! and only three movies.... he's a great new director

  • Requiem for a dream and Pi are both great films, but The Fountain i felt was confused and it was like two films in one.

so i think three films is two small a mile stone, Spielberg, Polanski, Scorcesee, a young Francis Ford Coppola. those are the greatest directors of all time, wait a few years, but if he only improves in bringing his exiting, post modern film technique, he i believe will be one of the best directors, certainly of america, you wont be able to compare him to a european dir.

  • spielberg?! why isn't kubrick on your list?!

  • ran out of word limit, but Kubrick, Gus Van Sant, Cronenberg (in his good films, he did some mad films), Clint Eastwood, Fincher, but in my top 5 Darren Aronofsky, would not be anywhere near the top 5...

  • lets not forget about the great David Lynch. he is top 5 in my book. and another great up and coming director by the name of pt anderson.

  • pt anderson is alright, there will be blood was fantastic, though i could not see a distinctive style and expression from the dir.

Lynch fo' shure is great. currently i am likin' The Coen Bros. "No Country For Old Men" was bea utiful

  • Aronofsky the legend

  • Aronofsky is a hack!

  • Your mom is a hack. After all, look what she spawned. You are as unlearned, as you are odoriferous. Of the people who should truly be called "hacks" lately, are those who make hugely grossing films devoid of anything other then entertaining the sheeple. Brat "ratface" Rattner and that idiot who directed "300" immediately to mind. But Darren Aronofsky being called a "hack"?? Thats either just humerous shite-stirring, or overwhelming ignorance.
