  • windows fucking media player 9? gimme a fucking break

  • whew...I'm stuck on step one: as soon as I install Crossover I can no longer download any binary files (.exe, scripts, etc) either within Crossover (when trying to get the auto-installer to download IE7) or in FF, Chrome, or Safari. In each I get a tiny partial file (~4kb). If I uninstall Crossover I can download the files just fine, but it still will not install them properly; it goes through the steps but then pops an error for each component saying that it can not be installed. Advice?

  • hi! thank you for your help but I still have a probleme with DRM! what can I do?

  • Great!! Now I can watch football matches on Mac. Thanx!!!!

  • thanks man! very smooth!!

  • After I install IE7. And then I try to install windows media player, I go in choose installer file and it doesn't give me an option. When I download from the Internet it says enter validation key. I'm stuck somebody help

  • Hi, wondering if you can help. When i went to install IE7 on Crossover it failed to install flash, i tried downloading it separately but it still said failed and won't download it. It said it recommends i use the mac plug-in of flash or linux version. Will it still work or do i need the IE7 version? i have no idea why it downloads everything apart from flash. Also, because it won't finish the download i don't get to the window to install IE7.

    Cheers.

  • Are you also able to view StreamTorrent ?

  • Thank you.. love you.. but please don't upload on fileserve next time!

  • Thanks, this works perfectly with Lion as well! I understand that some people have problems with the pixelation in VLC, well, i don't :) !

  • hey, firstly thanks for the tutorial it works and is excellent. the only problem i have encountered is that sopcast tends to crash quite a bit when moving in between channels, and the 'x' button on the top left hand corner never works. do you know why? i have to force quit sopcast and the message pops up saying 'sopcast has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. this can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in wine.'

    any help?

  • Great stuff. Like what the comments below say it lags when u open up full screen on WMP, but if you use VLC it shouldn't be a problem! Thanks for your help really appreciate it! :)

  • Whoa. Scrap that. The moment I posted the comment, the bottle got created! Will go ahead and try to get the rest of the stuff done hopefully it works! :D

  • Hi. Just a quick question. Does running bootcamp on a mac affect Crossover's ability to create a bottle? As I type this comment out, I've already waited almost 5 minutes for the bottle to be created. Something's wrong right? :(

  • Thank you for making a long and annoying process bearable! I tried to do this before and it didn't work... but now it does.

  • Thanx mate! Doesn't really work in fullscreen with all the pixels and lagging, but it runs ok in a small window. Good enough for some seriously needed live soccers streams ;-) Great vid!

  • picture is running slowly on full screen mode but u can use Control+zoom xD quality is not very good btw it's fullscreen :P

  • Superb! Great tutorial

    Thank you ever so much!

  • Great Tutorial! Thank you so much!

  • Excellent video man, Thanks a million :)

  • First let me say thanks a lot for this video, made it all a lot more clear. I did have an issue at the last hurdle thought..

I had the same problem as 'erfansaadati' in that when i logged into sopcast, it started loading up, at about 12:50, the sopcast window disappeared and it told me 'invalid parameters received'.

now when i try to open, it will just freeze after logging in with no error message, i cant close it, usually have to do a force quit or shut down crossover. Thanks for the help man

  • whats the point of media player if we're going to get sopcast?

  • @samdersnc Its tellin me invalid parameters receieved any idea how i can fix it ?

  • hey man my wmp9 dosnt work help :o

  • ur awesome dude! thanks much broh

  • and what's the use of TVU????

  • and i couldn't play the live well in VLC, it just automatically stopped the live, but i could play it well in media player

  • @wongpaksum I have the full version with no problems. Not sure if trial version users have had any issues, but I'm happy with my set up.

  • thank you for you tutorial! i wanna know if there is any problems if i downloaded to use the trial one but didn't buy it, 'cause it only got 30 days trial

  • After I had installed sopcast into my mac, my sopcast shows "cannot access sopcast service" at my wmp display. How do i resolve this?

  • @sirsam1988 never had that error. try reinstalling wmp...also did you make sure that you updated your codecs?

  • @sirsam1988 This happens when the SopCast servers are down. Although it works with p2p connection, it actually needs to know who is streaming on which channel. It happens from time to time for SopCast servers to be down.

  • @sirsam1988 Turn of the firewall mate.

  • @sirsam1988 I have the same issue

  • worked very well .. thank you .. keep it up

  • Thanx mate nice video, I've got one problem though, the quality is very low, can u help?

  • Sorry me again pal, with another question. It's working fine but when I'm watching a stream and I maximise the stream it appears very pixelated and the stream starts running very slowly, this happens on all streams and also if I maximise on VLC. I know it is not the stream because on my other computer it works perfectly when I maximise the stream. Any way I can sort this out? Cheers

  • @FreeHabboCredits12 @talgatbio i'll need to see what I can come up with for the resolution. The resolution gets distorted on my macbook screen, but on my TV it looks ok. Not sure what the issue is but hopefully i'll have an answer soon.

  • Thanks a lot mate. Looks like I had forgotten to copy Crossover into my application folder when I was busy faffing around with the downloads. I just re-installed it and it worked fine, didn't have to create a new bottle. Your guide seriously helped a lot man, previously I've been looking at sites for ages trying to get sopcast to work but always ran into problems. I was thinking of installing Windows 7 on my mac as a final attempt to watch the football, wont need to now. Thanks a lot!

  • @FreeHabboCredits12 Happy it worked out for you. I was about to run boot camp on my machine as well until I was able to figure this out. Enjoy the games!!!

  • Very good guide, and very detailed; I got it working fine.

One question is that when I was on Sopcast my mac turned off. When I turned it back on and tried to open Sopcast it wouldn't open, I tried to re-open crossover but it doesn't appear to be on my applications any longer. When I search crossover on my finder I just get the crossover file with all my stuff in I created before. How can I fix this problem without having to redo everything? Thanks a lot!

  • @FreeHabboCredits12 Never had that happen, or heard of that happen. I suppose there's the off chance that crossover was never copied correctly to the applications folder. Since the programs are still there go ahead and reinstall crossover....and you should be able to run the programs without having to reinstall the WinXP bottle. Let me know if you run into issues!

  • im running IE7 too

  • hey , i followed everything you said, thank you so much for the video . i have question though

some live channels dont work at all and if i click and wait for them the program crashes after a little while. ??

i dont have the TVU software im not sure if i have to have it in order for the sopcast to work properly, i know its listed as well but i see that you didnt give it much attention so i didnt bother with it ??

    thank you

  • @lessen1 If the channel doesn't load then it's probably offline and you'll need to wait until the stream comes back up. I've had my version of SopCast crash after a while as well, but I only need to restart CrossOver for everything to work again.

TVU is an alternative that is designed for Mac OS X so you won't need to install it in CrossOver. Once you download it just load the .dmg image and install. It's an OK alternative, but doesn't have as many channels as SopCast.

  • ive firefox though ? still works?

  • @MU2511 Does SopCast run at all? If SopCast runs then don't worry about IE7 and just use safari, opera, or firefox instead to search for channels. If it doesn't work then delete the entire XP bottle by selecting the 'Manage Bottles' item out of the menu. Then click the '-' sign in the lower left hand corner to delete it. Then start over. Let me know if that doesn't work.....

  • Hey good vid but when i open sopcast i get internet explorer script error pls help

  • @MU2511 Are you running IE 6 or IE7, and did you install through CrossOver?

  • @sandersnc 7 i diid install through cross over
