it took some patience to get use to this game but now that im getting the hang of im having alot of fun lol.. the over complexities are getting easier to deal with and since i figured out how to change the controlls to view mode its sooo much easier to handle.

i think anyone who starte dwith morrowind or oblivion should defenately try this out, and have patience at first cause it might seem overwhelming but you get used to it.

this is the first game i ever bought for my pc back in 1996 and i can clearly say it set the mark for the rest of the rog's you can see the way it is played to move the mouse whilst holdint the atack button reminds me alot of the new kineckt systems of today only back then they didnt have the spevial sensors all we had was a mouse and a keyboard so you could say it was the begining

@jamesm2557 Hold the attack button, and move the mouse from left to right, up/down, diagonally or vise versa. It's not like the other fighting systems, It takes some getting used to, but IMO its my favorite system.

How did you get this game to run? I cant even install it it keeps telling me I don't have enough space for it and I'm using a 1tb hard drive.

@AnarickTheDevil Are you installing it by running install or using DOSBOX? I don't think it detects the drive space right without DOSBOX. If you are, you can do the minimum install and make sure the CD is mounted in DOSBOX every time you play.

@AnarickTheDevil Well, you can make a config, so all you would have to do is load the shortcut and it would just load the game instantly every time, with the CD already mounted. That's what i did.

This game looks like it would scare the shit out of me.

I don't know why, but old games + Old graphics + old sound effects that aren't clear or realistic, and steady, repetitive music like this, makes things really eerie for me. Especially with a game like this, I heard its really big and shit, gives it an air of mystery about it.

There's not a single horror game that scares me on the market today though.

When I played this I used the store-waiting glitch to get the best items, lycanthropy so I'd be super tough and I got teleportation spells so everything would be easier.

But guess what? The dungeons were still unbearable : with unpredictably powerful enemies, dozens of levels and a bunch of traps, secret passages and more.

Curiously enough, this game has the best MAPS out of any Bethesda game (that's two decades). I wish they had a 3D map in Fallout 3 instead of a green pixelated mess.

@JaKeth3snake unfortunately the gameplay hasn't improved at all.

In fact, Daggerfall felt a lot more detailed than morrowind/oblivion despite it's obvious limitation as a very old game.

haha i loved this type of dungeon, it`s like doing an endoscopy of a cow`s intestinal tract. the only bummer was when the quest target wasn`t there or when the game crashed, which was OFTEN. after the big patch, things got a lot better. great feeling when you exit into the wilderness after completing a real nasty dungeon. no other game ever gets you this experience to the same degree!

I just got out of the first dungeon and I'm confused about this game. I go to Daggerfall, and they won't let me in. There is a ghost and a rat outside, so I start to climb the wall up. Then guards start yelling "Halt!" and some random guy keeps saying "VENGANCE!!!!" in an echo. I'm so confused. Can any experts help me get started?

Its not really confusing. You can go ANYWHERE in the game without going to Daggerfall. Daggerfall is mostly the main Quest.

You will be handed a letter saying "Meet (forgot her name) at a special location. WRITE IT ON PAPER, its the only way to remember things ingame.

First meet with her then you are free to go anywhere ingame.

I just goto Ripmore and join the Mages Guild and so tons of quests.

I modded the game so I can carry tons of stuff. he he.

Play almost everyday.

well not really, concidering it lacks many of the features that were presented in this one. Don't get me wrong, i played oblivion first, and it was good, but i played this afterward and it just blows oblivion out of the water. You lose graphics quality, but you gain so many options in developing your character and playing how you want. Also you might want to notice that this game was released in 1996, around quake, so this was pretty amazing back then. But i grew up with games like this so...

@jackoneill45 I'm playing Oblivion right now. the only one i have played. I'm sure this might have a great story, but it looks like a very advanced doom or quake. And it's only story that makes me like a game more than another, not really if i can do more with my character. So I would have to play to see the story.
