Only things in this show that makes me cry were Fiona's death and not actually Adam's death but that scene at the end with their son Wes. Poor Wes, lost both of parents on so tragical ways.

Came across this show on PBS. Was good. Then i found out they killed off most of the crew in the later seasons. Good show but I wish Rupert hadn't been killed off. He's the reason I started watching the show in the first place. Great vid! Song adds to the sadness of adam's death.

No matter how many times I watch this episode, this bit still sends a shiver up my spine. Especially when Harry goes to meet Adams' son afterwards- that brings a tear to the eye! Spooks really is a fantastic programme, so well written and moments like this show that anything can happen to any character. Ros' death is also brilliantly done. I'd rather watch re-runs of this on a Saturday night then all these daft reality/music shows.

@TheYeoman85 Not everything is about class and smoothness, 24 is unique in its style. And to be perfectly honest, 24 also had the harder job of dealing with hour-to-hour continuity and more wide episodic arc than Spooks ever did. I adore Spooks, it's amazing. But it is rather unfair to compare a show that only cranks out less than 10 episodes every year and has less to deal with against one that has to put out 24 episodes every year and with the hard job of keeping to the 24-hour format.

@BetaArtemis quality over quantity mate. fair enough 24 is original. i got to the 12th hour ( i think) and turns out that dana was working 4 the wogs and that emp strike at the hq was a joke so had to stop watching after that.  just my opinion. as for the number of episodes it costs about a million quid to make an episode imagine what the bbc could do with 24's budget. food for thought....

Maybe adam will come back as a fruit shop owner. he could be casing russian spies in his neighbourhood and lacing their veges with truth drugs, so when they fall into a deep sleep while shopping at his shop, he can get them to divulge the plans for some dastardly plot that involves all manner of wicked behavior. Imagine that, a vege shop owner saving the world from the brink of disaster. Its plausible. Slap some muscles on him and make him look like Rupert PJ and there you have it

If they have killed off the character of Adam, well how boring is that! Why couldn't they have sent him on holiday in Siberia or something? or suffering from amnesia for a few seasons until the actor playing Adam decides he wants to carry on playing Adam? Roz isn't that much of a character to make you come back to watch each week, but Roz and Adam makes a pretty formidable cast. I would prefer the Bobby Ewing Show Scene Dream sequence, personally.

Maybe the guy who plays Adam wanted to do something different. Pity though. I liked that he played a dark hero, even if some of the things that this program seems to play out, are quite disturbing. I hope he isn't really dead. Maybe the makers of the show will do a dream sequence, like they did with Bobby Ewing in Dallas, and Adam suddenly reappears from the shower. Maybe Roz had a bad hair day and a bad dream and Adam isn't really dead, he's in the shower.

oh god, I remember seeing this when the episode aired...I never much liked Adam, but I was still in complete shock, I even cried a little, though not as much as I did with Zaf's death, probably because his was much more drawn out and you sort of guessed he'd be dead after not hearing anything all those months. But Adam's death was so sudden that it was just...shocking, not really sad

I read an article a while back saying he was meant to leave midway through the seventh series, the first episode is not midway, that's why it came as a bigger shock when he died. I never heard of richard armitage until he appeared in spooks. adam was a hero and he died as one, that's a good ending for adam, just not for his fans.

i think rupert once mentioned halfway through the series too , but i suppose it was just misspoken. there was an article in a magazine way back last year b4 theyve even started filming spooks or annouced about lucas north where rupert said he just got married, he also mentions briefly that he might just do 1 or 2 episodes in this series so some people might have seen it coming, some might not.but like you said, great ending from adam. <33

I know this is cruel thing to say but I'm glad harry and ros shot that russian guy at the end, I honestly thought they weren't going to make him pay for adam's death at all because of the way they were talking.

Yeah, because although we had built up a "relationship" with him as a character, we hadn't really seen him for over a year so it was strange to see him onscreen again only to be killed within an hour. If he had died in a few episodes time it would mean there was time to feel closer to the character again. (Im trying to make this sound not-gay haha)
