You don't have to like my montage and you are perfectly at liberty to say so and why, but if you post comments that are abusive to people with Down's Syndrome or learning disabilities, then I will block and report you and remove your comments.
This montage was made in celebration of people with Down's Syndrome (including my late son) and I will not tolerate any form of hatred speech towards anyone in comments.
My brother has downs & people like you who like to send abuse should take note - downs people are born how they are and have no choice, but you, with your immature comments do have a choice. Grown up. Just goes to show that you haven't got a clue, go look in the mirror, and you'll see the biggest 'retard' going.
@commodore64fan I love how you say "they're not normal" when, they're all around you. All the time, 24/7. There's probably an equal amount of people with disabilities as there is "normal" people. I realize that you're probably some 14 year old junior high kid, but that doesn't make it okay. Get off your soap box and grow up.
@lookstokill16 Thanks for replying to those comments which I hadn't seen.
I don't normally moderate comments, but I have removed them as I am not prepared to have such comments for people to read. If they offered opinion in a polite measured way, fine, but frankly the terminology was unacceptable.
my little brother has downs i am writing a book for him he is the one at 2:24 at the top with a suit on he is so important to me ya it can be hard but we will get through it together ya he looks different but on the inside hes just the same ya he may have trouble learning but we all aint perfect i love my brother with all my heart idk what i would do without him He teaches me so much so dont feel bad for people with downs because they are perfectly fine they dont want to be pitied just loved<3
Omg I love this, my daughter has downs, my little pieces of heaven here on earth. This was awesome thank u for sharing, more ppl need to be educated there's so much ignorance in the world, but I have learned what's said out of the mouth it will slap u in the face. Just a little advise for the ignorant comment.
@finishfixer You have never been lucky enough to know anyone with down syndrome if you had you would never make such a disgusting comment. They are more than capable of everything that you do and more. They would never be so nasty to another person with or without downs as they are too loving. Maybe you should wonder why you are a rude and bitter person!! You need to be pitied, they are happy and lovely to know. For my friend Danny B and many more. Downs don't want or need pity.
@finishfixer - I appreciate the concerns about their ongoing welfare, but this montage was about showing that people with DS are more alike than different and sadly whilst issues like Alzheimer's may occur sooner in their population, these are issues that any of us may face as we age. I could only use the photos offered me, but in case you missed them, there were nearly 10% of them featuring teenagers and adults. In my view it's about educating society about acceptance and inclusion for all.
I am the parent of an adult with DS. She is going to be 22 in December and I agree that to look into the future is very scary indeed! I sure hope that I find people out there who will look after her well when her dad and I are no longer able too. She is still a huge joy but agreed it is also a very huge worry.
I'm annoyed, wonderful, glorious, whatever you want, but what about adults with Down Syndrome? Who's gonna wipe their ass? Who's gonna make sure they still have a social life after they stop being so cute. Did you know that Alzheimer's will onset around 40, What the fuck?
@finishfixer your comments are not worth a reply but eileen mum to Danny who is a joy and this part of the world is better for him being in it oh by the way hes 43
@finishfixer My son is 14, and he wipes his own ass just fine. As for a social life and the end of cute, that's why I'm involved with a disability co-op. Alzheimer's at 40 isn't guaranteed. Higher risk - like leukemia and heart issues - and my son hasn't had those. We can't guarantee the health or future of any of our children. Why not enjoy the now while you involve yourself in future planning for all people with disabilities instead of just focusing on the negative possibilities?
Aww love this video of down sydromes they are just the cutest and kindest people in the world, my baby boy cousin in it, 3rd slide, top left hand corner.
Thanks for all the comments, I just hope that some people may have watched it and altered their perspective on people with disability generally and Down's Syndrome specifically.
I feel so honored to have been on this wonderful journey and wish more people could find a reason to open their minds to the wonderful lessons we can learn from sharing our lives with special people. Only 5 days ago I was chatting with a lady of 42 who has Down's Syndrome at a conference and it was truly uplifting.
So a couple times a year I like to post some kind of awareness of Down Syndrome also known as Trisomy 21!!!!! This Video to me is amazing and does the job of speaking for all those with Beautiful Almond eyes!!!!!!
Such a beautiful video, wish our angel had made it and was able to be part of the video, unfortunately he had complications and passed away last October aged 4 months we love and miss him soooo much x x
@rickabex Do I already know you? I can't tell from your name.
If not please do get in touch with me by email penny@dhg.org.uk, it may help to be in touch with others who know what you are going through - we have a DS bereavement support group on Facebook.
Also, there were a couple of angels in the montage although I didn't flag them up - I am hoping to do something similar next year and would love to include your little one if you wanted.
I sure wish my "angel" had made the album...great job...only one thing consistently jumps out at me...it's Down syndrome not Down's...but lots of ppl call it that...beautiful! Thanks for making it, Penny! <3 <3

Here in the UK most of us still use the apostrophe and you will see this if you check Wikipedia and other references, so that's what I'm used to. It's one of those things we agree to disagree on like the spelling of words such as colour /color. I have been accused of not knowing what I'm talking about before now because I use 's - but I think there are far more important issues to worry about like getting rid of the 'r' word and getting people to use person first language.
@PennyGreenDHG So sorry, didn't think my posts were posting but Good LORD look how many times it posted...sorry - wasn't thinking of the UK vs US thing...and you're right - more important things to worry about than whether an apostrophe is appropriate or not...just thought I'd point it out in case one of the thousands of others you reach didn't...lol...Dr. Thomas Down can own the syndrome, am sure he wouldn't have minded!
This is so touching Penny, how beautiful all of our children are and what a lovely way to celebrate WDSD looking at all thes pics. Thank you Penny you done us proud xxxxx
Penny, it's BEAUTIFUL! I found myself smiling at each of those faces just knowing how blessed I am to be part of this huge, global family! Thanks for putting it together and for sharing it with the WORLD!! I agree with you... the people I have met on this journey have been inspiring, generous, loving and unique! Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
Thankyou Penny for compiling this and sharing with us all. So lovely to see my gorgeous daughter included in your photoboard. Our children are an inspiration to us. Tomorrow will be a day to reflect on those beautiful DS children who, sadly, gained their angel wings to early and those who bless us with their presence every day - we, as their parents, are better for having them in our lives. Bless you all x x x x
Thank you for doing this!!! You are awesome Penny!!! My Xan looks so handsome!!!
