very nice. I like the version by Elissa Gabbai too.
The paintings are wonderful. There is a Canadian painter by the name of Cornelius Krieghoff who has a similar style and subject matter. If you wanted a more authentic Canadian ambience, Krieghoff would do, but the Russian painter is fine. The winter scenes are much the same in both countries.
Indeed! And why not? It adds to the fun, nicht wahr? BTW, are you an English Quebecker or a full-blooded Canuck Quebecois? If the latter, you could add, "as noticed by a smiling and sly Quebecois".
Thanks. Mireille Mathieu bears an unique and attractive French accent. The song is very nice....but, first class are the background with Russian inspiration.
MM has loyal fans all over the world. Her voice is unforgettable - even in the United States, where we rarely hear anything about MM on our silly TV networks, those of us that have traveled abroad, and have heard MM, are forever her fans. Thank God for the Internet that keeps us in the loop. Thanks for posting this.
I DO agree! MM just did a special concert in St Petersburg to honour the victims of the siege in the 2nd Great Patriotic War. Her fans in Russia are legion!
I want to thank all of you who have watched this video. I thought that I was the ONLY Mireille Matthieu fan left! I DO remember the other version, but, I have not been able to find it on the internet. Thank you for bringing joy to me by watching my vid.
Dear Vostorgina01: First, let me thank you for posting this charming video. I think the Russian winter scenes go quite well with the "Winter in Canada" theme. Let me assure you that her fans are legion, and from all over the world! Her songs are optimistic and uplifting, which resonates with people everywhere. Even her French patriotic songs manage not to be chauvinistic, but, rather, to appeal to every healthy individual's love of country. Again, thank you.
You might insert some fleeting Canadian images such as Royal Canadian Mounties, lumberjacks, maple syrup, and mgagnificent mountains and lakes. Fool the audience better.
I wasn't trying to fool the audience. It is the title of the song! I didn't write it! All my vids have a Russian tie-in... and you have to admit, winter in Canada... winter in Russia... what's the difference?
Thank you for the comment. It means you watched the vid! Shall we crack open an adult beverage? (I suggest the real thing... not Coke! Vodka!)
very nice *****

Some of the group of 7 would have been fitting too, they did some great winter scenes... but then again it would be overly stereotypical.

I have placed the original version by Elissa Gabbai as a video response above. It is matched with photographs of the Russian countryside in winter.
