there is a bug in the 1.1 minecraft where when you click, it does it anyways and theres no way to fix it in game, the way you fix is is to restart minecraft.

@Utzmon It's the shift bug that sometimes makes the game think you have shift pressed the whole time. You have to close and restart Minecrraft to make it go away.

I turned the log into charcoal. Turning the log into planks is better if you were doing a speed run. In the real world of Minecraft you'd go for the charcoal.

That bug happens to me sometimes, it seems like the game thinks the shift key is stuck down. Restarting Minecraft usually fixes it for me.

Guys! the reason you think he's pushing shift, It's because 1.1 SMP has a REALLY annoying bug where shift will stick, and you can't do anything about it, The only way (I know) to fix it is just to close minecraft completely, And then start it back up. They are fixing this in 1.2

The glitch is very easy to fix , press shift and ctrl at the same time and it should be fixxed , i have the same problem and i fixxed it by doing shift and ctrl .
