Would it have been to easy to just show the DL? What if the camera guy was part of a criminal organization, taping the response to an active shooter at the capitol, to see the best way to plan a terrorist attack? Im not saying this guy was doing that, but you dont know until you talk to him. And if all he wanted was a statement, why stand there and film troopers talking? Would have been to hard to walk up and ask where to go for a statement?

Not saying you have to have it or the Trooper was right but why wouldn't you have Press ID? It sure would make your job easier.

They have forgotten who pays them and who they truly work for. And because the first officer was ignorant to the laws of Texas, ie. the reporter wasn't being accused of a crime, therefore not having to produce ID, the reporter was wrongfully detained for how-ever long it was.
