@Honeydoole I'm Indian and I see this as pretty hilarious and not offensive at all. If Indians are the smartest people in the world I don't see any reason to be "humiliated" by any of this.
what I don't understand is why they don't train Indians to speak English... it would help improve customer service greatly. I know that in parts of America they have horrible accents too (e.g. South and North East) but not only do Indians not know how to speak English, they cannot understand it either... it is not funning going in circles with a customer service rep simply because they don't understand what you're saying... or having multiple spelling mistakes on your address that they wrote
@Bepmimfunga sorry, I typed fast.... so perhaps it was not clear.. I meant that AMERICANS can have horrible accents too... in South and North East, for instance. I am just saying that Indians are not the only ones with bad accents. But the thing is they are working as customer service, so I believe they should be trained to speak in a more understandable way on the telephone. Not just hire them with their existing accent, which is hard to understand on the phone.
@ycomp still the point remains xD Name for people in india is Hindu, and Indians are native americans, and I am yet too see a native american with a horrible accent like one that some hindi have xD, but yer grand for tryin to sort that out, not FAIL.
@Bepmimfunga I have never seen such a strange claim before. That Indians (from India) are not Indians. To say that it is incorrect to call a person from India and Indian is laughable... that is like saying a person from Pakistan is not a Pakistani... and as far as I know only Hindus are Hindus. Not all Indians.
@ycomp Never mind me, I am just drunk. Just found it somewhat laughable that you called Indian people "Indians". To be honest I am not sure what they are called and maybe Indians are correct, but I don´t much care to argue over what is called what. And so...yeah, well nevermind.
@Bepmimfunga my dear friend, they are Hindi, and the Plainsmen of America were actualy known by their clan/tribe for their mane the name Indian was given by Columbus as an assumption and later taken away as it was a falsehood and Native American is more of a derogatory term that was again just cast on the proud people of the Plains. People from India who do not practice the Hindu religion actualy are Indian this is true, but if they follow the commonly practiced Hindu religion they are Hindi.
@Vedrfolfir Hindi is a (of the) language, everyone born in india are indian whether they are Indo-aryan Dravidian or Sino-tibetan Hindu is a person who practise hinduism
the word india came from indus ( called by ancient roman and greek)
nooo..name for people in India is not Hindus...Hinduism is a religion....nd Hindi - our national language....India has many other religions including Islam, christianity, Buddhism...we are called Indians.....
its not because we dont know English..The English speaking population in India is more than population of United Kingdom...it takes time for us to understand your accent...we follow British English and hence do not know all the spellings of American English....and sum words mean differently in both cultures inspite of the common language....
americans can kiss our asss, barak hussain obama comes to india to beg deals so he can generate jobs back there in usa.lolz.these americans r good for nothing
Now this is more like india, the show cleans it up too much, i know what it looks like pretty damn corrupt and dirty but the movie is not funny at all just the last part.... 2:08
This is GE and NBC making fun of Americans not having job because GE offshored all of their work to foreigners. GE should move their asses offshore and take that Yuppie CEO with them.
@TVbyTime there aren't being tacx facist idiot for sending jobs overseas inflation is purging them out and the TAXES AND REGS are making it far more efficient and economic sense to increase revenue by sending jobs oversears and deal with the mileage and distance and equipment then hire overpaid fat lazy american socialist docuhebags sucking off the fed to prop up their msierable existences we dont need no more service sector bs we need manufacturing.
@deltapunk21 you are a blind idiot - NAFTA has ruined america. US dollars went overseas and now have backfired in our faces, the foreign countries have all of our real estate and assets you moron. The govt took loads of money privately and opened sanctions up to the foreigners for MONEY in there pockets - nancy pelosi makes 194k/yr so WHY and HOW is her net worth 133 MILLION dollars - senators & congress are MULTI Millionaires you FOOL - do some research and then post - IDIOT!
May be the movie is good but whatever theey have tried to show in this ...is a complete bullshit...may be fucking americans love to shoot with cows as they are in real life thats why tried to drag some cows in indian call centre... but if any one really try to lift their ass and come to india to see the call centre then they will come to know that we provide water and tissue to wipe ur poo instead of wipe n poo by papers and smell own loss
Yeah ! I mean people should have an open mind and try to see things clearly. You would have noticed the stealing electricity thing in this movie which is crap and cows loitering into any builiding which has never ever happened. With the IT boom these organisations in India are state of the art structures
I dont mean to say that there are no cows in the streets or people dont steal electricities( that which happens in every country) but only that people should move their vision deep into the other realities of India. History books and geography books?
My comment about the stolen electricity was not from this movie alone. Hollywood movie is gonna screw it up. We know this. But I know that people who can't afford it steal it. India isn't the only country that has a problem like that I know. Humanity is humanity. "I need it, can't pay for it, I take it."
I first saw the stolen electricity issues in NEWS reports. News can be as fake as a Hollywood movie, but I do research too. Does every book in the world lie about India? Is it ALL a lie?
There is a huge difference between lie and perspective. I did not say that the writers of the book lie but rather have put it down with a western perspective which is hugely biased. People who havent lived with other Indians- the real Indians will always talk about India in this stereotypical way. Again my problem is not with call centres represented it is with this things about cows straying into a working organisation? Please tell me the name of the book where this has been put down for fact?
A cow wandering anywhere probably isn't gonna have an entire book written on it. Yeah... everyone's perspective on everyone is different. Biased does work. The only real reason I am defending this movie is probably because... compared to others we have seen... this one isn't that bad with steriotypes. Seeing as your Indian, I really can't argue with you about India and expect to win. But I will consider your points in this conversation from now on.
That was quick! Well neither am I trying to put up an argument here and there is nothing to lose or win. Do think about any country as a just a country and forget about the sterotypes youve heard because most of them are made up of crap! Biased vies can be on an issue but a fact should not be biased.
When an edge develops over other countries this is what happens- a movie full of crap- nothing personal buddy jsut my view over somthing that has always pricked me- see ye soon
then, Indians go on to say our culture blah blah blah, yaar ye culture hamare liya acchi hey lekin voh log na hamare culture ko maante na samman karte, agar karte to sirf hamare saamne. Neither could we expect them to do it.One thing I do know is that har desh us deshwaasi ko accha lagta hai, chaahe voh upjavu hey ya nahi!
) great yaar my Hindi is still good( by the way I am a Tamilian)
and we are not always that (tidiududud kind) hate that music yaar! kabhi suna aisi music India mein, hate it when ppl ask me if there are cows and snakecharmers!!
I used to tell them " well yes, but for some reason only the foreighners could see them, not Indians"
another sterotypical western made Indian movie!! we are not like this! ppl need to study about the present India before theymake such movies( and, a cow does not wander into any office just like that)we are not idiots to treat any working organization without respect. Blast it man, give us a break.
You speak as if India doesn't have traditional music or cows. Sure it isn't the only music India has.
The makers of this movie did research on India before making it though. This shit was in books. Of course, its gonna have errors, but a lot in it is close, and shit that even I have seen.
For example, the music DOES exist, and electricity is stolen by a lot of people who cannot afford it. You hate it when people ask if there are cows? What does that even mean?
that means the first thing they ask about India is " are there lots of cows in India" not is Amrtya Sen from India, or is Rabindranath Tagore from iNDIA OR WHERE IN India...
I dod not mean to say that India has no traditional music but that it is not our only music
in what bookS? Books written by Indians who came back to India to find their roots and wrote whatever they perceived with an western eye or by some foreighner who wanted a taste of poor India?
History books, geography, educational books of all kinds. Indians could have written a lot of them. And people all over the world, travel all over the world, and write about it. I don't understand why it is a bad thing to ask about the number of cows in India. As an American, I can tell you right now. That when we think of India steriotypically, the first thing that comes to mind is NOT the amount of cows there are.
Listen, your "could have" probability theory does not work! Proof and facts should make a movie. Let me make one thing clear, I am not here to fight and prove that you are wrong. But rather a simple citizen who asks for truth in the movie about her country.
I mean I am irritated by the are there "cows in yours streets always?" question because thats the only thing I am asked when people meet me. You would have met loads of Indians there who are, I can assure you, in no way iNDIAN , who would approve this movie and feel elated. But as a true Indian- this is crap!
@Honeydoole it's not racism its reality and this movie don't call Indians DUMB ,it tries to imply how important knowing one's culture is......
