Thanks moparmonster1965, Keep in mind though that the chapter heading for Mormon Chapter 1 says the three were taken, but when you read the chapter in its self it doesn't say the three nephites in particular were taken up, they do put a foot note back to 3 Nephi Chapter 28, but it is still another contradiction within the book of mormon. If Jesus told the three that they will be immortal till he returns an they are taken back up in Mormon ch1 then we have Jesus lying and a contradiction.

Also our friend Hypnotstcollector on here had a very good point he likes to collect old mormon books and reprints, etc. Here is what he found I will put his comment here,

"well, i found it! in my 1966 bofm it says "first issued as divided into chapters and verses with references bt Orson Pratt in 1879! "

So 1830 edition the original no footnotes or chapter heading descriptions. In fact 1830 is really bad grammar and run on sentences.

So before Orsan Pratt had chapter headings put in the book of mormon as read from 1830 edition you would assume that Jesus would not lie or contradict himself. My theory is Orson Pratt added the Mormon Chapter 1 Heading to deal with the 3 Nephites, because if they are still here on the earth, then maybe God didn't need JS. Regardless Jesus did say in 3 Nephi. ch28 that the 3 disciples would not taste death till Christ returned. Jesus has not returned yet.

one more quick note the book of mormons says that God's word is unchangeable,

Alma 41:8

Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.

Ether 3:12

And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie.

Therefor 3 Nephi 28 ans Mormon ch 1 don't add up, they contradict themselves.

Another good example of Joseph using the Bible for his ideas. When I was a member I could never get a straight answer to what happened to the 3nephites doing a "walkabout" somewhere in the world.

Great Point ! This Mormon thing keeps falling apart even though its already fallen apart for me.

These 3 nephites will have had the so called priesthood as well.

According to Mormon Theology the priesthood was restored to Smith and yet according to the Book of Mormon it was seemingly always here on the earth.

Mormon problems and contradictions just never end. It must be very traumatic for once faithfull Mormon believers. Thats what makes it a dangerous religion.

Was it early in the morning? Did he look like Pancho Vila or have wings or glow in the dark? HAHA.. I have heard 2ond and 3rd hand stories about members seeing angels and even Jesus. I personally think they saw these things with their spiritual eyes. LDS members are blind to the way God is described in the Bible. The new lds church moto describing God should be "NO FEAR".
