DON'T YOU JUST HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE HATE ON HARRY POTTER FOR NOTHING WHEN THEY HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIES OR READ THE BOOKS?! Even if they've seen the movies, the books are much better and give more detail! Like if you agree!
this movie is awesome. pretty much all the movies are. the only problem with this movie is that it left out so much of harry and ginny. those were the funniest parts of the book. they should have done that better.
Missed out detail which was just about forgivable - though adding stuff in was shitty - sorry it was just a fucking shit adaptation of the book. The whole essence of the book was the last section of school life Harry had (and that got screwed up) and the spells all looked the same (fighting snape Harry uses incarcerous which is meant to conjure ropes...wtf did they do? They used a little grey blob!?!?!?).
I think what was disappointing for most people about this movie was the ending because there was no battle against the Death Eaters at Hogwarts and Harry didn't put up much of a fight against Snape.
i aree, for one the phines was left out of all 6 movies and in the 6th flm draco's part is so exhausted, like the viewers are so stupid they need to be shown more thatn the book tells. the director shoudl have put more effort into producing things that actually happened in the book rather than makign things up and treatign us like idiots.
I guess i wouldnt be this judgemental if i had not already read all the books twice! lol
for me all the movies are a bit disappointing... If you are a true harry potter fan, which means you've read the book as well, you'll agree with me.. there are a lot of important details, which you would miss if you're not keen enough, that were left out..
yeah.. the movies were awesome but there were a lot of details that are not shown.. you would not understand harry potter if you don't read the books.. but all the movies are great..
emma and dan really did a great job, i like the part where hermione cried at harry's shoulder, that scene really makes me realize what kind of friend harry is with hermione..because its always hermione who helped him..
this movie is better than OOTP..but still goblet and prisoner is on my top list!..
I agree that the battle was ok to be left out, but than why was there so much emphasis on Draco fixing a cabinet all year long for the death eaters when they do nothing but break windows and dishes once inside the school. The death eaters were basically a joke in this movie compared to 4 and 5. Titanic was a long movie and it is still the most successful movie of all time. I had a problem with the diner scene, burrow, and the alterations to the tower scene, but the movie was OK, not the best
The acting was good for what was given, Draco was AMAZING but the movie spoon fed his role without any suspense, the effects were good but that is expected since technology gets better over time, the mood of the book was seriousness so that element was ruined since the characters were too distant from the pending war happening, the book didn't explain Harry and Ginny as a developed relationship and neither did the movie, you weren't supposed to know what side Snape was on so that was ruined.
I meant the scene when Snape says I don't want to do this anymore. Even my friends that haven't read the book knew Snape was really good, so the shock value in the 7th when you find out what side he is on will be downplayed. Basically all the moments that made the Half-Blood Prince its own story was downplayed, but everything else was amazing. I just hated how all the characters let bad things happen, from the burrow just burning with no one putting out the fire, to the invasion of the school.
they skipped alot of info from the book like when snape was about to kill dumbledore in the book dumbledore immobilized harry but in the movie snaoe just says "shhhhh" and harry just watches dumbledore being killed...it wasnt bad anyway...
I hate they cut the battle at the end but deathly hallows will be way better than HBP..yet the movie is the highest grossing film this year, and 3 stars in my book, and people complaining so much still went to see it and probably have it on DVD..lol..
the end of the movie was crap, in the book hogwarts put up a fight against the death eaters in the movie is was just harry and they missed so much out i was dissapointed when i first wathced
Did anyone notice how Lavender Brown was black in previous movies, and then as soon as the character gets a speaking role, she magically becomes white? Little sketchy.
No, I am 100% sure. I looked at Prisoner of Azkaban credits and saw the name Lavender Brown matched up with a girl named Jennifer Smith who is black. She is matched in scenes with Parvati. She is not the twin because they look nothing alike and aren't even the same race. In the books, it never says Lavender's race, but after I saw the 3rd film, I assumed she was black up until this point where she becomes white for the kissing role. I love the irony of her name.
Oh yes i see what you mean after looking back, well perhaps she wasnt willing to do the kiss or was ill but maybe your right and the director possibly is a bit racist and didn't want her in the film and I agree with you on her name it is ironic
I don't want to call out the director as being racist because it may be a bunch of people involved on the decision. I can understand if they get a new actress because it wasn't a speaking role in the 3rd, but I thought the new actress would be somewhat black to agree with the previous. They make it seem like Lavender popped out of nowhere. It could also be the fact that somehow someone screwed up the casting in movie 3. I'm just confused on how race was neglected as a trait for a character.
Yes I agree with you but if you have read the books you would see how much is neglected from this film and you can see why Lavender's race was probably of little importance to them.
I know, so much information left out that was entertaining, informative, or progresses the story as a whole. Shouldn't they have explained how Harry was still sad over his Godfather and that he inherits his house which should play a role in the next film when they are in hiding. Harry cried more for Cedric dying than his own Godfather. For me, the series as a movie peaked at #4 and it has been gradually going down hill. I really hope the next two can redeem what is left of the series.
Yeh I know what you mean and also the scene where Dumbledore dies it wasn't the same with Harry just stood there in the book he is frozen by dumbledore so he doesn't interfere. When the films started it was done very closely to the book but now it just seems to have forgotten the plot and turned into a film version of Eastenders with magic rolled in.
I don't even know what they were thinking when they made the adjustments at the end. If all they key moments of the story are altered or completely left out, than what does that leave the movie? Everything that made this a stand out story was changed. I literally can't pick a moment to make the film identifiable as the Half-Blood Prince other than the anti-climatic ending. I guess Voldemort just appeared in an orphanage and Greyback is only scary cause he's hairy.
I really think a good idea has been lost to mainstream media I don't think enough fans or people who read the book were contributing in this and if they were how did my second favorite book be such a shambles. Where is all the information about Voldermort's past, the connection between Harry and Dumbledore wasn't good and where was the fighting at the end it was poorly done and also the kiss between Harry and Ginny was done terribley and also with hiding the book ginny makes sure he cant find it
Wow, this was my second favorite book too, right after the third. I just hate how things can be left out or changed for things that never happened or things that really don't serve a purpose. It made absolutely no sense to put so much emphasis on Draco fixing the cabinet all year long for the Death eaters when they really don't do anything once inside the school. Death Eaters were way scarier in 4 and 5. Left out that Snape led Voldemort to Harry's parents after hearing the prophecy.
Yeh thats a key factor in it because thats why Harry hates Snape so much in 7 and then realizes he loved his mum later. But also in the book when he hides the Half Bloop Prince book he uses Ravenclaws Diadem to give him a signal of where it is but doesn't know what it is though in the film Ginny makes Harry cover his eyes as she hides the book so how does Harry then now in the 8th film where the Diadem is
My only guesses are that they are going to make up new horcruxes, have Ginny there with the trio during the room of requirement scene, or the horcrux will be in a new location. They have to have something because this is the end, there isn't any way around the plot this time since there isn't any movie coming after. The only good thing about the changes is that I don't know what is going to happen in the next two films. Movies will never top the book, but I just hope it can do justice
Yeh the only problem with changing to much from the book is that it can be ruined and I hope like you that it is done justice as it is my favorite film series and if not well I can always read the books and let my imagination run wild
It's awesome! And I'm sick of people snarling about how bad it was, too, because it was good! Definitely better than OTP, at least! Only part I didn't like was the kiss scene.
The endless whining about this film has been completely OTT. It'll end up being one of the favourites of the series simply because the acting was off the wall, it's hilarious, and it's the last time the trio are at Hogwarts as kids. DH1 at best will have a minute or two following Luna & Longbottom causing chaos. DH2 will just be about watching Hogwarts explode ... Can't wait ...
i mean they scipt thoose not very intresting things. and if it would have been the book exactley it would have been boring. i think this movie rocked!!!!
the things that were not in the movie like some of thoose memories ere the things i think is kind of boring.
I agree, I totally thought it was the best of the six. It was pretty true to the book without being completely different, and they made it interesting - yet something annoying to me - by making up some scenes. But the acting and special effects were great.
yes, tom felton is attractive, but being "one of those" hp fans (lol sorry), i cant get over the fact that he's always been draco malfoy. ive got nothing personal against him, but i cant stand how hateful and wimpy his character is. so good acting on his part!
I loved it, I'm sick of people bitching about it! I know it cut out some important parts like Dumbledore's funeral and/or the battle, but that is to be expected. And plus, one of the reasons it doesn't have much action is because in the 7th movie there's SO much action, like, fucking heaps, and so i's sort of a calmer one before all the crazy-ass-muther fucker shit happens.
@XxXTonksAndLupinXxX This is true. It was well done...but the adaptation wasn't good at all. I don't disapprove of the battle scene getting taken out, since I understand that lessens the impact of the final battle in Deathly Hallows Part 2, HOWEVER, they went a little too far with this one..especially since the book is shorter than Goblet of Fire, yet that film managed fit most of its important parts into the film, so this one, you can't really use the "they can't make a 10 hour film" excuse.
@ajtiger1995 Aww, that's a shame. I guess the Harry Potter movies will never be as good as the books, but these last two movies really did shine for me. I haven't liked an HP movie as much as I have with them since the first two movies came out.

I was so dissapointed in this movie. It was the worst adaptation of a book i have ever seen. There was virtually no detail, and half of the movie never happened in the book.
Malfoy was totally more human in this one, more likable, and imo, he was a lot easier to sympathise with. altho yes - some parts were left out and cut down, they definitely got Malfoy's part right. and he totally got hotter and seems a LOT taller. .
Losers? Please, Harry potter nerds have a right to do that, what would you rather have; that or a bunch of horny 13 year olds screaming about edward cullen?
they have humor, they are no losers. they love harry potter, wich is great and they have HUMOR HUMOR HUMOR. its cool to dress up like that. its funny.
I loved everything but the ending. It was a little anti-climatic. The book was WAY better to me. I also wish they would have focused on the Half-blood Prince (Snape) more.

I'm know reading six book of Harry Potter and come on, guys. Every scene that cut creators are stupid and boring (also a VolanDemorte memories are stupid too) This is not neccesary to show them in the movie. But they could show more Quidditch when Ron was out.
if you think the book sucked, why in the world would you watch it? plus he's wearing a batman costume? dude, you went to see the wrong movie...
Personally I was disappointed when they left out the battle and the funeral, I think they are probably going to keep out the wedding too, seeing as they never had either Bill or Charlie in any of the movies.
Loved the movie. People need to realise the movie isnt just made for THEMSELVES. It takes alot fo effort and work, and you have to respect the outcome. Book translations dont always turn out good, do they? But, imo, HP really does shine. Non readers LOVE HP, so imagine how much they'd love the books. I love the comedy, tension and action. Its great. The *important* things they didnt add in HBP they will add in DH. I love this one more because its so dark and intense. I'm not a fussy person.
i loved the book...the movie kinda let me down...seemed as if they rushed it...movie was pretty funny...had its good moments....the movie was good overall...i was just dissapointed at the end where the action was cut to a minimum oh i was upset! and they cut out dumbledore's funeral! dang....7 out of 10 for this movie....the 2nd movie still remains my favorite!
I guess I kinda agree with you. Rushed? Im not sure, if it was like, 5 hours, it would be perfection, but with 2 and a half hours, its always hard to fit in all the peices you want, even if you know the fans will hate you after. The action may of been cut to minimum, but I thought the action we got was awesome! And besides, apprently they cut it off because in *SPOILER* DH with the fight.. there would be too much battle. But whatever, the end was sad, and it still touched me :)
I saw HP&THBP for the 3rd time tonight, it will be the last. Their is nothing in it. It is a very dissapointing movie by far the worst. Hopefully 7 will improve a great deal. Splitting into a 2 may help as THBP as a movie made no sense. You could not really put any parts down from the book except the cave scene. All the scenes with the sex crazed teens was just poor. I was hoping for a lot more since they held the film back for 8 months but it was just the biggest dissapointment for us tragics.
Also to rockerangusyoung623, I never attacked you personally or meant to upset you in a personal manner. If that is what you feel I have done than I apologize because I was putting your opinion up to question. I never called you any names or anything in that manner. I take matters in a rational sense most of the time, trust me I would never be a bully. It just caught me off guard how you can say some other movies were off from the book and praise the 6th one. Again I am sorry
To 1BWSTYLE8, I accept your apology. And let me say this. The reason why I praised the 6th movie more than 3 and 4 is because the 6th and 7th books were my personal favorite, so of course i'm gonna praise it lol. I know it wasn't quite like the book but it was a damn fine movie in my opinion. And I am sorry for coming at you like that....I was merely defending my opinion. But I handled it poorly and I am sorry as well.
I can actually forgive any other movies that left information out since they actually stuck to the main plot. I know they can't fit everything into these films, but then there shouldnt be emphasis on the subplot of romance or added scenes that bring little to the table. The film tries too hard to make the audience laugh and misdirects those who havent read the book from the importance of the memories to more so the revolving relationships which really didnt capture the feel of the book
As an adaptation rockerangusyoung623, 1,2, 3, and 4 were still the best because they actually captured the feel of the books. Visually 6 was good but if your looking for real substance out of a movie the 6th one is not for you. You just said 3 was the worst and didn't explain and that's what made me wonder about what you consider to be a good movie, especially on what 6 lacked from the book. Glad you stuck to your opinion and gave a basis to it. You have every right to your opinion.
1, 3, and 5 were my favorites. 6 wasn't bad, but it was a little too short and choppy for my liking. Seemed like instead of their being more of a brooding feel, there was less of that and more comedy. Good for the kids, but the whole book was about chaotic times. If they are gonna botch major parts of the plot, at least try to convey the atmosphere of the book.
Do you guys imagine Johnny Depp being in the last 2 movies LOL it would totally bring laughter and a lot more comedy to the movie but that is not gonna happen.
To rockerangusyoung623, there is no way you read the books or know what a good movie should be. Movies 3 and 4 was Harry Potter at its best when it comes to the series as a movie. If you watch the 6th again, you will realize that there really isn't a point to the movie since the subplot of relationships becomes the main plot and the main plot which was supposed to be discovering Voldemort's weaknesses was pushed to the side. No real substance to this movie other than making the audience laugh
just because I have different a opinion than you, you have to say that about me??? I have read the series more than once and I have seen every movie...more than once. I know what I like and I don't give a SHIT what you have to say about it. Yes, the movie was different than the book...we no shit, they have to make it into movie quality rather than a book. Movies 3 and 4 were also great, but they were not my favorite, don't get so defensive, its a book/movie...calm down you egotistical bastard
by the way, the 3rd movie mixed the chapters around more than any of the other movies did...it ended on chapter 11...wtf? the 4th movie's editing was pretty bad...and they left out WAY more than any of the movies did. Thats MY opinion, and I don't care if you don't agree, believe in what you want. And like I said before, its a movie, calm down about it. I would like to see you make a better film, I guarantee that YOUR movie would win a RAZZIE. Talk to you later 1BWSTYLE8
Thanks to Alfonso Cuaro (the director of the 3rd movie) the HP movies were made more dark and gothic ala Tim Burton style. He brought the magic to another level. The third movie is, in my opinion, an outstanding masterpiece. Half-blood prince was the worst movie yet.
yea, I agree. It was less Harry Potter-ish, and more, idk, like a "sell-out" to attract more viewers. I'm sure if I didn't read the books, I'd love it. That's the problem with the multi-media entertainment vs. simple books. While reading, you create your own perspective. Watching a movie shows the perspective from another person's point of view. My bf is thinking smart & reserving judgment until all the movies finish, to see how they connect as a whole.
ok just because it is different from the book is no reason to hate it just enjoy the movie they havent let me down on any of the other and ive read all the way up to HBP
... but if you read DH, then you would know that this movie kinda contradicts what's *supposed* to come up with the next movie. & people are entitled to hate a movie for whatever reason.
Only average... where was the final fight between DEaters and DArmy? Where was all the suspense about what Malfoy was doing that was in the book? Theres no suspense if you show the cupboardthing! The suspense over how Dumbledore hurt his hand. The werewolf wasn't even mentioned as a werewolf. The horcruxes werent explained like in the book. Too much romance. Harrys detention. The DArmy using the luck potion! Agh - so much wrong!!!
Agreed - I liked it better Order of the Phoenix, but too many important plots points were over looked & the ruined the Malfoy part because you figure out what he's doing about the 2nd or 3rd time you see in fooling around with the cabinet.
Definitely better than Order of the Phoenix. I'd say that one was the worst, since they cut out SOOO much, and there were so many plot holes, this one was much more true, although not completely, but much more true to the book than Order of the Phoenix. Second worst after Order of the Phoenix comes Prisoner of Azkaban, which was completely distorted. It makes me mad when they cut out so much from the book, but then have no problem adding in extra scenes, there's something wrong with that..
I HATE when they cut stuff, & add stupid stuff! I have to say i think OotP is my fave movie (ironically, least liked book), & PoA is the worst movie (esp bc that was my fave book!) While watching OotP I kept saying "thats not what happens!" but still liked the movie as a whole. While watching HBP, I kept saying "... this is completely irrelevant" and "this totally would NOT even happen" (ie: Harry arriving @ the burrow. it was cute, but the weasleys knew harry's summer plans more than he did!)
Order of the Phoenix didn't really cut stuff and add things, they just went cut-happy and cut so much to the point where there were so many holes. I mean, we never found out who really sent the Dementors to Harry, in the book it was revealed as Umbridge, but that whole part was never really resolved, and then there was never any dating scenes with Cho and Harry, and all the fighting at the end was butchered. They showed less than 1/10 of the Dumbledore vs. Voldemort fight.
I agree. I dont care much for dating scenes, but I always feel like the action & dramatic scenes get a little watered down. I think I read somewhere that Matthew Lewis (Neville) was upset that the "brain room" was filmed, but deleted. I dont feel that there were too many holes, but yes, it was quite the diluted movie. I watched HBP a 2nd time, & i admit it was a well made movie, but i still had my disappointments.
I was disappointed with HBP before it came out, already knowing what was modified and cut and that there wasn't much action, so I was already aware of many things, so watching it, it sort of met my expectations! :P Order of the Phoenix wasn't really like that and it really didn't meet my expectations because so much was cut. It sucks since it was PG-13, so they COULD'VE gotten away with more stuff, but most of it was the fact that there was a different screenwriter, Michael Goldenberg.
Maybe I should do that next time. I pretty much knew about the Burrow scene. I guess I tried not to read reviews to prevent pre-judgments bc I want to form my own opinions. But then I just ended up VERY disappointed, lol. I hate the "PG/PG13" thing-- the books can be dark, violent, & graphic, so the movie has every right to do the same! I don't know much about the production crew, but I do hope that John Williams comes back for music!
Yeah, if you wanna be aware of who's cut or who's returning for the Harry Potter movies, just go to those Harry Potter news websites, like Veritaserum(dot)com, hpana, etc. I myself didn't read any reviews, I wanted to see the movie and not have their opinions stuck in my head while watching the movie. And yes, John Williams MUST come back for Deathly Hallows, he said he wanted to. I mean, Nicholas Hooper did a great job, but it's time we have the REAL movie composer come back.
You know, a lot of people say "It wasn't truthful to the book". Well, I like to say "Shut the fuck up.".
The films are not supposed to be a replacement for the book. Why some think that, I have no idea. And how people think they have the statute to critique Steve Kloves' adaptation (look up what that means those of you who like to critique the movies' relationship to the books), of whom J.K. David Yates, do not disappoint me with the final 2!

emma and dan really did a great job, i like the part where hermione cried at harry's shoulder, that scene really makes me realize what kind of friend harry is with hermione..because its always hermione who helped him..
this movie is better than OOTP..but still goblet and prisoner is on my top list!..
i think i'm gonna wait for DH..

The thing is if they put anything else in the movie would be about 4.00 hours long and my bum would be going numb lmao
also if they did the battle scene the one at the end of book 7 wouldn't be so effective.
billiepiperlover101 2 years ago
I agree that the battle was ok to be left out, but than why was there so much emphasis on Draco fixing a cabinet all year long for the death eaters when they do nothing but break windows and dishes once inside the school. The death eaters were basically a joke in this movie compared to 4 and 5. Titanic was a long movie and it is still the most successful movie of all time. I had a problem with the diner scene, burrow, and the alterations to the tower scene, but the movie was OK, not the best

billiepiperlover101 2 years ago
This film rocked!!!
fuck you pple who didn't like it get a life!
billiepiperlover101 2 years ago 3
What rocked about it? The fact that barely anything happens.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
1. the acting improved
2.draco malfoy got more parts and snape the two best
3.they captured the fact that no one believed harry about draco being a death eater.
4.the effects rocked
5. it was very funny
6. they really got the ginny harry bit right
7. they hinted snape being good (that didn't happen in the book but it was a good idea)
8.- do u really need me to go on?
billiepiperlover101 2 years ago
The acting was good for what was given, Draco was AMAZING but the movie spoon fed his role without any suspense, the effects were good but that is expected since technology gets better over time, the mood of the book was seriousness so that element was ruined since the characters were too distant from the pending war happening, the book didn't explain Harry and Ginny as a developed relationship and neither did the movie, you weren't supposed to know what side Snape was on so that was ruined.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago 2
i say that but really he says shh making u think he could be a good guy but then he goes and kills dumbledore so really
billiepiperlover101 2 years ago
I meant the scene when Snape says I don't want to do this anymore. Even my friends that haven't read the book knew Snape was really good, so the shock value in the 7th when you find out what side he is on will be downplayed. Basically all the moments that made the Half-Blood Prince its own story was downplayed, but everything else was amazing. I just hated how all the characters let bad things happen, from the burrow just burning with no one putting out the fire, to the invasion of the school.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
they skipped alot of info from the book like when snape was about to kill dumbledore in the book dumbledore immobilized harry but in the movie snaoe just says "shhhhh" and harry just watches dumbledore being killed...it wasnt bad anyway...

Did anyone notice how Lavender Brown was black in previous movies, and then as soon as the character gets a speaking role, she magically becomes white? Little sketchy.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Lavender Brown was never black she was always white are you possibly confusing her with the Patil twins in it?
gruntydude 2 years ago
No, I am 100% sure. I looked at Prisoner of Azkaban credits and saw the name Lavender Brown matched up with a girl named Jennifer Smith who is black. She is matched in scenes with Parvati. She is not the twin because they look nothing alike and aren't even the same race. In the books, it never says Lavender's race, but after I saw the 3rd film, I assumed she was black up until this point where she becomes white for the kissing role. I love the irony of her name.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Oh yes i see what you mean after looking back, well perhaps she wasnt willing to do the kiss or was ill but maybe your right and the director possibly is a bit racist and didn't want her in the film and I agree with you on her name it is ironic
gruntydude 2 years ago
I don't want to call out the director as being racist because it may be a bunch of people involved on the decision. I can understand if they get a new actress because it wasn't a speaking role in the 3rd, but I thought the new actress would be somewhat black to agree with the previous. They make it seem like Lavender popped out of nowhere. It could also be the fact that somehow someone screwed up the casting in movie 3. I'm just confused on how race was neglected as a trait for a character.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Yes I agree with you but if you have read the books you would see how much is neglected from this film and you can see why Lavender's race was probably of little importance to them.
gruntydude 2 years ago
I know, so much information left out that was entertaining, informative, or progresses the story as a whole. Shouldn't they have explained how Harry was still sad over his Godfather and that he inherits his house which should play a role in the next film when they are in hiding. Harry cried more for Cedric dying than his own Godfather. For me, the series as a movie peaked at #4 and it has been gradually going down hill. I really hope the next two can redeem what is left of the series.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Yeh I know what you mean and also the scene where Dumbledore dies it wasn't the same with Harry just stood there in the book he is frozen by dumbledore so he doesn't interfere. When the films started it was done very closely to the book but now it just seems to have forgotten the plot and turned into a film version of Eastenders with magic rolled in.
gruntydude 2 years ago
I don't even know what they were thinking when they made the adjustments at the end. If all they key moments of the story are altered or completely left out, than what does that leave the movie? Everything that made this a stand out story was changed. I literally can't pick a moment to make the film identifiable as the Half-Blood Prince other than the anti-climatic ending. I guess Voldemort just appeared in an orphanage and Greyback is only scary cause he's hairy.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
I really think a good idea has been lost to mainstream media I don't think enough fans or people who read the book were contributing in this and if they were how did my second favorite book be such a shambles. Where is all the information about Voldermort's past, the connection between Harry and Dumbledore wasn't good and where was the fighting at the end it was poorly done and also the kiss between Harry and Ginny was done terribley and also with hiding the book ginny makes sure he cant find it
gruntydude 2 years ago
Wow, this was my second favorite book too, right after the third. I just hate how things can be left out or changed for things that never happened or things that really don't serve a purpose. It made absolutely no sense to put so much emphasis on Draco fixing the cabinet all year long for the Death eaters when they really don't do anything once inside the school. Death Eaters were way scarier in 4 and 5. Left out that Snape led Voldemort to Harry's parents after hearing the prophecy.
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Yeh thats a key factor in it because thats why Harry hates Snape so much in 7 and then realizes he loved his mum later. But also in the book when he hides the Half Bloop Prince book he uses Ravenclaws Diadem to give him a signal of where it is but doesn't know what it is though in the film Ginny makes Harry cover his eyes as she hides the book so how does Harry then now in the 8th film where the Diadem is
gruntydude 2 years ago
My only guesses are that they are going to make up new horcruxes, have Ginny there with the trio during the room of requirement scene, or the horcrux will be in a new location. They have to have something because this is the end, there isn't any way around the plot this time since there isn't any movie coming after. The only good thing about the changes is that I don't know what is going to happen in the next two films. Movies will never top the book, but I just hope it can do justice
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
Yeh the only problem with changing to much from the book is that it can be ruined and I hope like you that it is done justice as it is my favorite film series and if not well I can always read the books and let my imagination run wild
gruntydude 2 years ago
It's awesome! And I'm sick of people snarling about how bad it was, too, because it was good! Definitely better than OTP, at least! Only part I didn't like was the kiss scene.

The endless whining about this film has been completely OTT. It'll end up being one of the favourites of the series simply because the acting was off the wall, it's hilarious, and it's the last time the trio are at Hogwarts as kids. DH1 at best will have a minute or two following Luna & Longbottom causing chaos. DH2 will just be about watching Hogwarts explode ... Can't wait ...

I'm not a fussy person.
xlaurenc 2 years ago 3
i loved the book...the movie kinda let me down...seemed as if they rushed it...movie was pretty funny...had its good moments....the movie was good overall...i was just dissapointed at the end where the action was cut to a minimum oh i was upset! and they cut out dumbledore's funeral! dang....7 out of 10 for this movie....the 2nd movie still remains my favorite!
derekbarnesjf 2 years ago 2

I was hoping for a lot more since they held the film back for 8 months but it was just the biggest dissapointment for us tragics.
chunkychickenman321 2 years ago
Also to rockerangusyoung623, I never attacked you personally or meant to upset you in a personal manner. If that is what you feel I have done than I apologize because I was putting your opinion up to question. I never called you any names or anything in that manner. I take matters in a rational sense most of the time, trust me I would never be a bully. It just caught me off guard how you can say some other movies were off from the book and praise the 6th one. Again I am sorry
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
To 1BWSTYLE8, I accept your apology. And let me say this. The reason why I praised the 6th movie more than 3 and 4 is because the 6th and 7th books were my personal favorite, so of course i'm gonna praise it lol. I know it wasn't quite like the book but it was a damn fine movie in my opinion. And I am sorry for coming at you like that....I was merely defending my opinion. But I handled it poorly and I am sorry as well.
rockerangusyoung623 2 years ago
I can actually forgive any other movies that left information out since they actually stuck to the main plot. I know they can't fit everything into these films, but then there shouldnt be emphasis on the subplot of romance or added scenes that bring little to the table. The film tries too hard to make the audience laugh and misdirects those who havent read the book from the importance of the memories to more so the revolving relationships which really didnt capture the feel of the book
1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago

1BWSTYLE8 2 years ago
just because I have different a opinion than you, you have to say that about me??? I have read the series more than once and I have seen every movie...more than once. I know what I like and I don't give a SHIT what you have to say about it. Yes, the movie was different than the book...we no shit, they have to make it into movie quality rather than a book. Movies 3 and 4 were also great, but they were not my favorite, don't get so defensive, its a book/movie...calm down you egotistical bastard
rockerangusyoung623 2 years ago
by the way, the 3rd movie mixed the chapters around more than any of the other movies did...it ended on chapter 11...wtf? the 4th movie's editing was pretty bad...and they left out WAY more than any of the movies did.

Agh - so much wrong!!!
googlepeakoil 2 years ago 2
Agreed - I liked it better Order of the Phoenix, but too many important plots points were over looked & the ruined the Malfoy part because you figure out what he's doing about the 2nd or 3rd time you see in fooling around with the cabinet.
Plus the ending was so flat. . .
gpk1982 2 years ago 5
Definitely better than Order of the Phoenix. I'd say that one was the worst, since they cut out SOOO much, and there were so many plot holes, this one was much more true, although not completely, but much more true to the book than Order of the Phoenix. Second worst after Order of the Phoenix comes Prisoner of Azkaban, which was completely distorted. It makes me mad when they cut out so much from the book, but then have no problem adding in extra scenes, there's something wrong with that..
mario54671 2 years ago
