  • @johnnyzero2000 me too! i was confused how mere humans could make something so grand. i don't think wanting to be alive means you have shitty musical taste :D

  • Does anyone know who sings this song they are awesome?!

  • @johnyzero2000 Godiego, they are also the guys who did the monkey tv series theme =)

  • why is this song so great????? i'm confused!

  • @louiscarruthers Who knows but for me it's catchy, bouncy and puts a smile on my face everytime I hear it. So that is what makes it great for me. But then I have shitty taste in music I prefer to listen to stuff that gets my spirits lifted and making me feel good to be alive.

  • Aren't cherry seeds poisonous?

  • This scene so reminds of FLCL. The influence it has on GAINAX and the pillows seems obvious.

  • This Song is 『君は恋のチェリー:CHERRIES WERE MADE FOR EATING』by GODIEGO = ゴダイゴ (1977)

  • @kaeruiwa1963 Wait... wouldn't it be GODAIGO then?

    Just sayin'...

  • fantastic movie ,fantastic song lol

  • This looks like such a fun, happy-go-lucky movie where nothing could go wrong! Perfect for a date that doesn't want to see all that weird, gory, scary crap! :)

  • @phubans I thought the movie was some creepy shit. The happy, cheerful atmosphere just seemed to make it worse.

  • The soundtrack in the early scenes (specifically this and the "Main Theme") provides a false sense of security to the madness that occurs in the later scenes. The movie begins innocently before descending into mayhem. I wonder how this must have felt for audiences in 1977, especially without knowledge of what happens in the movie's later acts!

This film is truly unique. Many horror films use music and sound as ways to control the audience's mood. Hausu is the polar opposite!

  • Such a fucking awesome song.

  • 2:54 I can has cheezburger?

  • Mentos!

  • I'm seeing a screening of Hausu this Friday at midnight. Though it's coming out on dvd I'm still excited to see it on a big screen.

  • It's a fun song, but the lyrics infringe on Sam Cooke's "You Were Made For Me."

  • that cat is dead by now

  • @illuminatioracle After seein the movie i have my doubts about that. Craziest movie cat ever D:

  • @illuminatioracle It already was dead.. Snowflake was a ghost cat.

  • @afegerglimmung thought the cat's name was Blanche?

  • @illuminatioracle: That's the romanized name on some versions, Snowflake in others. Actually, the name in Japanese was 'Shiro', which means 'white'.

  • 「さくらんぼは食べられるために作られた」(^^)っていう歌なのだね。

    大好きな映画でしたが、今気付きました。

  • 2:25 think Yellow Submarine

  • Girl eating bagel: om nom nom nom

  • @mikolchung Her name is Mac! And she is eating a hamburger!

  • I finally find it!

I've been looking for this song.

    Thank you for uploading!

  • This is my favorite sequence in this film.

Pure Genius Forever. And you gotta love the

shot when Gorgeous and her pals do that

ABBA profiles leaning into center of frame

moves. "Cherries..." rules. It just RULES.

  • I saw this movie last Friday and I could not believe that such a film existed. It was great couldn't stop laughing. I hope that Criterion releases it eventually.

This song is too awesomely campy.

  • @yuukisama2001 Due in September.

  • @tedmerr

Thanks for the update. Though I haven't seen any updates as to when it's being released. IFC (NYC) just screened 'Mother' a month after this and it's being released this July.

  • @yuukisama2001 I found the info. on Janus' site since they're the license holders. I can't wait. I wonder if this film was ever released dubbed. If they release it I hope they put one on because I want my mother and niece to see it. As mom won't watch anything subbed. Me I have no problem with it as I watch most international films subbed anyway.

  • @yuukisama2001 Criterion is releasing this movie on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 26th of this year.

  • @BioHazard064

Thanks for the update. I'm surprised they don't have a date listed yet on their site. I've been wanting to pre-order it for some time now. But as soon as it gets listed I will be adding this one to my collection. =)

  • @yuukisama2001 October 26 now I believe.

  • @DBCOOPER888

Yeah, I know. We're almost there. Next week. So let's hope there are no delays. I'm getting this and Scorpion: Jailhouse 41. Both coming out the same date.

  • as soon as scene began..I thought...MENTOS! ;)

  • This is incredible! Did they even have LSD in Japan in 1977? I'm gonna see this movie (Nobuhiko Obayashi's Hausu/House). Great song!

  • I want this soundtrack!

I saw this film tonight and

the songs in it are so great.

  • @ILikeCalliopes

Now the CD is on sail. You can visit the web site of disk union.

  • Thanks ugougogoose

I looked for it at the website

but I can't find it and the site

    doesn't translate into English

    very well.

  • Believe it or not, this is probably one of the least weird scenes in this movie!

  • @MonoAzul kind sir...WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT!?XD

  • @Lifeopain Nyan cat?

  • Superb movie, great song =)
